With his gaze fixed on the small figure with black wings in front of him, the student's expression becomes slightly confused.
— What are you? — he asks, unable to hide his sudden shock.
— Haa...
— How long has it been since I was trapped in this book? Ugh, I couldn't stand that hell anymore... — she comments with some discontent.
— If it weren't for those stupid elves, I wouldn't have been stuck for over 1230 years... — she murmurs quietly before looking at the boy and analyzing him from head to toe.
— So, it was you? You freed me? It's a pleasure to meet you, master. My name is Elfina, and as you can clearly see, obviously, you can see, I'm a mainterne.
Not understanding what's happening, the boy asks in surprise:
— Master? Mainterne?
— You don't know what that is, master? The times really have changed, how crazy.
— Anyway, where do I even start explaining... Alright, alright. Mainternes are weapons that can transform and have an ego, meaning we can even think and feel on our own.
— At first, things weren't always like this. We were just weapons or accessories commonly used by the people of the land. At some point, we began to gain consciousness and because of that, we were used as weapons and such.
After finishing the brief explanation, Elfina starts floating in the air, looking around the forest. She then closes her eyes as the wind hits her face, a look of satisfaction showing that she's finally free.
— So you were that book and turned into a fairy?
As soon as she hears this, Elfina's expression quickly changes, and she shifts her gaze back to the boy.
— How rude, master, please don't compare me to that despicable race. They only know how to dream and live in a translucent world, afraid of being seen by others. How pathetic.
— But to answer your question, yes. I was that book, and if it weren't for your blood, I wouldn't have been able to transform. Seriously, I had been out of energy for centuries. I just needed a bit of fresh blood. — she says in frustration, crossing her arms, staring off into the distance.
— It must have been tough being isolated from the world for so long... But you mentioned you were a weapon? And now I'm your master?
— Oh, yes, yes. Yes, master. The requirements were completed as soon as I felt your blood flowing through my body, the contract was finalized.
— I am an offensive creation weapon, and since you awakened me and used your own blood to satisfy me, we now have a master-servant bond, — she explains in an excited tone, unable to hide her blushing face.
— So we have that relationship now… Not bad, — replies the boy.
"A weapon with an ego? Is she serious? How cool."
— Although I'm not sure about everything you said, how do I use you as a weapon, Elfina?
— Oh, master... Yes, I need it. If you want to use me, I... I need blood, — she answers obsessively, her gaze fixed on Rei's arm, which still has blood dripping.
— Ah... alright, here, — says the boy, extending his arm after realizing Elfina's intention.
— Ah, master, yes, that's right. Thank you for the meal.
Moments after saying this, Elfina snaps her small fingers, using magic to drain all the blood that's still dripping from Rei's hand, concentrating it into a blood orb that hovers in the air.
With a simple movement of her finger, she brings the blood to her mouth and drinks it entirely, as though it were a glass of juice after the liquid has been sucked through a straw.
— Kyaaa. Incredible, magnificent, splendid. It was so good, master, — she comments in ecstasy, her face flushed and her voice slightly altered.
— Right... Can you turn into a weapon now? — the boy asks, his tone uncomfortable, not understanding her reaction after drinking just a little blood.
— My sincerest apologies, master, I haven't drunk blood in quite some time, I acted on instinct, — Elfina comments after realizing her reaction.
— Now that I'm charged, I can offer you all of my abilities completely. — Saying this, she approaches Rei and transforms back into a book.
Unlike before, the entire book seems to move as though it were a living organism, constantly shifting.
— Open me now, — Elfina asks in her book form.
As soon as he hears her request, Rei opens a random page of the small book. When he looks at its content, he notices the pages have changed: the sheets are different colors from one another, along with inscriptions and a completely unfamiliar language.
This strange pattern repeats, with each page containing a different language and numerous figures and descriptions of spells and abilities he has never seen before. Although the content is difficult to understand, as Rei tries to comprehend what's written on each page, the complexity seems to lessen, and his knowledge increases.
— My lord, can you see now? Let me explain what you need to do. Each page contains a series of enchantments, spells, and different abilities.
— You will only be able to use them if you tear the page containing the skill you need. As soon as the page is torn, another one will appear in its place after some time, so you don't need to worry too much about it.
— Don't you feel pain or anything when I tear them? — Rei asks.
— Pain, master? Oh yes... Pain excites me, it's my friend.
— How?
