Ignis Territory – Mansion of Crimson – Lucas's Chamber
The night was silent.
Inside his chamber, Lucas lay motionless, hands resting on his chest, eyes shut tightly. Not from exhaustion. Not from pain.
But from restraint.
The air around him was unnaturally warm, the faint embers of his awakening still flickering in the corners of the room. The bed beneath him had already shown signs of burning despite the reinforced material.
But he didn't move.
He didn't dare.
Because the moment he opened his eyes—things would burn.
And after nearly incinerating half the training ground and its people, Lucas figured it was best to not accidentally turn his room into a funeral pyre.
Not that his body agreed. His muscles ached, his bones felt heavier than ever, and his mana veins pulsed with an unfamiliar power. Every inch of him felt different.
Lucas exhaled, his lips curling into a small, tired smirk. "So this is what it feels like to be the protagonist, huh?"
Lucas grinned.
His parents had been frantic after the event. His mother had nearly tackled him in worry, checking every inch of his body, her eyes red from unshed tears. His father… Noah Ignis, the man known as the Infernal Duke, had looked shaken for the first time in years.
Lucas could still hear his father's words before leaving his room:
"Your eyes, Lucas… they're not normal. Not even for us."
"Keep them closed. Until we understand them."
Yeah. That was reassuring.
Lucas exhaled, shutting out the memory.
It was then—
Ding!
The familiar chime echoed through his mind, smooth and emotionless.
[Welcome, Host.]
Lucas's fingers twitched.
'Ah. Finally. Where the hell have you been?'
[You have unread notifications.]
[Do you wish to read them?]
[(Y/N)]
Lucas scoffed. 'Obviously. Hit me with it.'
And then—
The flood came.

Lucas blinked—or at least tried to—his heart skipping a beat.
'Excuse me, what the fuck?'

He didn't hesitate.
'Statuts'
Ding!

'Pantheon of fire ? Seem like I can unlocked different type of fire later on.' thought Lucas
Incredible.
Lucas now looked at his mana core level.
In this world, mana users advance through realms. From beginning to the legendary Saint realm.
A Beginner is where the awakening of the mana core happens and gaining affinity awareness. The Mana control is rudimentary, and it cannot be manifested externally.
At the Intermediate realm is where the Mana can be projected outside the body.
From Master realm to Saint Realm. He didn't find any information yet from the library.
'Never find. I will found out when the time comes.'
But there is something he doesn't quite understand.
'… Soul Power?'
[Ding! Explanation of Soul Power:]
{Soul Power is an advanced energy source derived from the very essence of one's being. Unlike mana, which fuels spells and abilities, Soul Power represents the strength of existence itself. Developing it enhances mental fortitude, willpower, and unlocks hidden potentials beyond mere elemental affinities. The Stronger soul power, the greater the ability to impose one's will on reality itself.}
{It is one of the necessary conditions to reach the Saint Realm.}
Lucas whistled lowly.
He had unknowingly already cleared a condition to step into legend.
"Damn, I really lucked out, huh?"
But… now about these eyes…
[Eyes of the Primordial of Fire]
Burning Gaze → Everything your eyes set on can be burned.
Everything.
Living beings. Objects. Concepts.
Even if, at the moment he doesn't quite reach that level of burning concepts. But he is sure he eventually will.
Even now, with his eyes closed, he could sense the world differently. It was like a second vision, one made not of light, but of fire.
Everything had a burning point. Every object, every soul—he could feel the moment they would turn to ash.
Lucas swallowed.
[Ding! Due to the uncontrollable nature of your eyes because of your low mastery, a special item has been granted.]
A black flame flickered into existence in his hands.
[ Ding! Blindfold of Fire (Grade: Primordial):
A mystical blindfold crafted by the will of flame itself. It suppresses the destructive power of the Eyes of the Primordial of Fire, allowing Lucas to function normally while still granting vision. However…Bear in mind that true fire can never be truly restrained.]
Lucas held the blindfold between his fingers.
This blindfold is like a flickering black flame. So dark it looked like it can shallow the world itself.
He exhaled deeply, lifting it toward his face.
And the moment he wrapped it around his eyes—
The world changed.
For the first time since his awakening…
Lucas felt normal.
He tilted his head back, exhaling slowly.
He opened his eyes behind the blindfold.
Then, a smirk tugged at his lips.
"Not bad."
