Chapter 29 : A Saint

Chapter 29

Lucas is no longer the same.

Physically. Mentally. Emotionally.

He has grown—more mature, more capable, more attuned to this world.

Looking at him now, you would think he was at least seventeen.

Standing at six feet tall, his ashen hair has grown long, reaching his shoulders, though he keeps it tied in a loose ponytail. His silver-gray ashen eyes remain as mesmerizing as ever, but the change in them is undeniable. The white flame spiral in his right pupil has become more pronounced, its eerie glow capable of unsettling even lower-ranking beings with just a glance.

His left eye, marked by the jagged half-moon, has grown more obscene. A red glow—like blood—seeps into its edges, slowly consuming the original color.

Lucas's Death Affinity is evolving, reaching a state beyond the primordial. When that threshold is crossed… even I, the author, have no idea what will happen.

His skin remains ethereal and pale, seemingly fragile, yet the strength behind it is terrifying.

He has a lean physique, the embodiment of the creed "Lean is Law."

His muscles are compact, sculpted like a masterpiece carved inch by inch by a god's hand.

Lucas is a lady-killer.

A dangerously handsome young man.

And he knows it.

And sometimes, this motherfucker uses his appearance to get what he wants.

For example a Saint as his contracted beast?

Absurd, right?

But that's not even a problem anymore.

Because Lucas himself… is now a Saint.

A Saint in two domains.

Fire and Death.

William stared at his disciple in disbelief.

"I never thought I'd see a ten-year-old Saint… let alone one with mastery over two domains."

A slow, wicked grin spread across his face.

"And that ten-year-old happens to be my disciple. Me. William Pendragon. The master of this absolute fucking abomination! HAHAHAHA!"

William tilted his head back, laughing madly at the sky.

Lucas sighed helplessly. It wasn't the first time his master had acted like this.

"I don't know how I should feel when you call me an abomination, Master."

William waved a hand dismissively.

"That's a compliment, you abomination. Don't sweat the details."

The others simply shook their heads at his antics. William never changed. The only time he was truly serious was when someone dared to trash-talk his questionable novel collection.

Lilie, in her fox form, glanced at Lucas.

"Are you sure you want to go now? You could wait for them to weaken each other before stepping in to reap the rewards."

Lucas immediately shook his head.

"No, that won't do. I have to crush them myself."

"You won't even need to fight," he added with a smile while looking at Lilie.

"I'll handle everything. Just watch from behind—it won't take long."

Lilie turned her face away, suppressing a groan.

'Being this handsome should be illegal. And now he's using it to get his way.'

She glanced at Thania, who was staring at Lucas with a foolish smile. Lilie sighed inwardly.

'This girl is a lost cause.'

But then,

Thania spoke up.

"I won't interfere, but I want to be by your side, not behind you."

"Me too."

"Yes, disciple, us too. How could we let you go alone?"

Lucas smiled calmly.

"Then you can stand by my side."

"But first, let me meditate for a bit before we set off."

With that, he sat cross-legged and whispered:

Stage 5: Sovereign's Last Lament

• Time slows for Lucas but speeds up for the enemy—his movements become instantaneous.

• One cut equals a thousand, as space itself cannot contain his speed.

• Final Slash: "Eternal Requiem"—a strike so fast that it occurs before the enemy realizes they've been hit, deleting them from history.

<< Saint Domains >>

1. Domain of Fire – "The Infernal Throne"

• A world of endless flames, where fire does not just burn but consumes the very essence of existence.

• The fire here is not mere heat but pure destruction, reducing everything to nothingness and ashes that obey only your will.

• Gravity bends in this domain, dragging enemies toward the heart of the fire, where they are erased from reality.

• All flames bow to the Sovereign, turning hostile fire into his own weapon.

• Time warps—flames can burn before they are ignited, allowing you to incinerate enemies retroactively.

2. Domain of Death – "The Hollow Requiem"

• A realm where death is absolute, and no soul can escape its grasp.

• In this domain, wounds do not heal, time does not flow, and existence slowly crumbles.

• The air itself whispers—the voices of the dead, mourning, condemning, and dragging enemies into an endless abyss.

• Reality decays, causing armor, weapons, and bodies to rot into dust within seconds.

• The Threads of Death are visible to you at all times, and you can cut them with a mere thought, determining who lives or dies.

Lucas examined his status with quiet pride.

He was now a Saint.

His skills are incredible. Overpowered even.

And he had know a set of sword techniques that he has painstakingly developed by using numerous soul of swordsmen to inherit their techniques and rechange them to suit him.

So many skills, I won't even know how to use them correctly.

Sigh…being too overpowered is not all rainbows and sunshine.

Anyway.

Even if Saints weren't the absolute limit of this world.

But for today, it was enough.

He exhaled slowly, calming himself.

His Soul Construct technique… he'd never had a chance to use it.

Maybe today, he would.

He thought of the Astral Realm.

Of his mother.

Of his father.

Soon… but first, this mission.

He opened his quest panel.

[Ding! You have received a Quest]

Lucas rose to his feet, his expression calm yet unwavering.

"Let's finish this quickly, shall we?"

Meanwhile…

As Lucas prepared for battle, another war had already begun.

The Devouring Saint.

The King of Beasts.

The Madman.

Elias Vuldar had attacked the Sylvaris Empire.

And with his arrival…

The empire's end had begun.
