"Ah!" Suddenly, a sharp scream broke the tranquility and beauty of the moment.
"Little ghost!" I was startled, and quickly ran toward the source of the sound. The voice came from in front of the small building, but I couldn't just appear in front of the door. So, I jumped into the room, sealed the seal, and quickly ran downstairs.
At this moment, the hall was empty, likely because everyone had gone to the place I was heading. Just as I was about to run outside, suddenly that Jebo, like a ghost, blocked my way. "Miss, you cannot go out."
I immediately slammed on the brakes and stood still in front of him, glaring coldly.
"The young master has ordered that you are not to come and go freely." Jebo's lifeless face was always so unreadable, just looking at him was already uncomfortable, let alone the fact that he dared to block my way.
"Get out of the way!"
"Oh, Miss can speak, huh?" he sneered.
"I can do much more than that!" I snorted coldly, undoing the seal. My gaze became as solid as a physical force, piercing into his eyes. I silently whispered, "The weak and trembling soul! Accept your master's command! Go back to your room, sleep until dawn, and forget everything, forget forever!"
After a moment, he stood there in a daze and obediently walked away.
I resealed the initial seal and dashed out the door. From the moment I stepped outside, blood was everywhere, and my heart twisted in pain. I ran for a while, about five hundred meters from the door, where many people were standing. The young master was in the middle, with Old Niu and the others around him. I quickly ran toward them, stopping only when everything became clear.
The little ghost was there, on the verge of death, and standing just two steps away from him was a woman in black, wearing a mask that covered her entire face. However, her fiery red short hair was eye-catching, making me hesitate and take two steps toward her.
But the cold aura emanating from her made me stop in my tracks. Memories from a century ago slowly awakened in the depths of my soul. They clashed against my spirit, whispering, "She... is not human. She is a ghost!"
"Slave girl! Kill him! Kill him!" Someone in the crowd shouted excitedly.
So, she was a slave girl. She couldn't be her, right? Of course, I forgot. She had already turned to dust, vanished, and would never exist again.
"Hmm?" Hearing the shouting in the crowd, the young master glanced up at the person. The person immediately wilted like a drooping flower and lowered their head. "Sorry, young master, I got too excited and forgot that only you can command the slave girl."
"Then I hope you won't forget next time." The young master's icy voice showed no change. He then turned his gaze to the little ghost. "Tell me, who released you?"
"No one released me. I escaped myself," the little ghost said, though he had already seen me from afar. Still, without hesitation, he turned his gaze away from me and glared at the young master.
"Hmph! Even though you are strong, without help, you could never escape the prison. Tell me, my patience is running out," the young master said with an emotionless tone, more like a bloodthirsty demon than a human.
"Pah! It was just a broken earth prison! Want to trap this elder? Dream on!" The little ghost spat and suddenly used all his strength to slam the ground. He slid close to the ground, rushing toward the young master with a blade in hand. However, he forgot about the slave girl, who, just as the blade was about to touch the target, swung her sword. With a clang, the blade was sent flying. Her movements were so fast they were incomprehensible to humans. She turned and kicked the little ghost's already battered body. Unable to evade, he was kicked flying, and the slave girl, holding a long sword, immediately aimed it at the little ghost's chest.
Sometimes, things are so coincidental. The little ghost was sent flying straight toward me. As I watched the sword tip getting closer, I didn't think at all, but instead, I rushed forward like lightning, catching the little ghost and spinning to shield him in my arms.
"Slave girl, stop!" The young master screamed, but it was too late. At the same moment, I felt a sharp pain in my back, a heart-wrenching pain that made me gasp in a sharp breath and groan, "Ugh!"
I could clearly feel the cold foreign object being pulled away from my back in an instant. My body trembled uncontrollably, my legs gave way, and I collapsed into the little ghost's arms. His tearful gaze met mine, full of concern, "Why...?"
"Run!" I whispered, in a voice only he could hear. He shook his head with tears in his eyes. I had no choice but to command him again, "Run! I won't die."
He gave me a helpless look, then lowered me and jumped out of sight. Watching him disappear from view, I slowly collapsed to the side, only to be caught by strong arms.
"Little girl! What's wrong with you?" It was Old Niu, that rough man.
"..." I shook my head, looking at his tense face, forcing a weak smile.
"Why...?" At this moment, the young master's cold face appeared in front of me, but I ignored him and simply closed my eyes.
"Look at me!" he ordered. But I pretended not to hear and kept my eyes shut.
"Why won't you look at me?"
But I had no time to answer. The source of life was draining from my back, my heartbeat quickened, and my mind grew foggy.
"Look at me! Why did you save that vampire? Why did you go to all lengths to save him?" His cold voice trembled with rage, and he violently grabbed my arms, shaking me hard.
"Cough! Cough!" The shaking pain in my back forced me to open my eyes. I glared at him coldly, coughing, but still not speaking.
"Young master! Stop moving her like this. She will die!" Old Niu said, panicked and helpless.
"Young master! She's mute, she won't answer you!" The leader also came forward to advise.
At that moment, the young master seemed to suddenly wake up. He quickly released his grip and turned to the person who had caused the harm. "Slave girl, come here!"
"Yes." She obediently walked over.
"Slap!" As soon as she stood in front of the young master, he slapped her hard, sending her flying.
"Young master..." The man at the table earlier stood up nervously, but the young master only needed a glance to make him retreat, his eyes filled with pity as he looked at the slave girl on the ground.
The slave girl, however, did not react at all. She silently got up from the ground, and at that moment, her mask fell off.
"Fire..." I gasped. Seeing her face, I was startled. I was about to speak, but in my agitation, a hot sensation surged in my chest, and I spat out a mouthful of blood, losing consciousness.

Sometimes, things are just so coincidental. Meeting someone unexpected in the most unexpected places can be a twist of fate, but meeting someone is always better than never meeting them at all. Luvian thought this, and just before losing all consciousness, a faint smile played at the corner of her lips—just for those who hurt her.
