Awakening of Power

Samuel ran as fast as he could, his feet hitting the ground. His chest was tight, and his breath came out shap. His heart pounded, and the fear from what he had just done pushed him to run faster. He didn't know what to feel, but his body moved on its own.

The cave was behind him now. The bodies of Tobias, Ethan, and Reid laying still. They had been noble sons. They were supposed to be stronger than him. But now Their blood had soaked into the ground, and Samuel had killed them. He didn't know what had happened. It had all happened so quickly. His mind was still racing, trying to process the overwhelming feelings of fear and confusion.

But there was another feeling, too. A strange sense of power.

Samuel felt something inside him stir. It was a feeling he hadn't experienced before. He had always been weak, always the target of bullying. He had never fought back. He had never had the strength. But now… now, he could feel it. The power from the elements inside the bodies of the boys had entered him.

As Samuel ran, his thoughts began to mix with the thrill of his actions. He started to laugh. Quiet at first, then louder. His legs didn't slow down. He laughed and ran, enjoying the feeling of running away, of leaving everything behind. His past, his pain, the years of being bullied. He didn't have to feel that anymore. In that moment, the fear wasn't as important as the new sense of freedom.

It didn't make sense. He should have been terrified. But all he could feel was the rush. He laughed harder as he ran, a twisted sense of enjoyment creeping up on him. It was the first time he felt in control. It was the first time he felt… powerful.

By the time he reached his home, the sun was setting. The sky was painted in orange and purple, but Samuel didn't notice any of it. He hurried into the house, his thoughts still scattered. His father was out, as usual. He was left alone in the large, empty house.

Samuel didn't care. He went straight to his room. The door clicked shut behind him, and he locked it. He felt safe in here. It was just him. He stripped off his clothes, heading straight for the shower. The hot water hit his skin.

After the shower, Samuel dried himself off and sat on his bed. He needed to think. There was a lot happening, and he didn't understand it all. His mind raced, but he didn't know where to start.

The system had appeared in his vision when he had killed Tobias, Ethan, and Reid. It had told him to use fire magic, and when he had, it felt natural. Then he had used fire to kill them, and something inside him shifted. He had absorbed their power, but he didn't know how. The system didn't explain it in detail.

He called out the system using his thoughts,

He activated it now. The small, glowing screen appeared in front of him, and the interface was simple. The words "Soul System Activated" flashed on the screen, followed by a list of abilities. Samuel stared at the list.

Fire Magic – Level 1

Water Magic – Level 1

Wind Magic – Level 1

He read through each of the abilities. The explanation was clear. Fire magic was the easiest for him to use, as it was the magic of the bully he had killed first. But the water and wind magic were new. He didn't know how to control them yet. He couldn't figure out why he had absorbed these abilities, but the system said they were now his.

The system gave a short explanation of how to use the magic. It was simple. He just needed to focus on the element and then channel it. He could use it like he had used fire, but now, he could try using water and wind.

Samuel wasn't sure he believed it. How could he suddenly have these powers? How had he learned to control them so easily? The system wasn't clear, but it didn't matter.

There was only one way to understand it. He had to try.

Samuel stood up and opened his window. The night air was cool, He didn't care about the world around him. He only cared about the powers inside him, the new feeling that had taken over. It was like his body had unlocked something that had been hidden. It was the first time he felt in control.

He grabbed his cloak from the back of his chair and tied it around his neck. It was time to go outside.

Samuel snuck out of his room, making sure not to make any noise. The house was still quiet. He crept down the stairs and out the front door, taking care to lock it behind him.

The forest was nearby. It was quiet, Samuel stepped carefully, his feet crunching on the leaves below him. He didn't pay attention to any of that. He only focused on what he needed to do.

He found an open place and stopped. It was empty. Just him and the night. He stood still for a moment, breathing in the cool air.

Samuel focused his thoughts. The first thing he needed to try was water magic. He closed his eyes and imagined the water. He thought about how it moved, how it flowed.

Nothing happened. He opened his eyes. He frowned. He wasn't sure what he was doing wrong.

He tried again. This time, he focused harder. He could feel the water magic deep inside him, almost like it was calling to him. Slowly, his hand lifted in the air. A thin stream of water formed, just barely at first. It was small, but it was enough.

Samuel smiled. It worked. He had done it.

He took a deep breath and focused again. He lifted his other hand, and this time, the water grew. It swirled around his arm. The stream of water moved faster, gaining strength. It didn't feel like he was controlling it—it felt like the water was moving with him.

He dropped his hands and let the water fall to the ground. The magic stopped. He was breathing heavily now, but the thrill inside him was undeniable. He had done it. He had used water magic.

Next, he focused on wind magic.

He stood still and concentrated. He didn't know exactly how it worked, but he felt the wind inside him. It was like he could sense the air moving, like he could feel its flow. Slowly, he raised his hand. At first, nothing happened. But then, a gust of wind blew past him, strong enough to push his cloak back.

It wasn't much, but it was a start. Samuel laughed. It was the first time he felt so alive, so in control.

The wind picked up, swirling around him. He let it. It was like he was becoming one with the elements. The magic didn't feel strange anymore. It felt natural.

Samuel stopped. He didn't want to overdo it. He had to understand this power before he did something he couldn't control.

He stood still in the place for a long time, feeling the power inside him. The magic was strong, but he didn't know how far he could take it. He wasn't ready for that yet.

Eventually, the night grew colder. Samuel turned and started walking back home. His steps were slow, The system had said he could use the elements, but he still didn't understand why he had them. What did this mean for him? What did it mean for the future?

Samuel didn't have answers. But one thing was certain: He wasn't weak anymore. The world was changing, and so was he.

When he returned home, he went straight to his room and shut the door. He locked it again. He didn't want anyone to find out what had happened. Not yet. Not until he understood it all.

But deep down, he knew one thing. This was just the beginning.
