Moren's eyes snapped open, and she shot up in her bed to look in the direction of the voice. "Who's there?" She demanded a moment before the entire room lit up with a bright, unnatural blue light coming from the previously extinguished candles. Luna flew in through an open window and hovered in the air with an angry hoot.
'Protect!' Luna said through their link, glaring at the intruder with her wings spread to attack if needed.
The woman giggled. "At ease, Luna." The woman smiled at the feathery protector. "I will not harm you or your Mistress."
It took Moren a few moments for her eyes to adjust to the sudden illumination before she spotted a woman standing with effortless grace. Her long, flowing emerald dress, adorned with delicate floral accents and shimmering with subtle golden flecks, clung to her form like a second skin. A daring slit up to her thigh revealed a toned leg decorated with intricate vine and leaf tattoos that wound their way up from her ankle, disappearing beneath the fabric. Her face was an exquisite blend of ethereal beauty and regal presence, with high cheekbones, full lips, and striking eyes framed by thick lashes. Long, pointed ears—pierced with delicate golden jewelry—marked her Elven-like heritage.
Her vibrant auburn hair cascaded in loose waves down her back, crowned with a wreath of wildflowers and small antler-like adornments entwined with ivy. A small squirrel perched on her shoulder, nestled comfortably against her, as if she were a part of the forest itself. She twirled a gnarled wooden staff adorned with budding flowers and creeping vines, exuding an aura of untamed nature and quiet power. The air around her smelled of blooming meadows and fresh earth, as if she had stepped straight from the heart of an ancient woodland. The woman's body was the definition of voluptuous with curves that many women would kill for a body like hers.
"You're a Fey." Moren breathed. Her eyes drifted to the door. Moren was afraid someone could walk in with the sudden appearance of unnatural light coming from under her door or windows this late at night. She had so many questions that she wanted to ask and didn't want to be interrupted. Moren watched Luna land beside her on the bed, still glaring at the intruder, feathers ruffled.
'Powerful.' Luna commented as she kept an eye on the Fey woman.
"Relax, dear; I have sealed the room in a type of barrier with my magic so we won't be interrupted by your lovely maid or your disgusting parents." The woman mused with a hypnotic and beautiful laugh as she flashed Moren a dazzling smile. "I am indeed, my Little Ember, I am a Fey." The woman purred and waved her hand to change the blue light for a more natural color closer to the sun. "I've been hearing your pleas for years now, and I must say that you are a very fascinating human." The Fey started hovering off the dresser and folded her arms over her stomach. "My name is Ceyanne Sunspring, and I have come to answer your numerous prayers for assistance." The light danced off her flawless silver skin with an unnatural shine like polished metal.
Moren just stared at the Fey in stunned silence as the woman hovering in the air in front of her was a legendary creature that rarely left the feywild. The Fey are some of the most powerful beings that can bend reality on a whim and like to curse people for angering them or out of boredom. Time generally doesn't move in the Feywild, and some of them have lived for centuries. "Answer my prayers?" She repeated while slowly getting out of her bed and pinched her arm hard enough to make sure this wasn't a lucid dream. "That was you in my dream last night." Moren made the connection with the woman using the nickname Little Ember.
"Correct again, child. I love talking to smart mortals. It makes things so much easier in the long run." Ceyanne confirmed by floating over to Moren to tap her on the nose with a playful smile. "You are special among your race. I find most people are too stupid to figure out who I am before they anger me, and I curse them with something fun. Well, fun for me anyway." She slowly circled Moren with an appreciative gaze.
"You're also beautiful, intelligent, and willing to defy your society for a life of freedom and find true love. The more I watched you plan your escape from here, the more you intrigued me, Moren." Cayenne clicked her tongue and gave Moren a sultry pout, making her luscious ruby-colored lips more prominent. "Shame you're not a few decades older. You are drop-dead gorgeous, and I am positive that we could have had a lot of fun together, but alas, I have a very peculiar preference for my lovers." She bemoaned with a long, dramatic sigh before landing on the ground and walking over to the mirror to study her appearance. "Hmm, it seems I wasn't as out of practice with my mortal form as I thought." Cayenne ran her hands over her curves and added a few inches to her height to be able to look Moren in the eyes directly instead of looking up at her. "Now, I have come here to make you a deal that will help you achieve your dreams."
Moren felt her face grow hot from Cayenne's prominent flirtatious words and watched the Fey admiring her body in front of the mirror. "W-What kind of deal?" She stuttered out as her eyes were drawn to the Fey's woman assets. Moren shook his head to focus on this offer and try to get her hormones under control before she did something stupid to offend the powerful woman. "And what is the catch? No one offers something without wanting something in return." Moren had read enough books about Fey that their deals were both beneficial and dangerous. There were rumors about adventures that traveled into the Feywild that never returned or came back changed in various ways. Some good, some bad.
Cayenne's musical laugh returned as she laughed deeply and almost doubled over. She flew across the room to stand nose to nose with Moren and her violet eyes that seemed to sparkle with excitement. "Oh, I like you even more now, sweetie." She purred and flashed a hungry smile. "Since you are such a smart girl, here is what I have to offer." Cayenne caressed Moren's face in a loving gesture for a moment and took a step back. "I am not just any old Fey, my dear; I am an Archfey." She cackled when she heard Moren gasp at her in complete shock. "I see you know what I am. That will make this a bit easier. I have lived for over six centuries, and for the first time in ages, I've finally found someone who catches my interest. Now, I want to become your Patron. Please consider me your favorite Aunt who wants to spoil you rotten with gifts. I will grant you a taste of my power, boost your budding magical ability with my own, and teach you real magic."
Cayenne waved her hand, and the room was filled with rose petals, and with a snap of her fingers, the petals burst into flames before vanishing. "All that I ask in return is that I go to Whitestone in three years and look into an important a few important matters for me." She paused for a moment, tapping her chin before continuing. "I may ask you a few favors as time goes by, but until then, travel as much as you want, fight monsters for fun or for profit, become a Hero if that is what you want, learn ancient secrets, find a lover or two. Whatever makes you happy." Cayenne reach up to scratched her familiar under the chin.
Moren was doing her best not to fall to her knees in shock after realizing she was standing in front of an ancient god-like being offering her a chance to learn real magic from a being that flooded her room with arcane power by just standing there. "What is the matter in Whitestone you want me to look into when I get there?" She asked cautiously. A part of her wanted to accept the deal on the spot, but she wanted to know more before making a deal with the stunning Archfey.
"I would have been very disappointed if you had accepted my deal immediately, Moren." Cayenne cooed as she tapped her lip with a finger and gave Moren an approving look. "I'm doing an old friend of mine an important favor to clear an ancient debt of mine they have been holding on to for ages." She said cryptically and waved her hand in a bored gesture. "When you arrive at Whitestone, I shall appear before you, just like I did this very night, and tell you what I need you to do to take care of it."
Cayenne hovered in the air and rested her hand on her hips. "I will sweeten the deal by instructing you every night over the next few weeks about how to use your new pact magic before you escape from your family." The Archfey said, spitting out the word family like it was made of poison before giving Moren another beautiful grin. "Now, do you accept me as your Patron, Moren?" Cayenne's magenta eyes started glowing even brighter than before as the Archfey studied Moren very closely.
Moren bit her bottom lip as she thought it over Cayenne's offer. She planned on going to Whitestone at some point in her journey anyway to see the birthplace of the Arcane Engines and other technological advances that had come from there, so it wasn't like it was an unreasonable demand that Cayenne was asking of her. Moren's curiosity was running while about what could be going on in Whitestone that would get an Archfey to do a favor for someone that powerful, but there was nothing she could do about that now. Moren could feel the power radiating off the woman, and this deal would benefit her in many ways.
Access to real magic beyond what little she learned from her so-called coward of a teacher. Moren would have to be an idiot to turn down the opportunity to learn from a powerful and ancient being. This deal could make her strong enough to embark on the adventure of her dreams without a way for her family to stop her and, if she was lucky, live to a ripe old age with someone who loved her. Moren decided to take Tiana's advice.
"Yes," Moren replied while digging deep and getting the courage to stand tall and look Cayenne in her eyes with all the courage and confidence she could muster. "I will accept you as my Patron, My Lady." Moren gave Cayenne a respectful bow. "How do I formalize the deal?"
Cayenne's eyes began to glow like the stars in the night sky, grinning like the cat that caught the canary. "Wonderful!" She beamed, stepped forward, and cupped Moren's face with her soft hands. "Like this, Little Ember." She mewled and pressed a bold kiss on Moren's lips.
"Hmm." Moren gasped in surprise when the Archfey kissed her. A warm sensation flooded her chest as magic rushed through her entire body, making Moren feel like she was dropped in a swirling pool of warm water. Moren's emerald eyes started to glow brightly, and her mind grew hazy momentarily. Her body continued to thrum from the sudden surge of power. The moment the kiss ended, Moren fell to her knees and gasped for air. Her body shook, and it adjusted to the sudden influx of magic courses through her body. "Gods." Moren panted from the jolts of power that made her muscles twitch and looked up at the glowing Archfey. "T-That was incredible."
"Thank you. I do enjoy leaving mortals breathless and weak in the knees." Cayenne mused as she licked her lips and shuddered. "It's been a while since I've kissed a mortal, and you were delicious, my dear Ember." She let out a deep sigh.
Ceyanne took a step back as her squirrel companion scurried over her shoulders. "Now, I shall retreat for the night to let my sweet Little Ember get some rest. I will return tomorrow night to begin your lessons on proper magic." Cayenne gave Moren a playful wink and placed a glowing hand on Moren's left shoulder.
"W-Why do you keep calling my Little Ember?" Moren asked while catching his breath, her body still pulsing with power. She watched the Archfey walk over to pet Luna's feathers gently.
'Friend.' Luna said while leaning into the woman's hand.
Cayenne giggled. "Because I can see the embers of your greatness deep inside you that are waiting for the right breeze to turn them into an inferno that will light up the night sky." She explained. "Get some sleep, dear. You're going to need it." Cayenne snapped her fingers and vanished into a puff of smoke a moment before the light in the room went out, leaving the entire room in darkness.
Moren slowly got to her feet and took shaky steps towards the bed before collapsing on top of the sheets as her body started to feel heavy. Her limbs felt like they were made of lead, exhaustion wrapping around her like an iron shroud. Moren tried to stay awake, but the moment her eyes closed, she was out like a light and entered the realm of dreams.
'Sleep.' Luna said, fluttering to rest on the bedpost , her tawny feathers ruffling slightly as she settled in. 'Protected. The night watches over you, and so do I.' The owl's golden eyes gleamed in the dim light, scanning the room with quiet vigilance. She let out a soft, rhythmic hoot, a lullaby of the wild, ancient and soothing, meant to guard against the shadows that lurked beyond the veil of slumber.
Luna wings stretched once before tucking in tightly, a silent guardian in the hush of the night.
"Moren, Moren! You need to wake up. You overslept." Mika said, shaking her sleeping charge roughly who was laying face down on the bed. She hurried over, opened the window to let the light in the room, and gasped. "Moren!"
"W-What?" Moren asked groggily and let out a groan as her body felt stiff. "Man, I had a weird dream last night." She pushed herself up and slowly slid off the bed, stretching to loosen her stiff muscles. "How late am I?" Moren asked while letting her joints pop and crack from the stretches. After several long moments of silence, she stopped stretching to look and saw that Mika was standing stiff as a board, her jaw agape. "What?" she asked, tilting her head slightly with confusion.
Mika snapped out of her stupor, grabbed Moren's wrist to drag her to the large mirror, and pointed. "This!" She exclaimed before turning to face her charge. "When did this happen?"
Moren's breath hitched as she caught sight of her reflection, understanding at last what had made Mika gasp in shock. The woman staring back at her was still herself—yet subtly, unmistakably changed.
Her once-dark hair now shimmered with an unnatural gloss, the strands catching the light in a way that made them look almost enchanted. Her emerald eyes glowed faintly, the depth of their color enhanced by the striking contrast of her longer, darker eyelashes. She reached up, running her fingers over her face, tracing the soft curves of her now more defined features. Her lips, a deep and vibrant red, looked as though they had been painted with the finest lipstick—yet no matter how many times she pressed her thumb against them, the color remained untouched, unyielding.
Then she noticed her ears. They were slightly longer than before, the tips tapering to a subtle but undeniable point. Not enough to mark her as an Elf, yet distinct from any Half-Elf she had ever encountered. They placed her in an in-between state—no longer quite human, yet not fully anything else. A transformation had taken place, one that set her apart in a way she could not yet comprehend.
The last change Moren noticed was the elegant tattoo on her left arm. She pulled off her nightgown to get a better look. The green vine started on the palm of her left hand and wrapped up her arm, around both sides of her left shoulder, and a few vines went up the left side of her neck and stopped at her ear. The design was beautiful and intricate, with the leaves and vines intertwining. Moren recognized the design as the one on Cayenne's leg. A violet feminine handprint rested atop her shoulder with the vines interwoven between the fingers. "It was real."
"What was real? Mika asked, moving to look at all the changes to her daughter. "Moren, what is going on?" She asked in a concerned voice. "Did your parents do this to you after I left?" Mika started biting her lip, fearing that she had let Moren down, and allowed her parents to change her with some illegal or unethical magic to make their deal with the Marquis more enticing.
Moren shook her head. "I met an Archfey last night, Mom." She answered with awe in her voice. "She made me an offer, and I accepted it." Moren chuckled as she realized that she would now have the power to make her dream a reality. "This is incredible!" Moren watched Luna fly around the room excitedly.
"You did what?" Mika hissed and looked around before running to the bedroom door to lock it. "Moren Fae Ravenheart, you are smart enough to know better about making any deal with an Archfey." She scolded Moren in a motherly tone, let out an exasperated sigh, and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Tell me everything quickly. We don't have much time until the Lord and Lady notice your absence." Mika was already devising a plan to hide these changes from her Lord and Lady, and those options were few and unlikely to work.
Moren quickly told Mika about her unexpected guest that appeared after she left last night and the discussion with her Patron Cayenne that ended with Moren accepting the Archfey's deal. "Now, how do we hide this from my parents?" She asked, hoping Mika wouldn't notice her blushing at how she had sealed the deal. Moren knew that when she stepped into the dining room with them, they would freak out in disgust at her new appearance or glee to make her more valuable during their contract negotiations with the Marquis.
Mika was about to grab some makeup to try and hide the more apparent changes. She prayed that her parents wouldn't notice, with all their disgusting scheming, when a soft thump caught her attention. She looked towards the noise to see a ring made of a multicolor crystal sitting atop an envelope with the words Moren, Read Me! written on it. "What in the blazes?" She asked aloud, picked up both items and handed them to Moren. "I've never seen this ring before." Mika walked over and handed both items to her daughter.
Moren rolled the ring between her thumb and forefinger, letting the light shine through the translucent ring. "I've never seen this ring before either, Mika." She mumbled before opening the envelope and pulled out a letter.
Little Ember,
I hope you like your new body. Well, it's not really new, but I polished up a stunning diamond! I left you another gift: this ring will hide your new features as long as you wear it. Be careful, though. Anyone with magical sight will be able to see your new appearance.
See you tonight!
Your Favorite Aunt.
"Wow," Moren said, handing the letter to Mika and slipping the ring on her right thumb. She shivered for a moment as a slight chill ran up her spine before looking in the mirror to see her old appearance in the reflection. "This is incredible. I look completely normal. "She touched her face and turned her head from side to side. "That takes care of one problem."
Mika hummed and gave her daughter a stern look. "I will be with you when your Patron returns tonight." She said, adding an angry emphasis on Patron. "I want to make sure you are safe. I may not be a warrior or a wizard, but I will protect my family."
Moren was deeply touched and pulled Mika into a tight embrace. "Thanks, Mom," She said happily, patting the woman on the back. "Now, we need to hurry. I am sure that they are anxious to chat about my pending nuptials," Moren said sarcastically.
"Indeed, young lady." Mika agreed, clearing her throat and resuming her proper professional posture. "We need to hurry," she clapped her hands together. "Chop, chop."
Moren laughed and headed for the bathroom. "Yes, Mother," She joked before hurrying to get ready.
When Moren arrived in the dining room a short time later, neither of her parents noticed her late arrival as their attention was focused on looking over the various ledgers and stacks of papers in front of them. She took her seat, hoping her parents would be too busy to notice her and let her escape to her room. Moren was halfway through her breakfast when her father finally looked at her.
"I have canceled your sessions with the magical instructor I hired," Jayden said authoritatively, setting down a giant gray ledger. "With your pending betrothal to the Marquis, you will no longer need his services." The heavy-set man beamed before picking up another ledger to flip through the pages, looking for something. "I expect you to maintain your physical appearance until after the wedding."
Vifra hummed her agreement. "You will also tell that Dwarf that you will no longer need his services after today." She said with a scowl after mentioning the lower race. "Your future husband can rehire him if he wants, but for the foreseeable future, you will end all contact with him." Vifra sorted through a few more letters before jotting down a note after finding what she was searching for. "Your excursions out of the house will be heavily monitored until the contract is signed."
"I understand," Moren replied as calmly as she could manage without screaming at them. She set her fork down and pushed her plate away from her after losing her appetite. Moren listened to them talk about one meeting or another they had scheduled. Vifra and Jayden left in a hurry to make their meetings. She gripped the armrests on the chair so tight it creaked under her fingers.
"Lady Moren," Mika said softly while watching her Lord and Lady leave the room. "I'm so sorry." She resisted the urge to hug Moren in case one of the other staff members walked in on them. "What can I do?"
"J-Just be there for me," Moren grunted as she released the arms of the chair and placed her palms on the table. She had to take several long, slow breaths to calm down. "I'll be ok, Mika." She reached over to hold her true Mother's hand. "I'm looking forward to tonight." Moren stood up from the table and gave Mika a tired smile. "I will see you after my final lesson."
The final lesson between Master and student was an intense one. Moren had been using this as a way to vent her anger and frustration at her betrothal and her parents' treatment of her. Master Silvereyes ensured that the lesson would push Moren to the brink and push her past her current limit. Moren was battered and bruised after the first 10 minutes, but she kept up the pace to make this final session mean something to her.
Moren went on the offensive against her trainer by making several quick thrusts with her spear to get him on the back foot. "Getting slow, old man." She teased the dwarf and took a step back to dodge his ax. Moren managed to land a glancing blow to Thordin's left thigh.
"Dinnae be getting' cocky, Lass," Thordin grunted and picked up the speed of his attacks, sending his student on the defensive. "I've been holdin' back to match yer current skill." He came in low, hooked his training ax under Moren's ankle, and pulled hard enough to get her off balance.
"Shit." Moren swore as she stumbled backward and swung her spear to keep Thordin from moving toward her. "Not going out like this." She grunted and regained her balance in time to block a horizontal slash with her staff. "That was close." Moren shifted her stance to push back against the strong dwarf.
Thordin gave Moren a wicked grin, took a sudden step back that made his student stumble forward, spun the butt of the training ax into her stomach, and repeated his earlier move of hooking her opposite foot and pulling until Moren landed on her back and rested the wooden blade against her throat. "Still have some room tae improve," He said, resting the training weapon on his shoulder. " But I'll give ye this, I'm impressed."
"I thought I had you, Master Silvereyes." Moren groaned and got back to her feet. "I wish I could say I would see you tomorrow, but my parents had ordered the end of our training session due to my upcoming betrothal." She spat out the last word and bowed her head respectively towards the dwarf. "It has been an honor to be your student."
"Ye've been one o' my favorites, Moren," Thordin said proudly. "Gie me a message when ye want our lessons tae resume." He extended a hand toward Moren. "Yer order'll still be ready by the end o' the week."
"I will pick it up in person in two weeks," Moren replied quickly, handing Thordin a slightly larger pouch than usual. "Your payment for my final lesson and my order. I can't thank you enough for everything, Master." She gave Thordin a bright smile. "I will miss you terribly."
Thordin studied Moren very closely and jostled the bag a few times. "More than what I am owed, Lass." He said quietly before looking around and leaning closer to his now former student. "Yer secret's safe wi' me." Thordin started to pack up his things. "If ye ever need anythin', ye ken where tae find me." He brought a closed fist to his chest and thumped it twice against his dented silver breastplate. "See ye soon, Moren."
"See you soon." Moren nodded and watched Thordin leave the room for the last time from the training room. She looked around the room one last time before heading to her bedroom after closing the double doors behind her.
Moren spotted two servants, Sasha and Martin, who typically tended to Vifra, walking past her quickly and stopping in front of the double door to the training room. Moren watched them wrap a chain around the door handles and lock the chain in place with a prominent lock. Moren wasn't shocked that her parents would order their favorite staff members to do this, but she had to bite her tongue after watching them give her a condescending smirk as they walked past her.
She took a deep breath and resumed walking to her room, where she could scream into a pillow.
The rest of her day seemed to drag on as Moren couldn't wait to start her lessons with her Patron and had Mika acting as a lookout while she worked on a few potions or practiced some runes. On more than one occasion, Moren had to stop and leave her hidden lab when one of her Mother's servants came to check on her.
After a tense dinner, Moren was forced to let Sasha take her measurements for new dresses to try on for her upcoming betrothal party. The moment they were finished, she escaped to her room for the night and locked the door. She allowed Mika inside to help her 'get ready' for bed in case Sasha came to check on her again.
After a warm bath to relax her muscles, she grabbed a random book from her bookshelf and lay down on her bed to read to pass the time while Mike was working on knitting a scarf in a nearby chair. They fell into a comfortable silence for about an hour before the lights started to flicker. Moren and Mika looked up to find a figure hovering in the air in a sitting position.
"By the gods," Mika mumbled, dropping her knitting needles in shock.
"Close dear, Ceyanne Sunspring, at your service." The Archfey said with an exaggerated bow that flashed them a large amount of cleavage. "Excited to begin our lessons, Little Ember?" Ceyanne straightened up and rested her hands on her hip while hovering in the air. Her familiar scurried from shoulder to shoulder excitedly.
Luna let out a low hoot at the squirrel, her amber eyes gleaming in the dim light. She fluffed her feathers, tilting her head as if considering whether the small creature was worth the effort. Though temptation flickered in her keen gaze, she stayed on her perch at the foot of the bed, talons gripping the wooden post with idle patience. With another soft hoot, she ruffled her wings and settled back down, watching the squirrel with quiet amusement, as if she knew she could strike at any moment—but chose not to.
Moren closed her book and jumped to her feet excitedly. "Yes." She beamed at her Patron. "The day seemed to drag on forever." She bounced from foot to foot in excitement. "Mika insisted on meeting you out of concern for my safety,"
"I can understand that." Ceyanne mused, turning her attention to the Half-Elf woman. "Have no fear, I only want what's best for Moren.' She said in a kind tone. "I know my kind has a certain reputation for trickery and cursing mortals, but I want to see her burn bright in the world instead of letting her parents extinguish her flames with their greed." She placed a hand over her heart and bowed her head to Mika. "I swear on my name and honor that I will bring no harm to Moren while training her."
Mika studied the Archfey woman intensely for several long moments before bowing her head respectfully. "Please," She said in a respectful tone. "Make sure my daughter is strong enough to achieve her dreams." Mika folded her hands in front of her. "Moren does not deserve the fate that is planned for her by those terrible people."
"Mom," Moren mumbled softly, her voice barely above a whisper. A warmth spread through her chest, wrapping around her like a well-worn blanket on a cold night. feeling loved for Mika's words.
Ceyanne flew over to land on the ground before Mika, placed a finger under the Half-Elf's chin, and raised her head to meet her gaze. "You and I are in agreement." She said with a dazzling smile. "That is why I offered to train Moren before her escape. I want what is best for her."
"Then you have my eternal gratitude," Mika replied respectfully. "I would like to watch you train her if that won't be an issue. I can provide refreshments for you for your assistance."
Ceyanne looked Mika over with a lustful gaze. "I'm sure you can sweetie." She purred and licked her lips. "You look like a tasty treat, Love, and you are just my type." Ceyanne leaned forward a bit to tease the half-elf woman with ample chest. "I can make it a night you will never forget."
Moren gaped at her Patron, obviously flirting with her mother figure. Luna fluttered from her perch and landed on her shoulder and gave a disapproving hoot.
"I am a happily married woman, Miss Sunspring. Even if we are on different continents." Mika replied with a mild blush on her face and smoothed out her dress. "Now, you can start her lesson while I get some wine and snacks from the kitchen." Mika walked past the Archfey with as much dignity as she could muster.
"Such a shame.' Ceyanne crooned with a playful pout for a moment before shrugging her shoulders. "Oh, well." She snapped her fingers, and a gray leather bound book appeared in her hand. "Now, I will start with the basics of how your magic works and teach you a few cantrips and spells, but be warned. You will be limited on the number of spells you will be able to cast beyond cantrips. You will have to use your stronger spells sparingly."
"I can live with that." Moren agreed, accepting the book from her Patron. "So, where do we start?" She ran her hands lovingly over the book.
Ceyanne gave Moren a bright smile. "Well, after your hot Mother returns with our snack, I will start the lesson." She announced with a glint of mischief in her eyes. "This will be a fun few weeks, Little Ember. I hope you are ready for a challenge."
"Please, talk about my Mom like that," Moren begged with a shudder. "I don't need that image in my head."
"No Promises~." Ceyanne sang back before falling into a giggling fit. "Have a look at the book while we wait." She watched Moren's eyes light up excitedly while reading through the book. "This is going to be so much fun."
