Chapter 50: Phase Two, Increased Difficulty

Lin Moyu's heart skipped a beat. The skeleton warriors formed a shield-like defensive line, piling on top of each other like a human pyramid, firmly protecting Lin Moyu.

Meteor-like fireballs crashed onto the skeleton warriors, exploding into a sky full of sparks, a dazzling sight.

Lin Moyu was very clear about his own weaknesses. His constitution was too poor; if he were to take a strong attack, a massive amount of damage would transfer to the skeleton warriors, causing them severe harm. However, if the skeleton warriors took the hits for him, the outcome would be completely different. With their strong constitutions and high defense, they could almost ignore such damage.

Standing behind the skeleton warriors, Lin Moyu's gaze fell on the orc army appearing in front of him. A group of Flin Orangemage casters were waving their wands, launching fire rain attacks; a large number of Flin Orcwarriors were charging over with their weapons. These monsters appeared silently, without any warning.

A curve formed on Lin Moyu's lips: "Who cares how they appear? It's good not to wait for them to respawn."

The mage monsters in the back kept casting spells, and the fire rain never stopped. To ensure his safety, Lin Moyu had ten skeletons form a shield to block the mage attacks; at the same time, he sent out ten more skeletons to confront the orc warriors.

"Skills!" He ordered in his heart, and the skeleton warriors' hands lit up with red light.

Frenzy Strike!

With the skeleton warriors' high strength attribute of 5000, using a skill doubled their attack power. The Flin Orcwarriors were taken down one by one.

Lin Moyu's palm glowed, and a roaring sound erupted as the corpses explosions spread wildly. The Flin Orcwarriors fell like ripe wheat. In just a few seconds, over a hundred charging Flin Orcwarriors were already mostly dead or wounded.

Ten skeleton warriors pounced on the Flin Orangemages like lightning. With a speed of 5000 agility, the huge attribute gap made the skeleton warriors appear as blurs to Lin Moyu. In the blink of an eye, they had crossed dozens of meters and appeared in front of the Flin Orangemages, cutting them down one by one. The Flin Orangemages' constitutions were weaker than the warriors, making them easy targets for the skeleton warriors.

The fire rain disappeared, and everything returned to calm once again.

It was peaceful around Lin Moyu, but in the Trial Tower control room, several examiners were still staring with wide eyes. Lin Moyu's score had only paused for a dozen seconds before soaring again like a rocket. 14,605 points, in less than ten seconds, his score increased by 6,000 points. This meant another 120 monsters had been killed by Lin Moyu.

The two instances had already made a statement.

"This guy has an AoE skill."

"This profession is going to be overpowered. The single-target skills are already crazy, and the AoE skills are just as insane."

"It's not just the powerful skills; the summons are equally strong."

"I think this profession has surpassed the legendary level and can be compared to those few professions."

"We can't say that for now; after all, the level is still low, and we need to see how it goes in the future."

Being strong at a low level doesn't mean being strong at a high level. Being weak at a low level also doesn't mean being weak at a high level. Some professions are always mediocre until they acquire a certain divine skill, becoming irreplaceable.

There is a profession that is usually useless, but once war breaks out, it becomes god-like. All its skills are legion-wide AoE skills. Having such a profession in an army can double the entire army's combat effectiveness.

Lin Moyu was unaware of the examiners' thoughts. At this moment, he heard a roar, and the entire ground shook several times, as if there was an earthquake. The corpses disappeared in the shaking, as if swallowed by the earth. An invisible gas emanated from the ground, making the air even bloodier and bringing a stench that made one want to vomit. The sky became even darker and more oppressive.

"Phase Two," Lin Moyu looked towards the sky. He seemed very adapted to this atmosphere and didn't feel disgusted at all, perhaps related to his profession. The breath of death didn't make him uncomfortable; it was just the increasingly heavy stench that he didn't like.

The ground shaking gradually stopped, and Lin Moyu had the skeleton warriors surround him, staying alert to the surroundings.

Seconds later, footsteps sounded.

"They're here!" Lin Moyu thought to himself.

Suddenly, a large number of monsters appeared around him. The monsters emerged from all directions, forming squads of five.

Flin Orcwarrior

Level: 16

Flin Orcarcher

Level: 16

Each squad had a ratio of 3:2, with three warriors and two archers. Both the warriors and archers were level 16. At least forty squads were scattered around. From a distance, it looked like Lin Moyu was surrounded.

Entering Phase Two, not only did the monster level increase by one, but the number also doubled. Lin Moyu wasn't worried about this. To him, they were just level 16 monsters. Even without using corpse explosions, just twenty skeleton warriors could take their time to kill all these guys.

He was thinking about another problem: "Judging by this difficulty, it will be hard for other professions to get through Phase Two. Even if they can, it will take a lot of time."

The difficulty of Phase One didn't seem high to Lin Moyu; with some effort, most professions could get through it. Phase Two was much harder; just an increase of one level and doubling the monsters, these two changes were enough to make the difficulty increase several times. The appearance of archers, known as the natural enemies of mages, would deter most mage-class professions.
