chapter 65 thinking of abortion

Later that day, the celebration settled into a quiet hum. People had things to do, after all—even if half the staff was still whispering about baby names behind paper screens.

Nori was lounging on a futon, finally given a moment of peace, when the door slid open softly. It was Madam Chiyo again, carrying a small box in her hands.

"This came earlier. From the young master," she said with a grin, setting it down in front of him.

Nori blinked. "Ryusoke?"

She bowed and slipped out, giving him privacy. Nori stared at the box a moment, suspicious. Then he opened it.

Inside was a sleek new phone—way fancier than anything he'd owned before—and a small note written in Ryusoke's messy handwriting:

"In case you get bored or lonely. Or if someone in the house starts trying to feed you birdseed. I'm talking about Chiyo."

Nori snorted. "Idiot."
