Just as the glass was about to touch her lips, it slipped from Amelia's hands, hit the floor, and smashed into pieces. Luckily, the place where they were standing was not crowded, and the music was still playing in the background, so no one noticed.
"I'm so sorry," Amelia stepped back with wide eyes.
Violet looked like she was about to cry. She had used up all the drug given by Caroline Anderson's manager and put it in that glass. With a face full of helplessness and despair, she walked away without even looking at Amelia. Under the desperation, she shed the mask of kindness.
"You could have just declined the drink."
"That would have been impolite." Amelia grinned and followed behind Violet. With an amused face, Jazmine Harrison also followed her out of the hall.
At a distance, Amelia caught up to Violet.
