Scene 41 Traitor

"Brando, Roman might be telling the truth." Freya reminded him from the side.

Brando certainly knew that Roman could be telling the truth; he had already witnessed her keen perception. However, he thought to himself that he was just making a joke to lighten the mood. Future Valkyrie, if you always take everything so seriously, you'll age quickly.

He couldn't help but glance back at Roman. The merchant girl also withdrew her gaze to look at him. Honestly, her curious gaze sometimes made people feel a bit embarrassed—especially those with a guilty conscience.

But Brando genuinely liked this girl. Seeing it from his perspective, she seemed particularly endearing.

He thought for a moment and then replied, "Let's stop here for a while."

"Stop for a while?" Freya asked. "But the Madara army is right behind us. At most, they'll catch up with us in two or three hours. We don't have much time, Brando."
