Morning

In a quiet and peaceful condominium, there is a house occupied by only two people.

It's me, Rose, and my tall brother, Kai. We live together after our family passed away in an accident. I am still in high school, while he dropped out to pay for my school fees and daily needs.

The problem is, he is a lazy person—lazy to eat, lazy to wake up, and the most annoying thing is that he is a siscon (sister complex).

As usual, today I need to make him breakfast and wake him up from his sleep.

—-————

She needs to make his favorite food—rice with an omelette—but first, she has to go to the toilet to shower and brush her teeth.

She walks to the bathroom, picks up her toothbrush, and starts brushing her teeth. Then, she takes off her clothes and steps into the shower.

After 30 minutes, she finishes her shower, comes out, and heads to her room to get dressed in something simple, like a t-shirt and shorts.

She goes to the kitchen, puts on an apron, and takes the frying pan hanging on the kitchen wall, placing it on the gas stove.

Next, she prepares the ingredients:

- 1 cup cooked rice

- 2 eggs

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1/4 cup chopped vegetables (like bell peppers, onions, or tomatoes)

- 1 tablespoon oil or butter

- Soy sauce or ketchup

First, she beats the eggs in a bowl and seasons them with salt and pepper. Then, she heats the oil in the frying pan over medium heat.

After that, she adds the chopped vegetables to the pan and sautés them for a few minutes until they soften. She adds the cooked rice to the pan, mixing it well with the vegetables, and cooks it for about 2-3 minutes until the rice is heated through.

She pours the beaten eggs over the rice mixture, tilting the pan to ensure the egg spreads evenly. She cooks it for about 2 minutes. Once the eggs start to set, she lifts the edges with a spatula to let the uncooked eggs flow underneath.

When the eggs are mostly set, she folds the omelette in half or rolls it up, depending on her preference.

Finally, she slides the omelette onto a plate and drizzles it with soy sauce or ketchup.

She serves the food on the dining table, takes off her apron, and heads to Kai's room to wake her brother up.

She opens the door slowly, but the door makes a loud creaking sound—"kreeeeeekkkk"—

The tall young man is still asleep.

Even in his sleep, he looks handsome.

She glances at herself, feeling the stark difference between them.

She walks to his bed and, as expected from a sibling, she smacks her brother's stomach.

"Urghh..!"

Kai wakes up from the impact, clutching his stomach in pain. He rolls left and right, groaning.

Rose starts to feel worried seeing her brother writhing in discomfort. She approaches him and tries to calm him down.

But Kai was lying. He grabs Rose's hand and locks her neck in a playful headlock. Rose struggles to free herself, but it's useless.

She taps her brother's arm, admitting defeat. Kai releases her.

She starts catching her breath.

"Arhhhh... It hurts, you know? I'm lucky I didn't die."

Kai doesn't care about her words. He flexes his arm muscles and squeezes them, showing off.

"Man never underestimates his opponent. We always go all in."

She's annoyed by her brother's antics and turns to leave the room, but suddenly, her feet no longer feel the floor, and she feels like she's floating in the air.

Her brother has lifted her up from behind using his arms. She tries to move her legs, but it's useless, and she has no choice but to surrender.

Kai starts making a sound:

"Chuuu... chuuu..."

She feels a little embarrassed, but that's just how their life is. Then, she makes a sound:

"Pon... pon..."

Their human train starts moving toward the dining table. Once they reach the table, he lifts her up with one hand, pulls out a chair, and places her down on it.

He walks to the other side of the table, sits down, and starts eating the rice omelette she made.

One bite after another, the food disappears into his mouth, and Rose waits eagerly for her brother's reaction to the meal she prepared.

Her eyes are shining as she swings her legs under the table.

Kai puts his spoon down on the plate, places both hands together in front of his face, and rests his elbows on the table. He closes his eyes, and Rose waits anxiously for the verdict.

"It's... tasted like shit."

He says with a serious face, without hesitation.

Rose makes a pouty face.

"Oh, it's not tasty, huh? Give it back to me then."

She tries to take back the food she made for her brother earlier. Her hand reaches for the plate at the far end of the table where her brother is sitting, but she only manages to wiggle her hand because she can't reach it.

Kai watches her antics and laughs. He quickly finishes the food in one big bite and hands the plate back to his sister.

"Okay, this is for you. Go wash the plate. I wanna go back to sleep."

He gets up from his seat and heads toward his room while adjusting his pants that got stuck in his butt crack.

Rose, watching her brother's behavior, shakes her head.

"Why did our late mom marry Kai's dad? And then you two left me with this kind of stepbrother..."

Rose remembers the first time they met.

"I thought only his father was tall, but he's even taller than his dad. I don't know why mom had a taste for giant people like this."

But before this, he was kind of an introverted person, always staying in his room. After our family died, he changed drastically, even dropping out of school just to support me.

"Someday, when I'm all grown up, I hope he won't worry about me anymore and can live happily with someone he loves."

She had been lost in thought for a while, but suddenly her mind snapped back to reality. She cleaned up the dining table, wiped it down, and carried the plates to the sink.

She turned on the water, grabbed the dish soap, and started washing the plates until they were clean.

"Ding Dong."

The doorbell rang.

She heard the sound, turned off the water, and paused her dishwashing for a moment.

"Wait, I'm coming!"

She walked to the door, where a delivery guy was standing.

"Is Kai here? There's a package for him."

"Oh, wait, he's in his room. Can I sign for it?"

The delivery guy nodded and handed her a pen to sign. As she signed, he kept staring at her face, and his heart began to flutter at her beauty.

"Errghh, can you give your number here too?"

Rose, unsuspecting, just nodded and looked for a place to write her phone number.

Before she could even start writing, Kai appeared from behind, his towering height slightly exceeding the doorframe. He lifted Rose up effortlessly.

"What do you mean by asking for her number, bro?"

The delivery guy looked at Kai as if he were a giant standing right in front of him. "Errhh, it's nothing!" He quickly grabbed the pen and ran away.

Kai closed the door while carrying Rose back into the house. They sat down on the living room sofa and placed the package on the table.

The two of them stared at the package for a long time. But when it felt like they had been staring for too long, Rose finally spoke up.

"Bro, aren't you gonna open it?" Her tone sounded almost like a guy's.

Kai knocked her head lightly.

"Ouch, ouch!" She rubbed her head.

"It's not that I don't want to open it, but I didn't order anything this week. Who do you think sent this? It's kinda weird."

They kept staring at the package again...

"You should open it, Rose. This time, I'll give you the chance to open my stuff."

They passed the box back and forth, and suddenly, with her black glasses on, Rose tried to open the box.

"Are you sure, Kai? Don't you want to open this? It's for you."

She glanced to her side, only to find that her brother had disappeared and was now standing at the far end of the wall.

"This motherf——er doesn't care about me. What if it's a bomb and I die?" She was furious.

She opened the brown box sealed with yellow tape, the sound of "kreek kreek" echoing as the box was torn apart.

"Shuuuush..." A strong gust of wind burst out from inside the box. The pressure was slow at first, but gradually, objects around the house began to move, slowly being pulled toward the box.

"What's happening?" Rose, confused by the strange phenomenon, held tightly to the table in front of her.

As time passed, the whirlwind from the box grew stronger, sucking in everything around it.

Kai, who had finally noticed what was happening, quickly jumped onto the sofa and pulled Rose away from the box. He tried to run toward the door, but the suction force of the wind was too strong.

He reached for the wall near the bedroom door and slowly tried to make his way outside, but he wasn't moving at all.

Rose, who was clinging to her brother from behind, started to float. Her legs were being pulled toward the whirlwind.

"We can't do this, Kai. Shit, if I knew we'd die like this, I should've spent more time with you."

Kai was also starting to lose strength. Little by little, his grip loosened, and finally, he turned his body and hugged Rose tightly as they were both sucked into the whirlwind and pulled into the box.

After everything happened, the box closed on its own and transformed into a book. On the cover of the book, it was written:

New World .
