Monster Wave - Part One

On the other side, in the Monster Forest, Gobro was hunting monsters while also planning for his future. He knew that achieving a single simulation with 3000 or even 5000 evaluation points was incredibly difficult. It might take him a long time to accumulate that many points. Before that, he probably would just focus on continuously leveling up his skills.

However, his strength had improved, and now, the key was to survive as long as possible in the upcoming simulations. He could only live for a maximum of a decade or so each time, which wasn't enough. He hadn't even reached old age yet. He wondered how many points one would earn from dying of old age. Oh, and he needed to find a wife! He had already done four simulations and died single each time. After all, he was a transmigrator! Was this how it should be?

Clearly, this was not acceptable. While he thought about this, the sky gradually darkened. He had already killed twelve monsters, two of which were wild boars with relatively large bodies. The others were smaller. Gobro hadn't expended much effort to drag their carcasses back.

On his way back, Gobro noticed that Gobra had already returned with the hunting team. Thanks to what he had learned from Gobro about teamwork, today they had caught more prey than usual—nine in total. Though it was still fewer than Gobro's twelve, it was quite good. As for the ogre, his hunting efficiency wasn't bad either, but since he was alone, he only managed to bring back four.

After thinking for a moment, Gobro decided to keep five smaller monsters for himself. The ogre would be fine with his four. Starting from today, he would become self-sufficient. The rest of the food would go to the goblins, since they had never been full before. Gobro planned to let them indulge today, but that wouldn't be the case every day.

"Eat these food," Gobro said, pointing at the pile in front of him.

Upon hearing Gobro's words, the goblins froze for a moment before rushing toward the food in a frenzy. Gobro had originally planned to teach them how to cook meat, but seeing them like this, he decided to postpone the lesson until tomorrow.

After taking out the twenty-five magic crystals, Gobro returned to the cave with five monster carcasses for himself. The goblins didn't show any gratitude for his gifts.

Gobro wasn't surprised by this, as no one had taught them such things, but he didn't immediately stop them. Instead, he decided to let them go wild for a day. Starting tomorrow, he planned to first teach Gobra and Gobli, then pick out eight more goblins to teach how to manage the tribe.

Back in the cave, Gobro quickly began skinning the monsters and cleaning off the blood. He then gathered some twigs to start a fire, intending to have roasted meat for dinner. He hadn't had the conditions before, but now that he was the leader of the tribe, he couldn't neglect himself. He had to live like someone of his position.

The only challenge was that, without metal tools, he had to use his claws to skin the monsters.

'Snap, snap!'

Listening to the sound of the twigs burning, Gobro stared at the roasting meat in a daze. Ever since his transmigration, he had been striving to grow stronger to survive, never pausing for a moment. Now, alone and in peace, he was finally able to feel the reality of being a goblin.

Looking at the green skin on his hands, he took a deep breath but still didn't have the courage to look at himself by the lake.

'Forget it. As long as my strength increases, there will always be changes. Evolving into a big goblin should be much better than this.'

As he thought, the meat began to release a faint aroma. Since he had no seasoning, he chose some wild fruit, ground them into a jam, and spread it over the meat, hoping it would give the roast more flavor.

Soon, the smell of roasting meat wafted out of the cave. Gobro glanced toward the entrance and saw that the cave was now crowded with goblins. Their eager eyes made it clear.

Their target was the handsome Gobro.

'Yeah, that must be it. These guys are eyeing my good looks. Looks like I'm quite handsome after all.'

To make roasting easier, Gobro had cut the meat into smaller pieces. It didn't take long before he had roasted a large amount of meat.

"Back to training. If tomorrow's training results and hunting results satisfy me, I might consider letting you eat some of this meat."

As he spoke, Gobro took a piece of meat with a slightly golden surface and put it in his mouth. The sound of chewing came from his mouth. The goblins outside swallowed hungrily but didn't dare to rush forward.

At the same time, they remembered Gobro's words: if they did what he asked, they would get to eat the delicious meat.

"I don't like being watched while eating," Gobro said coldly.

However, not a single goblin left. Clearly, they didn't understand Gobro's meaning. If he didn't like it, that was his problem. What did it have to do with them? They didn't even realize that Gobro was talking about them.

"Get back to sleep!" Gobro suddenly shouted.

This time, they understood. Seeing Gobro's furious expression, all the goblins hurried back to their caves. Yes, they literally rolled back to their caves. As for the ogre, since Gobro had occupied the cave, to prevent it from killing the goblins, Gobro told him to sleep outside until he dug a new cave.

After driving the little brats away, Gobro continued to roast meat. The meat, brushed with wild fruit jam, tasted delicious. He thought the flavor was pretty good. Once he found iron, he could make a pot and cook some meat soup, which seemed like a good idea.

With that in mind, he finished eating the remaining meat and immediately started the next simulation.

'Die of old age, I must die of old age this time.'
