Introduction: A Skybound Cage

AUTHOR'S NOTE

This story is a work of fiction and an original creation. Any similarities to other works are purely coincidental. I haven't been actively reading novels for a long time, so if you come across familiar elements, it's not because I copied them—just that ideas can sometimes overlap.

Additionally, while I've done my best to incorporate astrology into the story, some details may not be entirely accurate. My goal is to create an engaging narrative rather than provide a perfect representation of astrological concepts. No offense is intended to those who take astrology seriously.

Thank you for reading, and I appreciate your support!

The Skyborn Collective stood above the clouds, a city of floating spires and bridges of light. The air shimmered with the hum of knowledge, where scholars, judges, and philosophers shaped the destiny of their people.

Celeste Orion walked through the corridors of the Celestial Academy, her hands curled into fists. Today was the Celestial Trial, the final test that would determine her place within the Air Dominion. But she already knew the outcome.

She was an Aquarius.

A visionary.

A free thinker.

And that was a problem.

The High Tribunal watched her closely, their expressions blank. A towering Libra judge stepped forward, holding a scroll inscribed with today's horoscope mandate:

"The Aquarius must obey the winds of destiny. The stars have spoken. You will serve the Celestial Order as an Archivist, cataloging knowledge—but never questioning it."

Celeste clenched her teeth.

"Never questioning it."

But what if the stars were wrong?

She had always been different. While other Aquarians accepted their fate, Celeste had spent years searching for inconsistencies in the Zodiac system. She had found ancient texts that spoke of a lost sign—one that could change everything.

And the Celestial Order had erased it.

Before she could protest, the ceremony was interrupted by a scream.

A figure in black armor emerged from the mist. His dagger gleamed under the artificial sky, his violet Scorpio crest marking him as an assassin of the Deep Sea Syndicate.

Celeste's breath caught as the assassin locked eyes with her. A warning, not an attack.

"Run."

Before she could move, guards surged forward, blades drawn. The assassin turned and disappeared into the fog.

Celeste stood frozen, her mind racing.

Something was terribly, terribly wrong.

And for the first time in her life... She was terrified.

Then, she opened her eyes.
