Chapter 10: Deliberate Kiss and Moral Conflict

The system notification, [+2 Love Points (LP) gained! (Kiss)], pulsed in Kray's vision, a stark reminder of the bizarre new reality he inhabited. Healing through an affectionate kiss. It was… ludicrous. And yet, undeniably, it had just happened. Elara's cough was gone, her vitality renewed, and he had gained Love Points simply from her kiss of gratitude.

He stared at his status screen, his mind racing. [Kiss: Lvl 1]. Cost: 1-2 LP. Healing energy through an affectionate kiss. The words echoed in his head, sparking a dangerous, ethically murky train of thought.

Could he use this intentionally? Could he deliberately use the [Kiss] skill to heal? To gain more Love Points? The pervert in him, now fully awake and stretching its limbs, was already gleefully imagining the possibilities. A damsel in distress, a lingering illness, a strategically placed, healing kiss… the LP potential seemed… immense.

But the healer in him, the part of him that actually wanted to help people, recoiled at the thought. Deliberately seeking out opportunities to kiss people? Wasn't that… manipulative? Exploitative? Even for a Pervert Healer, it felt… wrong. Too calculated, too self-serving.

He paced restlessly around the kitchen, his internal debate raging. On one hand, it was a healing skill. If a kiss could genuinely alleviate suffering, wasn't it his duty to use it? Especially if it also generated the Love Points necessary to unlock even more powerful healing abilities? Surely, the ends justified the means, to some extent.

On the other hand… it was a kiss. An intimate act, charged with emotional and even romantic connotations. To weaponize affection, to turn a kiss into a calculated healing tool, felt… cold. Mechanistic. And undeniably, deeply perverted in a way that even he, the self-proclaimed Pervert Healer, found slightly unsettling.

He rubbed his temples, feeling the familiar stirrings of a headache threatening to bloom. He needed to talk to someone, to bounce these conflicting thoughts off of a rational mind. And in his world, rationality and unwavering support came in the form of his sister, Alice.

He found her in the barn, mucking out the stables with her usual energetic efficiency. He leaned against the doorframe, watching her for a moment, admiring her strength and practicality, her unwavering good humor. If anyone could offer a grounded perspective on this bizarre situation, it was Alice.

"Hey, Alice," he said, his voice a little hesitant. "Got a minute?"

Alice straightened up, leaning on her shovel, a playful smirk curving her lips. "Depends, Dray. Are you finally going to offer to help with the mucking? Or are you just here to… admire my technique?"

Kray chuckled, the tension in his chest easing slightly in her presence. "Neither, actually. I wanted to… talk to you about something. Something… about my healing."

Alice raised an eyebrow, intrigued. She leaned her shovel against the wall and gestured for him to lead the way out of the barn. They walked towards the apple orchard, the crisp autumn air a welcome contrast to the barn's earthy warmth.

"So, what is it, Dray?" Alice asked, her tone now serious, sensing his uncharacteristic hesitation. "Another new 'technique' you've 'discovered'?" She couldn't resist a playful nudge with her elbow.

Kray took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. He couldn't bring himself to explicitly describe the "pleasure" aspect, not yet. But he needed to explain the kiss, at least in a vaguely palatable way.

"Remember how Elara kissed me on the cheek yesterday, after the massage?" he began, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Well… something weird happened. The System… it gave me Love Points for it. And… and it unlocked a new skill."

Alice's eyes widened. "Love Points? From a kiss? What kind of skill?" Her curiosity was clearly piqued.

Kray hesitated again, then plunged in. "It's… a healing skill." He mumbled the name, feeling a fresh wave of awkwardness wash over him.

Alice burst out laughing, a loud, unrestrained peal of mirth that echoed through the orchard. "Kiss healing? Seriously, Dray? What next, tickle therapy? Are you going to heal people by… kissing them better?" She dissolved into another fit of giggles, clutching her stomach.

Kray's blush deepened, but he stood his ground. "It's… it's real, Alice! The skill description says 'Healing through affectionate kiss.' It costs Love Points to use, and… and I gained Love Points when Elara kissed me. It's… it's a thing!"

Alice, slowly regaining her composure, studied his face, her playful amusement giving way to a flicker of genuine intrigue. "Kiss healing, huh? Well, I'll be… So, how does it work? Do you just… go around kissing people to make them better?" Her eyes twinkled mischievously again.

Kray hesitated. "Well, that's… that's what I wanted to ask you about. I'm thinking… maybe it could be a real healing tool. But… it feels kind of weird, you know? Deliberately kissing people to heal them. Is that… ethical? Or just… really, really perverted?"

Alice considered this for a moment, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm, ethical perversion… that's a new one, even for you, Dray." She grinned, then her expression turned more serious. "Look, if it's a healing skill, and it actually works, then maybe you should use it. But… yeah, going around kissing people randomly does sound a bit… creepy. And definitely perverted."

She paused, a playful glint returning to her eyes. "Unless… you need practice? You know, to… understand the skill better? Maybe you should… practice on someone you trust. Someone… like… your loving sister?" She batted her eyelashes dramatically, a teasing smile playing on her lips.

Kray's blush returned with a vengeance. "Alice! Don't be ridiculous!" he sputtered, even as a part of him, the pervert part, was already considering the… practice opportunities.

Alice just laughed again, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Come on, Dray, don't be such a prude! It's just a kiss, right? For science! For healing! Think of it as… sisterly medical experimentation!" She stepped closer, her playful gaze locking onto his, a hint of genuine curiosity now mixed with the teasing. "Besides," she added in a lower voice, her tone becoming almost seductive, "I'm feeling a little… under the weather myself. Maybe a healing kiss from my little brother is just what I need."

Before Kray could fully process her words, Alice leaned in and gently pressed her lips to his. It was a soft, fleeting kiss, more chaste than sensual, but undeniably intimate, given their sibling relationship, especially with the added context of "healing practice."

Kray froze, his mind blank for a moment, his senses overwhelmed by the unexpected closeness of Alice, the soft pressure of her lips, the faint scent of apples that always seemed to cling to her. Then, as quickly as it began, the kiss was over. Alice stepped back, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of amusement and… something else, something he couldn't quite decipher.

Almost immediately, the familiar system chime echoed in his mind, and a new notification appeared.

[+1 Love Point (LP) gained! (Kiss - Familial Affection)]

One Love Point. Less than the two he'd gained from Elara's kiss. He checked his status, noticing the subtly different wording of the notification – "(Kiss - Familial Affection)".

Alice was watching him, her expression a mix of amusement and anticipation. "Well?" she asked, her voice light. "Did it work? Did you heal my… uh… sisterly ailment?"

Kray blinked, snapping back to reality. He had to process this, both the kiss itself and the system feedback. "I… I got one Love Point," he mumbled, feeling slightly dazed. "But… only one. Elara's kiss gave me two."

Alice's eyebrows shot up. "Two? Ooh, Elara's kisses are more potent than mine? I'm offended!" She feigned mock outrage, but Kray could see a spark of genuine understanding in her eyes.

"No, it's not… potent," Kray stammered, trying to explain the nascent theory forming in his mind. "It's… different kinds of affection, I think. Elara's kiss was… grateful, maybe a little bit… flustered. Yours was… sisterly. Familiar. Maybe… familial love doesn't generate as many Love Points as… other kinds?"

Alice considered this, tapping her chin thoughtfully again. "Hmm, makes sense, I guess. Romantic love is supposed to be stronger, more… LP-generating, right? So, does that mean you need to go around kissing all the pretty girls in Luma to become a high-level healer?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

Kray groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Alice, stop! This is serious! I'm supposed to be a healer, not a… kiss-collecting Lothario!"

Alice laughed, patting him consolingly on the shoulder. "I know, I know, Dray. I'm just teasing. But seriously, think about it. If kiss healing is a real thing, and it can help people, maybe you should use it. But… maybe just stick to cheeks for now? Unless… a patient really needs a more… affectionate kiss for their ailment?" Her eyes twinkled again, the playful pervert in her clearly enjoying the sheer absurdity of the situation.

Kray sighed, the internal conflict still unresolved. He knew Alice was right, in a way. If [Kiss] was a healing tool, he couldn't simply ignore it, just because it felt… perverted. But he also couldn't bring himself to view kisses as mere LP generators, to weaponize affection for personal gain.

"I don't know, Alice," he mumbled, his voice heavy with uncertainty. "It just feels… wrong. To deliberately use kisses for healing. It blurs the lines, you know? Between healer and… something else. Something… less pure."

Alice placed a comforting hand on his arm, her playful demeanor softening, replaced by a gentle understanding. "Maybe… maybe you just need to find a balance, Dray. Use it when it's truly needed, when it's genuinely appropriate for healing. And… try not to overthink the pervert part too much. You're still Dray, you're still a healer, even if your methods are… a little unconventional. And maybe," she added with a wink, "a little bit of perversion isn't always a bad thing. Especially if it helps people feel better."

Kray looked at her, his gaze searching, seeking reassurance. Alice's words, though laced with her usual playful teasing, held a core of solid, grounded wisdom. Balance. Appropriateness. Responsibility. He needed to find a way to integrate this bizarre new skill, this potent but ethically challenging power, into his healer's oath. He needed to be a Pervert Healer, yes, but a responsible Pervert Healer. A healer who used pleasure, and perhaps even kisses, for genuine healing, not for cheap thrills or selfish gain. The path was still blurry, still fraught with moral ambiguity, but for the first time since unlocking the [Kiss] skill, Kray felt a glimmer of hope, a faint outline of a way forward, a way to reconcile his pervert desires with his healer's duty. And maybe, just maybe, to become something more than just Dray the Quack, or even just Kray the Pervert Healer. Perhaps, he could become something… truly unique.
