Noticing the men with the stirrers were getting impatient, Feng Fan quickly cleared his throat.
"Kong Han, Li Kang," Feng Fan said, looking at the two men with the fireplace stirrers with an amicable smile. "The last person who was possessed couldn't speak so clearly, right? We should stop with this nonsense and come up with a plan to keep us alive. Don't you all agree?"
Kong Han and Li Kang hesitated before making a decision. They turned to Luo Li, who was experienced in dealing with ghosts.
Luo Li narrowed her eyes at Feng Fan. "Your behavior may be different from the last one, but that doesn't mean you aren't possessed. I'd rather kill an innocent to be sure than let a guilty one escape and risk the whole group."
Her words drained the color from Feng Fan's face. 'Such a ruthless woman! God, do you want to kill me that badly?!'
Kong Han and Li Kang, hearing Luo Li's words, moved toward Feng Fan with deadly intent.
"I have a plan for all of us to escape alive!" Feng Fan shouted.
His words stopped the men in their tracks, and even Luo Li was caught off guard.
"What plan?" Luo Li asked. She didn't fully believe Feng Fan, but she was willing to listen.
Truth be told, Feng Fan had no idea how to escape the situation. He wasn't from SIF and didn't know how to handle ghosts.
But if he had to bluff his way out to survive, he would do so without hesitation.
"There are a couple of bed sheets here. Let's use them to climb out the windows and escape the house. Easy, right?"
Luo Li looked at him like he was an idiot. "Your stupid suggestion is actually making me believe you aren't possessed. We're in a ghost zone. If it were that easy to leave, I would have done it already."
"Ghost zone? What's that?" Feng Fan asked, frowning in confusion.
"Sometimes, when a strong enough ghost appears, it creates a zone that's separate from the outside world. We call it a ghost zone. It works differently from the outside, and even the laws of physics can change inside it," Luo Li explained.
Feng Fan sighed. 'I've been thrown into a game without knowing the rules, and they set it to hell mode!'
"What's the best way to escape a ghost zone?" he asked.
Luo Li hesitated. "The easiest way is to kill the ghost that created the zone, but that's probably impossible for us... There are other ways, but we would need time to figure them out, which we don't have."
An idea suddenly struck Feng Fan.
"The ghost who attacked us was Ma Chen, right?" Feng Fan asked, his gaze fixed on Luo Li. He knew she was the one in charge here.
Luo Li nodded, confirming his question.
"After she attacked us, other ghosts appeared. They're probably the spirits of people killed by the Ma family's guns. So why don't we fight fire with fire? Make these damn ghosts kill each other."
According to the history Feng Fan remembered, Ma Chen was a widow from a wealthy family that manufactured guns used to kill indigenous people.
After being indirectly responsible for so many deaths, she believed her husband and daughter had died from curses cast by the ghosts of those they had wronged. The thought of being haunted made her go crazy before death.
"Oh," Luo Li gave him a mocking smile. "Great idea. Why don't we just sit down and have a nice chat with these flesh-hungry ghosts? Maybe we can politely ask them to kill the one who murdered them instead of coming after us."
Feng Fan rolled his eyes. 'Is this woman a mad dog? No matter what I say, she bites back.'
"Think about where Ma Chen attacked us. That was the biggest room in the mansion—most likely her own room before she died. The Ma family's gun collection is still inside the house. We can use those guns to lure the ghosts toward Ma Chen's room."
Luo Li's expression turned thoughtful. "This… might actually work. Ma Chen is the strongest ghost here, but even an elephant can be brought down by a swarm of ants. If half the ghosts in the house attack her at once, she'll at least be weakened."
"Then let's go. The sooner we move, the better our chances of getting out of here alive," said Feng Fan.
"N-No… I don't want to face any ghosts. L-Let's just stay here and wait for help," Zhou Niu stammered, her voice trembling.
She and Ding Qing had seen ghosts for the first time today, and the experience had left them traumatized. Half of their classmates had died right before their eyes, how could they summon the courage to face those monsters again?
Ding Qing nodded quickly. "W-We should stay put. I'm sure the police will send people to rescue us soon!"
Feng Fan shook his head. Their decision wasn't based on logic—it was driven by fear.
They had been stuck here for three hours already, and this place was close to the city. If the police could intervene, wouldn't they have done so by now?
"Help isn't coming," Luo Li said, her tone grim.
The two girls turned pale.
"In a ghost zone, it's even harder for outsiders to enter than for us to leave. It'll take at least a day before they can break in—and by then, we'll already be dead. Our best chance of survival is to follow Feng Fan's plan."
The girls trembled even more, and even Kong Han and Li Kang were growing more anxious by the second. Feng Fan could tell their morale was at rock bottom, and it wasn't going to improve anytime soon.
Without another word, he walked over to the bed and pulled off the bedsheets. Working quickly, he tied them together, creating a makeshift rope.
"Kong Han, catch!" Feng Fan suddenly tossed the rope toward him.
Caught off guard, Kong Han fumbled and dropped his weapon before managing to grab hold of the rope.
"Pull it—let's make sure it'll hold," Feng Fan instructed, gripping the other end firmly as they tested its strength.
After a few tugs, the rope held steady. Satisfied, Feng Fan moved toward the window.
