"Regrouping"

The cool night air hit them like a wave as they emerged from the underground tunnel. They were in the middle of an abandoned industrial zone, the skyline filled with towering, rusted buildings that looked like they hadn't been touched in years.

Lirian stretched, exhaling. "I don't ever want to see another droid again."

Seren ignored him, already scanning the surroundings. "We need to move. This area might not be safe for long."

Riven glanced around. "We need a place to regroup. Any ideas?"

Seren pulled up a holographic map on her tablet. "There's an old supply warehouse a few blocks from here. It's been offline for years. Should be safe enough to rest and plan our next move."

Riven nodded. "Then we head there."

They moved quickly, keeping to the shadows. The city was silent at this hour, the neon lights from distant skyscrapers flickering in the distance. The further they got from the facility, the more Riven's mind replayed the fight with the masked man.

You're starting to awaken.

What did he mean? And why did it feel like that wasn't the last time they'd meet?

They reached the warehouse without trouble. The entrance was rusted shut, but Lirian easily forced it open with a hard kick.

Inside, the air was thick with dust. Old crates were stacked against the walls, and a few broken machines lay scattered across the floor.

"Cozy," Lirian muttered.

Seren immediately set up her tablet, hacking into nearby surveillance grids to check for threats. Riven leaned against the wall, deep in thought.

"What's on your mind?" Lirian asked.

Riven hesitated. "The masked man."

Lirian's smirk faded. "Yeah… he was different this time. Stronger."

Riven nodded. "And he said something weird. That I was… awakening."

Seren looked up from her screen. "That's not random. He knows something about you."

Riven exhaled. "And I need to figure out what."

Lirian cracked his knuckles. "Well, next time we see him, let's make him talk."

Seren suddenly tensed. "Uh… we might not have to wait that long."

She turned her screen toward them. A live drone feed displayed a convoy of black vehicles heading toward the industrial zone.

"Torsen's men," she said. "They're searching for us."

Riven stood up. "Then we move before they get here."

Lirian grinned. "I was hoping we'd get some rest, but fine. Let's go ruin their night instead."

Riven pulled on his weapon belt. "We end this chase. Now."

The hunt wasn't over. It was just beginning.
