=================================

As I gazed upon the completion pop up that Aaravos gave, my eyes gleamed with joy.

One was because I just survived a near death experience and two I LEVELED UP BABY AND I GOT A SKILL!

I would be lying if I told you I didn't feel like a main character like 'Soul Inheritance' how cool does that sound.

As I revelled in my achievements, I was left with a question...

"What's a 'Skill Deck'"

As soon as I said that Aaravos sent another pop up of a new screen I hadn't seen before.

=================================

'Wow...'

I can use a total of 6 skills simultaneously, but I can only use 3 now and the other 3 I need to level up to use it.

Eh makes sense, Aaravos doesn't want me to be OP from the start... Wait a minute...

"Aara-"

'Oh yeah I can use my mind to talk to Aaravos... Keumm... Keumm... Aaravos why does 'Soul Inheritance have a padlock next to it?'

I waited for an answer and then with a harmonious ping Aaravos replied.

=================================

Soul Inheritance is a permanent skill you have

In simple terms

It's a skill that when you get it you can never

unequip it from your deck

That's why there is a '🔒' next to it.

[OK]

=================================

I nod as I understand why...

'Ok'

The pop up dissipates.

'Wait... What does 'Soul Inheritance even do?'

'Aaravos open 'Soul Inheritance''s details.'

After I thought the command after a few seconds with another harmonious ping Aarovos complied.

=================================

-Soul Inheritance [??? Rank]-

Soul Inheritance allows you to steal the skill of

an enemy you defeat that is stronger than you

and adds it to the 'Skill Deck'

You can only steal 1 skill per enemy

!ONLY STEALS FROM STRONGER ENEMIES!

=================================

As I read that pop up, my jaw involuntarily fell to the floor.

'That's basically a cheat skill!, Isn't that neat...'

But when I read that it only works on enemies stronger than me I frowned.

'Oh... bummer...'

As I glanced at the Midnight Hound's corpse strewn on the floor I frowned even more.

'I can't even get a skill from that overgrown dog since I killed it before I even got the skill.'

As I was wallowing in my disappointment another pop up came from Aaravos.

=================================

Tutorial Quest 1 barrier disabled

You can leave the Tutorial Zone Amura

=================================

That was more than enough to make my mood skyrocket.

'I can finally explore this new world I'm in... wait... Where am I?'

I looked around at my surroundings, I was still in the jungle but... Where?

I waited for any pop ups from Aaravos, one came but not the one I was looking forward to.

=================================

=================================

As I read the message I felt my mood sour, I was still excited at the prospect of ranking up but I did just finish A VERY VERY HARD QUEST, so more work... ugh.

And 1 hour of training for 1 point of any stat... fuuuuckk....

'Ok'

The pop up dissipates and I'm left alone in the wild expanse of the jungle I was surrounded by.

'Map, Map, Map...'

I kept thinking the word 'Map' since I though Aaravos would at least give me that but... Nah nada nothing... It really left me alone.

-Fwoosh

I felt a cold gentle breeze on my features as I looked up at the sky being reminded that it was now night.

The moon shone brightly in the night sky, more brightly than it did in my original world, that may be due to a lack of global dimming and light pollution.

'Beautiful'

I was in a minor trance from the beauty of the night sky but I soon refocused on my now current goal.

'Survive and get stronger'

I then began to walk out of the clearing into the wilderness up head.

I gulped as I mentally prepared to fight for survival, walking through the dense foliage, I observed my surroundings.

There were a few animals in the distance but from the silhouettes I could tell that they weren't monsters like the Midnight Hound. One silhouette, a quadrupedal animal leant its head down and ate at the grass.

'Fuuuuu'

I sighed in relief.

'A herbivore, I won't be hurt by it.'

-ggggrrrrrrr

I felt my stomach rumble and realised... I hadn't ate for a long time. The last time I ate was in school's lunchtime in my previous world.

I then looked at the animal with different eyes.

'Food...'

I then proceeded to move closer towards it as it munched on the crisp green grass. I crouch walked slowly not it alert in any shape or form.

I started to recollect the few times Henry, my foster parent, actually acted the role. One time in the summer when I was around 12 he took me out for hunting and showed me how to hunt, skin and butcher animals along with many other survivalist skills.

'Even a broken clock can be right once in a while... fuck... thanks I guess you tubby cunt.'

As I drew closer, I started to make out what the animal was.

'ahhhh a deer... it looks weird'

The animal was akin to a deer but it was much larger than the ones I saw in my previous world, its antlers were also much larger than a normal deer's it was more twisted as well. It also had a dark green coat, the hairs flowing in tandem with the gentle breeze.

It just looked regal, elegant, majestic even. Like if it was a noble of sorts.

'Hehehe, too bad you're gonna be my dinner now'

Slowly I equipped my iron dagger from the inventory and gripped it tightly in my hand.

As soon I was within 5 meters of it, I slowed down significantly to a creeping pace. I slowly approached it from behind, controlling the rate of my breathing to make sure that I don't give myself away.

It was oblivious to my advances, a poor creature going to be someone's dinner, oh so sad... Too bad blame the circle of life.

As soon I was in arms reach, I leapt towards it and wrapped one arm at its neck as I used my legs to kick at its feet to hinder its movement, remember this was much larger than any normal deer as I had to do whatever I could.

The deer-like creature started jumping erratically trying to shake me off but I held onto it with a vice-like grip. It bleated in anger as I wouldn't fall off.

I then take my chance and then haphazardly stab at its neck with the dagger. In, out, in, out. Slowly life drained from it, its movements became sluggish and slow. Its blood staining my blazer sleeve, making it darken.

Soon it fell to the ground as I jumped off its side as I then put it out of its misery by slitting its throat. As blood gushed out of the slit polluting the green grass in a dark crimson, I knew I had to act quick as the scent of blood may attract predators or worse monsters.

I then spend about 5-10 minutes cutting off one of it's legs, cutting through the thick muscle and tendons, after I was done I had a leg which had the length that spanned from my feet to my shoulders and I am 6ft1 so that's BIG.

I then carry the leg of what I called venison and marched off leaving the corpse of the deer-like creature for the predators of the jungle to feast upon.

I then just trekked through the dense jungle until I came across a cave of sorts, it was tall enough to fit me and small enough to ward my suspicions of there being monsters in there.

I then make my way towards the cave and lay the large leg near its entrance as I then started to find some twigs, branches and bark to make a small fire to cook the meat over.

I spend about 10 minutes procuring what I needed, I then seated myself a distance away from the leg as it was still bleeding from where I amputated it from making a pool of blood where it was.

I then take off both of my shoes and take out the shoelaces. I then use branch that had a bow like shape and another branch which was more straighter along with the shoelaces to make a bow drill.

I then lay a piece of bark in front of my placed the tip of the drill on the centre of the bark.

'Got to give credit where credit's due, Henry taught me well.'

I then started to drill on the wood, the friction between the two pieces of dry wood slowly started to heat it up, I kept drilling with all of my strength and slowly there were a few embers.

Without wasting a second I place a few broken up twigs on it, slowly making the embers into a small flame.

'Haha finally some warmth.'

I then slowly added larger and larger pieces of timber till the fire was a decent size of where I could cook meat on it.

Unbeknownst to me, something in the cave which I had no knowledge off was disturbed greatly by the flames from my campfire.

I slowly stood up, its red eyes glowing maliciously in the darkness as its gaze fell upon me.

"SHRIIIIIIIIII" It bellowed.
