She had no doubt that he had that ability! A strange sense of fear spread from the depths of her heart.

As if sensing her fear, he slowly straightened up, those jet-black phoenix eyes fixed firmly on her.

They were very close. She could easily see her own face in his dark pupils. She stood there, stunned, her mind blank until his voice came again, low and soft, "You don't need to be afraid of me, maybe... in this world, the person you least need to fear is me."

But before she could think it through, he suddenly released his arms and headed straight for the stairs to the second floor, leaving Mabel Quinn, Caleb, and Kyle Kinston's bodyguards looking at each other in dismay.
