Chapter 4

Walking towards the way the kids go, i open the rice ball from the package and eat it. It's not appropriate to eat while walking, but well, who cares. I also brought coffee from the convenience store. It's actually quite good. I have never eaten a rice ball before, but it's good. Also, usually i don't like black coffee, but somehow this body wants it. I unconsciously pick black coffee. Probably it's another habit from this body. It's quite annoying, but there's no other way beside accepting it.

After walking for a while, i finish my food and found the children entering a building. It's a newspaper building. While walking to the entrance, i meet Conan who also about to go inside the building in a hurry. His face is full of concern.

"Conan-kun." I call him and he stopped running. "What's wrong? Why are you in a hurry? And your face looks pale, you know."

"Uncle! Please hurry, the kids are in danger!"

"What?"

"There's no time to explain! Just hurry up!"

Without taking another second, Conan rushed into the building. We go to the stairs and climb up to the second floor. While on the way to the second floor, we met a fat guy who seemed to be guarding the room. When he Saw us, he took the gun from the holster and pointed it towards us.

Conan who Saw that prepared to use his anesthesia needles to take him down, but before that happened, I sped up and in a second I was already in front of him. I parry his hand which holding the gun and punch him in the face, thus making him unconscious.

Conan who Saw what just happened squinted his eyebrows, probably thinking who I was.

Conan who has incredible observation skill should realize the way I move just now was not ordinary. It looks like someone who trained for years in fighting could achieve. In fact, I was also surprised by what happened just now. I was thinking I should subdue that person quickly and my body just moved on it's own.

When both of us were pondering what just happened, we Heard the kids' voices coming from the room. When we peek inside the room, we Saw a woman holding a gun pointing it at the kids. There are also two other men who are restraining the kids while they struggle to try to break free from them. But alas, the power of a kid couldn't win against an adult's power.

I looked around and found a Paint Can lying around so I picked it. I quickly open the door and throw the Can into the woman's hand that holding the gun. The woman, stunned by the sudden interference, couldn't react, thus the Can hit her hand.

"W-what?! Who are you?!"

"Pointing a gun at kids is not good for their mental health, you know? You guys sure look lively. Did something good happen?" I side while poofing the smoke from my cigarette. "Well, whatever it is, it's still wrong to point a gun towards people. So please be careful next time, right, Conan-kun?"

"I see, because your artist got injured, you force Toshiya's brother to continue the progress, huh." Conan said with confidence. His glasses seem to reflect the light, making it harder to see his eyes. I never Saw this kind of thing in real life before, so seeing it now makes me kinda surprised.

"You are planning to change them into a lot of cash by using them in horse races, pachinko and so on. And when you are about to be found out, you can just flee away to a far place and repeat the circle, right?"

"Like I said, who the hell are you?! And what happened to Inuyama!? He should be guarding the room!"

"Edogawa Conan, a detective."

"And also for your other question. I guess Inuyama is that fat guy, right? He is right there unconscious because I knocked him out."

Hearing that, the lady tried to take the gun on the floor once again, but before she could reach it, Haibara Ai took the gun and pulled the trigger. Fortunately, she didn't aim it to her head, instead she aimed it beside her head.

The people in the room seem shocked, including me.

I mean, seeing a child shoot a gun towards a grown man, who wasn't shocked at such a scene?

The police who coincidentally nearby, after hearing the gunshot he rushes to the scene. Not long after that, inspector Megure arrived at the scene.

While arresting the criminals, Conan talk to the lady about Black Organization while mentioning Gin and Vodka. But unfortunately, the lady was not a member of the Black Organization, so when she heard Conan mentioning about Gin and Vodka, she thought he was referring to alcohol.

After that, Megure yelled at Haibara Ai after knowing she used the gun. But Haibara Ai with her acting, pretends to cry and make Inspector Megure flustered.

After everything get taken care of, everyone goes their separate ways. I honestly want to follow Haibara and Conan to see what happens next since if i'm right, she should reveal her identity to him. But alas, i need to go to the police station as a witness.
