Chapter 5 – Pure Star Brilliance Armament

There are three buildings in Beauxbaton Academy.

The buildings for the middle school, high school, and university are separate, surrounded by a large atrium. Together with the student dormitories and other facilities, the entire campus covers a very large area—larger than some aristocratic colleges outside the city.

Erend walked into the largest high school building, passing by some students who had not yet left the building.

His destination was the top floor of the building.

There was an office here.

This was the office of the Student Union.

"Isn't it right?"

Standing in front of the door to the Student Union's office, Erend sorted out his thoughts, then reached out and pressed the reminder bell next to the door.

"Ding—"

As a completely black video window unfolded out of thin air, Erend heard a voice.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

It was a cold, mechanical voice, undoubtedly a pre-set intelligent answering program.

Erend raised his eyebrows slightly.

"It's quite advanced…"

After muttering, Erend gave a concise answer.

"I'm Erend, a freshman in the senior department, and I'm here to apply for the use of Pure Star Brilliance Armament."

After Erend's words fell, there was a period of silence in the window.

"Please come in."

After a while, another voice came out of the window.

This was different from the artificial intelligence from before—this voice carried a trace of emotion.

The voice was sweet, but there was an indescribable calmness to it.

"Shh!"

The automatic door in front of Erend slid open, revealing a space so vast that it was unimaginable to think it was just the Student Union Office.

Erend paused for a moment, then walked in.

The floor was covered with dark brown carpets, and the room was furnished with a full set of leather tables and chairs for receptions. On the wall hung a distant view of Beauxbaton Academy, giving it an air of extravagance.

At the deepest part of the office, the wall was replaced by a huge glass window, providing a panoramic view of the city's streets from a high vantage point, as if one were overlooking a meticulously crafted model.

In front of the glass window, a heavy oak desk stood.

Behind the desk, a girl sat there.

She had dazzling blonde hair.

Her golden locks weren't smooth but curled into large waves. She exuded a calm and composed aura, possessing a beauty that immediately captured Erend's gaze. She was undoubtedly an extraordinary beauty.

"I am the Student Council President of Beauxbaton Academy, Claudia Enfield."

The girl introduced herself with a poised smile that perfectly matched her atmosphere and greeted Erend, who had just walked in.

"Welcome to the Student Council, Erend."

Hearing this, Erend did not respond immediately but instead observed the other party discreetly.

"Is she Claudia?"

Claudia Enfield, the Student Council President of Beauxbaton Academy, was also a first-year student in the senior department, just like Erend.

However, unlike the "ordinary" Erend, Claudia had an impressive reputation at Beauxbaton Academy.

She wasn't just the Student Union President—she was also the second-ranked Baby Boomer Generation student in the entire academy.

Her parents were influential figures in the Integrated Corporate Consortium "Galaxy", making her a top-tier elite with strength, beauty, and an unparalleled family background.

At the same time, Claudia was also one of the heroines in the original work, and her popularity even surpassed that of the official first heroine.

For Erend, meeting her here felt like stepping into the world of the second dimension, encountering a legendary heroine in real life.

Fortunately, Erend had mentally prepared himself before coming and did not lose composure.

"Hello, President Enfield."

Erend bowed slightly, maintaining a composed demeanor before Claudia.

"Just call me Claudia." The other party clearly didn't notice Erend's inner thoughts. With a polite smile, she continued, "I've received the report. You're here to apply for the right to use the Pure Star Brilliance Armament, correct?"

"Yes." Erend nodded. "It is said that, in theory, any student of the academy can apply to the Student Union for the right to use Pure Star Brilliance Armament."

"So, I'd like to trouble the president."

The so-called Pure Star Brilliance Armament was similar to Heavy Colour Weapons, as both were transformation energy weapons made from Universal Elements.

However, while the core of Heavy Colour Weapons was Universal Ore, the core of Pure Star Brilliance Armament was Universal Crystal.

This Universal Crystal had a far higher purity than Universal Ore, making it extremely rare. It not only contained an immense amount of energy but also had unique abilities.

Compared to ordinary Heavy Colour Weapons, those crafted using Universal Crystals were significantly more powerful and granted users special abilities, drastically enhancing their combat prowess.

Knowing this, Erend naturally set his sights on acquiring one of these Pure Star Brilliance Armaments.

Unfortunately…

"In theory, any student is eligible to apply for a Pure Star Brilliance Armament," Claudia acknowledged, before subtly shifting her tone.

"However, as a student of this academy, Erend should know that this is only a theoretical statement, correct?"

Indeed, it was only theoretical.

In practice, obtaining a Pure Star Brilliance Armament from the academy was nowhere near as easy as obtaining a Heavy Colour Weapon.

"Unlike ordinary Heavy Colour Weapons, Pure Star Brilliance Armaments are exceptionally rare and highly unique, so most are directly managed by the Integrated Enterprise Consortium."

"The consortium only provides a limited number of Pure Star Brilliance Armaments to various university campuses and lends them to select Baby Boomer Generation students for use. Students are granted usage rights, but ownership remains with the consortium."

"One of their main objectives in doing this is to collect usage data on these weapons."

"After all, unlike Heavy Colour Weapons, Pure Star Brilliance Armaments choose their own wielders—not everyone can use them."

Claudia's words contained a wealth of information, but Erend had already researched this beforehand.

Each Pure Star Brilliance Armament was said to possess its own consciousness and would only bond with a chosen wielder.

Without approval from the weapon itself, one couldn't wield a Pure Star Brilliance Armament.

Claudia patiently explained this to Erend while tactfully making a point.

"Although every student can apply, due to the immense value, rarity, and complexity of these weapons, the academy's review process is highly stringent."

"If you're highly ranked in the academy or have performed well in the Star Martial Festival, your application is more likely to be approved."

"But Erend… I believe your chances of passing are low."

At this moment, Erend realized that Claudia had already researched his background.

Perhaps, before he had even stepped into the office, she had already reviewed his performance in the academy.

She knew Erend's records—his mediocre performance at Beauxbaton Academy meant that, in her eyes, his application would likely be rejected.

But Erend had already anticipated this.

"Please help me apply."

His voice was steady.

"Alright." Claudia saw that Erend was not backing down and nodded with a smile. "I'll submit your application through the Student Union. You may return and await further notice."

"Thank you."

Erend bowed slightly again before turning around.

As he did so, Claudia couldn't see the subtle glint in his eyes.

A faint pulse of power surged from Erend's body.

"——"

In an instant, a fluctuation of energy—so faint that no normal human could perceive it—emerged from Erend.

"Hmm?"

At the same time, Claudia's previously calm expression shifted slightly.
