Chapter 6: Husband is So Gentle

"Don't touch!"

The voice wasn't loud but carried an unyielding force, causing Wen Nuan's heart to tremble slightly and making her nervous again. The Leng Family's Second Young Master was indeed strange; he turned off the lights upon entering, and even forbade her from turning them on.

"My eyes aren't feeling well today; I don't want to turn on the lights for fear of hurting them. Come over slowly, alright?" In the darkness, Leng Yan's voice was gently laughing, although his eyes harbored a genuine flicker of disgust and coldness.

Oh, so that's it.

Wen Nuan let out a sigh of relief, leaning against the door. She stayed there for a moment, allowing her eyes to gradually adjust to the darkness, faintly seeing a person standing against the wall.

Leng Yan took a deep breath and accurately grasped her soft hand. A smile spread across his lips, an expression clearly filled with disdain yet exuding complete gentleness, "I've been working hard these past few days to return early, so my hands are a bit sore. Could you help me take off my shirt?"

Help him...take off?

Wen Nuan's heart began to race, a blush creeping up her fair cheeks. Being held by a stranger already made her feel uncomfortable. And to help him...

"Unwilling?"

Leng Yan continued to smile, his voice softer: "You are my wife. Won't you even do this small favor for me?"

"Okay."

Now that they were married, she saw no reason to refuse such things. She was this man's wife, and in some matters, he had the right to ask, and she had the duty to fulfill.

Even if, in her heart, she still thought of that "him"...

Resolving herself, Wen Nuan reached towards him with slender arms. In the darkness, she could discern he was wearing a white shirt. Her soft hands slowly felt for his buttons, inadvertently brushing against the skin on his neck, causing her hand to lightly tremble as she took a deep breath and unbuttoned them one by one.

As the shirt opened, she accidentally fell into his embrace, instantly tensing up, her blush burning like a fiery sunset. The faint scent of wood and grass carried the unique aroma of a man, lingering at her nose, making her even more at a loss.

Instinctively, Wen Nuan wanted to pull away, but he held her tighter. Above her head came his low, indulgent laugh: "Are you shy?"

"I..."

Wen Nuan really wanted to bite off her tongue; she was too nervous and utterly awkward. Just thinking about doing that kind of thing with a person she had no feelings for made her head throb three times its size.

"We are husband and wife."

He articulated these two words clearly, marked with a different implication, a cold smile forming at the corners of his mouth.

Listening to his slightly hoarse yet incredibly pleasing voice, Wen Nuan was even more at a loss. Just as she wanted to say something, she found herself being lifted into the air. Leng Yan raised his handsome brows high, laughter once again spilling from his lips, "Don't worry, I'll be very gentle tonight."

Wen Nuan was placed in the center of the bed, her fingers tightly clutching the sheets, not knowing how to react for a moment. Especially hearing the sound of a belt, her heart became increasingly uneasy.

"Very nervous?" Leng Yan removed the obstacles from his body, leaning down with a smile in his cold, handsome eyes, "I can feel you trembling?"

"I...I'm scared."

If the lights were on, one could see Wen Nuan's face turning red enough to drip blood as she spoke, somewhat embarrassed.

Adapted to the darkness and being so close, Wen Nuan could see his deep eyes, like a piece of Black Jade, full of allure.

Her heart inexplicably stirred.
