I felt whatever blood I had lost, flow back into my body, revitalising my body and mind.
It was as if nothing had happened.
Suddenly as quick as the bright light came, it disappeared and what I saw around me was a dense jungle of sorts and I was in some sort of clearing.
The air was unmistakably fresh, it was a stark contrast to the polluted, acrid air that plagued Brixton.
'Wow' was the only thing I could say as I looked around. It was around late evening, nearing night in this 'another world' I was in. The stars were speckled across the skys, it was as if I was looking at an ocean of glitter.
The ground was relatively hard, not how the ground should be in a jungle, as jungles were primarily moist environments so the ground had to be soft but it was almost akin to concrete.

I stared blankly at it as I thought what an earth a midnight hound is.
'Is it a dog or a wolf?'

A guttural growl emanated from the thick and dense jungle to my right.
I felt my heart drop as I saw what it was.
'What is that...?' I stammered out as my breathing hastened from fear.
To my right I saw a cerberus, it was the size of a minibus. Each of it's three heads baring their fangs at me as it dripped with saliva.
It was the most muscular dog I've ever seen and I lived in Brixton where XL bullies were the trend, so you know it was a very muscular dog.
It had scars and cuts all over its body a testament to its struggles and unrelenting will to survive.
HOW THE FUCK IS THAT THING A D- RANK!
I had just got given a second chance at life by this 'Aaravos' and now it was trying to kill me, Fuck you Aaravos.
Looking at it made me terrified of what an S rank monster may look like.
As I was momentarily lost in my fervor of fear, the Midnight Hound then launched itself at me, blitzing towards me at a frightening pace.
Before I knew it, it was right in of me as the head in the middle opened wide ready to bite.
Nope... Yeah nope, I bolted as soon as I saw it open its mouth, as it bit on nothing it got angry and all I did was run away.
CRASH!
'Did I run into a tree or wall'
I was on the ground with my face and left shoulder stinging from the impact, I swore I was running into the jungle, I got up and tried to walk and my heart dropped.
There was a barrier, it glowed an iridescent magenta around where I touched it. Just then Aaravos sent a system pop up.

It then dematerialised. I then slowly turned around to see the wicked cerberus glaring at me, furious that it's prey got away.
'Fuck... why don't I get an Inventory or anything' I thought.
As soon as the word 'inventory' crossed my mind.

My eyes gleamed with happiness as I saw the inventory; I almost started jumping with joy as I saw I had an iron dagger.
My happiness was short lived though as the Midnight Hound roared and started to dash towards me in fury.
Without skipping a beat I equipped the iron dagger and I leaped out of the way making he Midnight Hound slam face first into the barrier, leaving it quite dazed.
Taking advantage of its stunned state. I then run towards its side and plunge the newly equipped iron dagger just below the ribs and pushed it in with all of my bodyweight to inflict as much damage.
'Awwrrr' All three heads wailed in unison in response to the agonising pain, its movements a bit sluggish now.
I then without wasting this precious opportunity, I then drag the blade across its body,from below its ribs to the hip, the dagger tearing at any flesh in its path. Blood spewed like a faucet from the large gash I had left.
Oh no was it far from being over.
Just as I was revelling in my minor victory, I was dragged back to reality when I saw from the corner of my eye each of the Midnight Hound's heads glaring at me, all six eyes boring into my soul with pure rage and malice.
Slowly it turned to face me, all three heads focusing solely on me.
'Oh Fuucsk-!'
Before I could even react, it kicked my me powerfully using its right front leg, sending my flying across the clearing and slamming into the barrier present there.
The impact with the barrier was brutal, whatever air was in my lungs was forcefully and completely ripped out. I felt agonizing pain in my chest, that one kick had broken a few ribs and had fractured my sternum.
I felt the metallic taste of my blood once again on my palate, blood trickled down my chin, dripping onto my white school shirt, blotches of red polluting the white fabric.
As I tried to regain my footing and my bearing I saw a ping from Aaravos.

FUCK, just one hit caused that amount of damage. I was done for if it hit me one more time. I eyed the overgrown mutt as we stood on opposite ends of the clearing.
I knew at this moment that this was the deciding factor of this battle. Either I would die for good or I would put this mutt in its place.
I gripped the dagger hard, my knuckles going white from the strain.
'Fuuuuuuu...' I took a deep breath and focused my gaze upon the Midnight Hound.
It reciprocated by getting into a stance, eyeing me with pure malice for what I had done to it.
'I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!' I roared.
I then sprinted full speed towards it and so does the Midnight Hound. The both of us run at each other at full speed.
As it gets closer to my all three head bare its fangs and open wide to bite my cranium right off. It's teeth now only inches away.
'Skkkkkkdd'
'sshuaaaa'
'squelchhh'
At the last second, I perform a floor slide as i glide across the earth as it ran over me, fooled by my feint. As I slide underneath its hulking mass, I plunge the dagger into its abdomen and I slid on the ground and it ran over me, the momentum of the both of us allowed me to create a deep and life-ending cut across its abdomen.
After I slid under the beast, I immediately stood up and focused my gaze upon it.
'ugghhhrra' It groaned as it's soul left its vessel
The cut was so deep in fact to my own shock... I disemboweled it. It's intestines spilled through the cut and splayed across the ground, blood gushing out of it. It wobbled on its feet as it tried to turn to face me.
Thud...
It crashed onto the ground with a huff as it drew it's last breath.
'FUCK YESSSS!' I wailed, tears were welling up in my eyes as I was terrified throughout the entirety of the encounter. I was relieved, to put it bluntly utterly and irrevocably relieved.
With a harmonious ping, my victory was acknowledged by Aaravos.
