"Really, trust me, I'll take good care of you," I said earnestly.
"But I don't know you yet," Rowan said softly, her voice sweet and gentle.
"Well, now you do. I'm Kevin," I replied.
"But I don't understand you yet," she said softly.
Listening to her sweet voice, my heart was intoxicated.
"You'll get to know me once you become my girlfriend," I said with a smile.
"Give me some time to think about it," Rowan said softly, and when she lowered her head, I saw a glimmer of joy in her eyes.
"Can I walk you home now?" I reached for her backpack.
"No need, I'll walk with Saskia," Rowan said, her soft hand gripping the thin backpack strap tightly.
"Alright, then let's walk together," I said boldly, standing by her side. I smelled Rowan's faint fragrance and felt like I was falling in love again.
Throughout the walk, Rowan didn't speak to me but chatted with Saskia the whole way.
