Kidnapping

"Looks like we've arrived."

Unknowingly, Simon had been following Mei Ling for almost an hour.

Finally, they reached a bar where Jero Pan and Mei Ling both stopped.

Jero Pan was then pushed into the bar by his men.

Meanwhile, Mei Ling retrieved two handguns from the storage compartment of her motorcycle.

Seeing this, Casey whistled, "Glock on her hip—now that's my kind of woman."

However, when Simon saw the red five-pointed star on the gun, he immediately knew it wasn't a Glock but a military-issue firearm.

"That's not a Glock; that's a military pistol," Chuck said, a bit dazed. "She's here to assassinate the guy in the wheelchair."

Hearing this, Sarah and Casey looked shocked.

Sarah reminded them, "If that's true, we can't wait for the police. By the time they arrive, either Mei Ling or Jero Pan will be dead."

"But I think Mei Ling's chances of survival are higher. And we need her alive."

Casey then turned to Simon. "Simon, park the car at the intersection ahead."

"What about me?" Chuck asked.

"Stay in the car. Simon, watch him—don't let him do anything stupid," Sarah instructed while checking her handgun.

"Got it."

Simon drove to a nearby intersection and continued monitoring the bar.

Perhaps due to boredom, Chuck started a conversation.

Simon responded absentmindedly while keeping an eye on the situation.

Suddenly, gunfire rang out.

"Simon, did I just hear gunshots?" Chuck asked, trying to confirm.

Simon nodded. "Yeah."

"What do we do?" Chuck asked.

"Nothing. We wait here," Simon said calmly.

It was just a bunch of gangsters—he didn't believe that Mei Ling and the three spies couldn't handle them.

"They'll be fine, right?"

"Of course. They're professionals. Trust them," Simon reassured him.

"Alright…"

A little while later, Chuck noticed Jero Pan appearing outside the bar.

"He looks like he's being chased! We should help him," Chuck said.

Simon glanced at the elderly man in the wheelchair and immediately refused. "That's not our business."

Simon knew full well that Jero Pan wasn't just some random old man—he was a Triad boss.

If anything, Simon hoped more of these kinds of people would die.

"Simon, we can't just stand by and watch." Chuck ignored him and ran toward the old man.

"Chuck! Chuck! You idiot!" Simon cursed and ran after him.

"My car is over there! Help me!" Jero Pan pointed toward a nearby limousine.

Chuck obediently pushed his wheelchair toward the car.

The bodyguards in the limousine, seeing Jero Pan approaching, immediately took over.

Meanwhile, a door was suddenly pushed open, and a man with tape over his mouth and his hands tied with nylon restraints was dragged out by two men in black.

"Why is he tied up?" Chuck asked, confused.

"You idiot! He's been kidnapped!" Simon said as he launched a flying kick, knocking one of the men away.

Seeing Simon suddenly appear, the other two black-clad men instinctively reached for their guns.

Not giving them a chance, Simon leaped into the air, grabbed one by the head, and slammed him into the ground.

Then, rolling behind a trash bin to avoid gunfire, he pulled out his tranquilizer gun.

Using the bin for cover, he fired a shot, hitting the last man in the neck.

The tranquilizer worked instantly—the man collapsed.

"OMG! What the hell just happened?!" Chuck stammered.

Simon emerged from behind the trash bin, holding his tranquilizer gun, and approached Jero Pan. "Can't you see? The Triads kidnapped this guy."

"Who are you?" Jero Pan asked, unfazed despite having a gun pointed at him.

"You don't need to know." Simon fired a tranquilizer dart at Jero Pan's neck.

"Drop the gun!"

Before Jero Pan even passed out, Mei Ling arrived, aiming two pistols at them.

"I mean no harm! You should get out of here—you're already being watched by the CIA," Simon warned her in Mandarin.

Seeing her glance at the kidnapped man beside them, Simon continued, "You're here to rescue him, aren't you? He's safe now. You should leave before the CIA gets here."

"Who are you?" Mei Ling asked in Mandarin.

"You don't need to know. Just know that I'm helping you." Simon warned again.

"I don't believe you! Drop your gun and get in the car!" Mei Ling ordered.

"Why make this so complicated?" Simon sighed and let go of his tranquilizer gun.

As Mei Ling's attention momentarily shifted to the falling gun, Simon moved.

He grabbed her wrists, crossing them over her chest, and pushed her against the limousine.

[Ding!]

"Let go!" Mei Ling yelled.

As she spoke, she attempted to knee Simon in the groin.

But Simon had anticipated this—he countered with his own knee, blocking hers.

"Don't do this. I really am trying to help you," Simon whispered.

However, the anger in Mei Ling's eyes showed she didn't believe him.

"Federal agents! Drop your weapon!"

Sarah and Casey had finally dealt with the gang members and arrived on the scene.

Seeing them, Simon discreetly adjusted one of Mei Ling's guns, pointing it at his own arm.

"Shoot me!" he whispered.

"What?" Mei Ling couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Hurry! No time!"

Without hesitation, Mei Ling pulled the trigger.

A gunshot rang out, and blood sprayed from Simon's arm.

Taking advantage of the moment, he let go of her.

Mei Ling used Simon as cover and escaped.

"You okay?!" Chuck rushed to Simon's side.

Simon shook his head. "Lucky shot—just a flesh wound."

"This is all my fault! If I hadn't run off, this wouldn't have happened." Chuck blamed himself.

Casey, annoyed, scolded him. "Next time we tell you to stay in the car, stay in the damn car! Got it?"

"Alright, someone tell me what the hell just happened," Sarah asked, looking at the kidnapped man, the unconscious gangsters, and the scene of chaos.

"It's simple—this guy was kidnapped by Jero Pan. And I'm guessing Mei Ling came to rescue him."
