Tilling and Planting

When it came to tasks requiring strength—like tilling the land—he had done plenty and was well-practiced.

Bok Taejin, on the other hand, had never done anything like this before.

Before long, he was already exhausted, he leaning on his hoe and wiping sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.

Only then did he have the chance to glance around.

To his shock, Im Beomhyeon had already tilled almost half the field, while he had barely managed to turn over a single corner.

Feeling too embarrassed to rest, Bok Taejin quickly resumed his work with renewed effort.

Still, by the end, Im Beomhyeon was the one who had done most of the work.

Watching Bok Taejin panting for breath, Im Beomhyeon let out a few mischievous chuckles before asking, "Do you want to let the soil dry for a few days before planting? I noticed that others raise the seedlings first. Are you planning to do the same?"

Bok Taejin thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I'll just dig small holes, drop in the seeds, cover them up, and water them. These seeds should be different from the ordinary ones."

After all, they came from the Spirit Seed Respiratory.

Even if they were considered ordinary among spirit seeds, they should still be much stronger than the ordinary ones, right?

However, seeing the doubtful expression on Im Beomhyeon's face, Bok Taejin's confidence wavered slightly.

He simply changed his approach and said, "Let's dig two small holes first and plant two seeds as a test. If they grow well, we'll do the same for the rest."

Hearing this, Im Beomhyeon had no objections.

Bok Taejin dug the holes first, and then took out a jade gourd—this item could be stored in the Sect Leader Token, making it very convenient to be carry around.

He poured out two seeds, which gleamed like brown gemstones.

Im Beomhyeon stared at the seed in amazement.

He had never seen such beautiful seeds before!

It wasn't until Bok Taejin covered the seeds with fine soil and stood up a d preparing to fetch water from the well, that Im Beomhyeon snapped out of his daze.

He quickly run toward the well, both to help Bok Taejin with the task—so he wouldn't get too tired—and to mask the embarrassment of having been so mesmerized.

Bok Taejin was only aware of the first reason, not the second, but he readily accepted Im Beomhyeon's help.

With the two small mounds thoroughly watered, Bok Taejin felt much more at ease.

However, just as he relaxed, his stomach let out a loud grumble of protest.

Using his relatively clean forearm, he rubbed his stomach and looked at Im Beomhyeon expectantly, waiting for his older brother figure to lead him to food.

To his surprise, Im Beomhyeon also looked dumbfounded.

Slapping his thigh, he groaned in frustration, "Ah! How did I forget about lunch today?"

Thankfully, he usually woke up late, and the villagers would bring breakfast to his house for him to eat when he got up.
