Pather: Pray to who? The unfavoured are abandoned by god's, your prayers will reach no one.
Zephyrix: huff I think we are far enough. Let's catch a break. *Stops and takes shelter under a bundle of trees*
???: Did you really have to just run? Those supplies could come in handy.
Pather: Why would we worry about supplies when we got you Marcus. You can literally find info on anything.
Marcus: you have gotten lazy just say it. Also don't go chewing more than you can have, we don't want the other story to slow down.
Zephyrix: who are you talking to? I don't hear anything. *Sits down*
Pather: My friend decided to join in, he is type of guy who will even get you the gods's personal info as long as you give entertainment.
Zephyrix: Gods? You mean the literally Gods?
Marcus: pretty much. My archives are bigger than their brains.
Pather: Good way to say you are good at surfing through internet.
Marcus: Forget about that, where are we going to?(1)
Pather: (1)is what he says. Also to readers this (1) is basically referring to dialogue.
Zephyrix: We can't leave the area, the farther we go the more monsters we face. With my unfavoured status we are just sitting ducks.
Pather: want some help kiddo? I will need my payment in good plot.
Marcus: Here you go again haggling for plot.
Zephyrix: I got no choice,*stands up and stretchs* let's make things exciting.
Pather: If we want to change somethings, there is something in a ravine some distance away that maybe your only rope.
Zephyrix: then what are we waiting for? Which direction?
Pather: South East, about 2 hrs of walking or 30 mins of running.
Zephyrix sprints, having trained his physical body from that 'day'. Years of training helped him slowly but surely. In the way, he meet a few fiery salamanders, a few bloodbats, and even a giant ironfur bear destroying a sulphuric beehive.
From dodging to sprinting, crawling to climbing trees, under mine and marcus's gaze he slowly made his way towards the ravine.
Zephyrix: You told me the direction but how do I get down there.*gazes down at ravine floor 10s of meters away.*
Marcus: leap of faith.
Pather: do the mlg, there is water down there.
Zephyrix: You expect me to jump like that Steve guy you told me about?*sarcastically remarks* I am not some monster like him who can lift meter wide blocks of gold in my pockets.
Marcus: were you talking about that cave over there?
Pather: pretty much. Why don't you take a look?
Marcus: You think that's funny? We know only the writers can go anywhere they want.
Zephyrix: stop your mumbling and help me.
Pather: why should we? How about you find someway yourself?
Zephyrix: Hey wait!
Both I and Marcus begins to sit back as we watched the brat try everything. We saw him try using rocks to measure water depth, slip down a tree trying to get some wines, bundle then up before trying to make a rope.
Marcus: the brat is smart for his age, pretty sure other shounen mcs will just do the leap of faith hoping the water was deep.
Pather: and then get their heads smacked against a turtle and get their IQ lowered and some brain damage.
Marcus:the rope's not gonna hold it. Let's give him some help to avoid getting our boy some brain damage, we can't have him reach the same level of IQ as Luffy.
Pather: Boy that rope is not gonna hold, try two of them.
Zephyrix: Still care eh? *Smirks* Guess you still care about me.
Pather: i regret everything.
Marcus: Hahaha.
It took zephyrix another hour to make it down the ravine. Just as he was about to reach the floor.
Pather: Watch out.
Zephyrix quickly lets go of the rope and rolls as he falls to the floor. A big claw pops out of the walls and shreds the rope where zephyrix was.
Marcus: Lemme check mumbling Got it, a gem claw mole, medium speed, low defence and high offensive power. It's head is it's weakness, one punch to it and it will faint.(2)
Pather: (2). You heard him, show us some action.
The mole lunges out of its ambush, it was barely 2 feet tall but it's claws were half its height. Zephyrix jumps back as the mole falls down, it spins and slashes only for it to get hit with a rock to the face.
Filled with fury the mole lunges again while giving a high pitched shrill. Zephyrix sidesteps and the mole falls into a tiny pond, after a little struggle using it's paws like padels, it quickly resurfaces but as it pops it's head out it is meet by a big rock to head.
Zephyrix: That was stressful *collapses on the floor* all that climbing just to fight a damn mole.
Pather: that is not just some damn mole, look at its claws.
Zephyrix's view shifts to the mile's claws, vibrant and half transparent like a gem or crystal.
Marcus: those things might be quite durable even in some other worlds, good enough for some crafting or makeshift weapon.
Pather: basically those things are super durable and even better than some weapons, just sharpen them and we got a decent weapon.
At the mention of a weapon, zephyrix didn't mess around, he kills the mole with a few more hits to head and uses it own claws to rip them out. He then polished them with eachother and now he got some sharp curved spikes.
Zephyrix: Where do we go now? I doubt you bought me here just for these.
Pather: see towards your left.
Towards the left is a giant crack in the wall with some plants growing beside it, the crack reveals a cramped path of sorts.
Pather: that's your way in.
Soon zephyrix reaches the end of the small tunnel and finds himself close to something that looks like a giant hall with a bunch of scriptures.
Marcus: Scriptures or rather knowledge. It says "the path to ascension lies in faith, the path to corruption lies in subordination and the path of transcendence lies in belief." And next are some things like how to train in mythical arts.
Pather: so basically technique books and training methods alongside with some riddles like the whuxia?
Marcus: I don't think we can call those riddles but you could say that.
Zephyrix: Can you ignore those things and focus on that floating orb? *Points towards the center of the chamber* That thing must be main item.
Pather: Got any idea Marcus?
Marcus: Lemme check, no, not that, not this either... Ah got it, trials. Apparently this forms when either agents or higher beings die, you can choose a difficulty and you get something based on what you choose. The rewards can vary from a stick to even a blessing.
Pather: is what he says. Wanna give it a try or will you rather stay normal unfavoured?
Zephyrix: is that even a question?
