The car ride home was silent. Nori sat curled against the window, wearing Ryusuke's coat, the scent of his cologne grounding him. Ryusuke kept his eyes on the road, jaw tight, hands clenched around the wheel.

When they finally arrived at his place, Nori stepped out without waiting for him to open the door. He walked ahead, shoulders tense.

Inside, Ryusuke shut the door behind them and leaned on it, watching Nori pace around the living room like a restless cat.

"You're mad," Nori muttered. "Of course, you're mad."

Ryusuke didn't answer.

"I didn't know it would be like that," Nori said, voice breaking. "I just wanted to see an old friend. I didn't know there'd be alphas everywhere and—" He swallowed. "That kind of party."

Ryusuke crossed the room in a few steps and reached for him, but Nori backed up. "Don't yell at me."

"I'm not going to yell."

"Then don't look at me like that."
