Morning Buns

This alone spoke volumes about the empire's generosity toward the One Flower Sect.

As long as the former Sect Leader lived, or if he found another disciple with some cultivation talent and trained them well, that disciple could potentially reach the Condensation Realm quickly.

Yet, the former Sect Leader had only ever accepted him as a disciple.

Bok Taejin couldn't quite figure out why.

He also didn't understand why none of the villagers seemed to question it either.

But now, he was the Sect Leader of the One Flower Sect…

With these thoughts swirling in his mind, Bok Taejin unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

By the time he woke up, it was to the sound of birds chirping outside.

He got out of bed and noticed that Im Beomhyeon's room door was open, but Im Beomhyeon was still snoring away inside.

So, Bok Taejin stepped outside and began practicing the Eight Brocades Qi Gong.

In his past life, he had suffered from an overstuffed stomach for over a year.

After consulting with a traditional doctor, he gradually improved his condition and picked up Tai Chi Qi Gong, Five Animal Play Qi Gong, and Eight Brocades Qi Gong.

Among all of them, he only managed to keep up with the Eight Brocades Qi Gong.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed someone approaching from the village and quickly stopped his practice to wait.

The person came closer, and Bok Taejin recognized Aunt Seo carrying a large basket.

Just as he was about to greet her, Aunt Seo smiled and said, "Taejin, you're up early. I came to bring you two some buns. No need to wait for Beomhyeon to wake up—just eat first."

She spoke while walking, and by the time she finished, she had already reached Bok Taejin.

Lifting the basket's cover slightly, she let him see the golden-brown buns inside.

The village's flour wasn't finely processed and still had some bran mixed in, giving the buns a natural yellowish hue.

He had no idea what filling they had, but the rich aroma of grains reached his nose without restraint.

For a brief moment, Bok Taejin felt that this fragrance was even more pleasant than the fresh greenery he had smelled when he stepped out of the house earlier.

Although he had eaten a lot last night and didn't feel hungry when he woke up, his mouth was now watering, urging him to eat.

He invited Aunt Seo inside.

Not that he needed to, as she was much more familiar with the place than he was.

Once she placed the basket on the table, Bok Taejin eagerly grabbed a steaming bun.

Just as he was about to take a bite, a thought struck him, and he quickly asked, "Aunt Seo, does Brother Im always wake up this late?"

Although he had only moved around the house's vicinity, the location was excellent, allowing him to see some villagers going about their morning activities, though he couldn't make out their faces.
