012 Second Kill! Arrival of Norman
"Leader Norman, what brings you to Jiang Cheng No. 3 Middle School?"
Inside the principal's office, a middle-aged man's tone carried both respect and surprise.
"I'm here to see an old teacher."
Norman Solaceon's voice was steady, reflecting his title one given only to trainers who had pursued and attained great power. Once a student at Jiang Cheng No. 3 Middle School, he had risen from an ordinary background, climbing to prominence as the Petalburg Gym Leader. His rapid ascent was due, in no small part, to the guidance of the school's former principal.
Without that mentorship, Norman doubted he would have ever reached this level. It was out of gratitude that he had sent his daughter to Jiang Cheng, ensuring she studied at the same school where his journey began.
"The old principal, he…"
"Haha, Norman, you finally decided to visit."
A cheerful voice interrupted them as a white-haired old man entered with a lively stride.
"Teacher."
A rare smile appeared at the corner of Norman's lips upon seeing the former headmaster.
"You haven't been back in over two years."
Norman's expression showed a trace of embarrassment. As a Gym Leader, he was constantly occupied, and the last time he had visited was when he enrolled his daughter in the school.
"Alright, I won't tease you. Come walk with me; let's see how the students are doing."
The old principal was in high spirits. Norman had once been the pride of Jiang Cheng No. 3 Middle School. During Norman's years here, their school had achieved an unprecedented reputation. His strength alone had overshadowed even the elite students of Jiang Cheng No. 1 Middle School, leaving the surrounding schools in his wake.
But after Norman graduated, the school had struggled to produce another star student, returning to its former mediocrity.
"Alright."
Norman followed the old principal across the campus. As they walked, they noticed a large crowd forming.
The battle between Qin Yun and Luo Qing had begun.
---
On the Battlefield
"Qin Yun, this time, I will defeat you for sure!"
Luo Qing stood tall, his voice filled with confidence. It was a phrase Qin Yun had heard from him countless times before.
"Boring."
Qin Yun had no intention of dragging this battle out. His goal was clear: end the fight in a single move.
"You"
"Ralts, close the distance and use Disarming Voice!"
Qin Yun's command was immediate. Disarming Voice was a Fairy-type move that had a natural advantage over Makuhita's Fighting type, ensuring super-effective damage.
"You dare approach my Makuhita? My Makuhita is"
"What?! How is it this fast?"
Luo Qing had barely begun to boast about his Pokémon's training at Jiang Cheng Gym when he realized Ralts was already upon them.

Norman Observes
"There's a battle over there. Do you want to take a look?"
"Sure."
Norman had just arrived at Jiang Cheng No. 3 Middle School, and this would be a good chance to assess the current students. If any of them showed promise, he might consider investing in their future perhaps even scouting a future protégé.

The Battle Continues
"Makuhita, use Tackle!"
"Ralts, use Double Team!"
In an instant, Ralts split into multiple copies, creating four identical illusions. Luo Qing's eyes darted in confusion, unable to determine which was real.
Ralts wasted no time. Seizing the moment of hesitation, it struck.
"Disarming Voice!"
The attack landed directly, dealing a critical, super-effective hit.
Makuhita let out a pained cry as its eyes rolled back, collapsing to the ground in defeat.
"Makuhita is unable to battle! Ralts wins! The victor of this match is… Qin Yun!"
Su Leyan's voice carried disbelief. She had expected Qin Yun to win, but not this easily not with such overwhelming dominance.
Until now, she had doubted his claim that he could defeat entry-level intermediate Pokémon. But after witnessing this battle, she realized that against weaker intermediate-level Pokémon, he actually had a chance.
For the first time, Su Leyan saw a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Qin Yun could reach the Top 16 in the upcoming tournament.
The championship? She didn't dare think about that. It was still an impossibility.

Qin Yun's Reward
[Ding! Mission completed! Rewards obtained: God-Level Lucky Card ×1, 100,000 PokéCoins]
The monetary reward was generous, but the real prize was the Lucky Card.
[God-Level Lucky Card: Grants the user the favor of the Goddess of Fortune, increasing luck drastically for 24 hours.]
Qin Yun's eyes gleamed with interest. The previous lucky card had already helped him obtain Ralts, and this one seemed even more powerful.

Luo Qing's Defeat
"I… I lost?"
Luo Qing stood frozen in disbelief.
Qin Yun was just a commoner. He only got Ralts by sheer luck how could he possibly be stronger? Luo Qing had trained at Jiang Cheng Gym, a facility that only privileged students had access to!
Yet, in the end, his Pokémon lost in an instant.
But no one was paying attention to Luo Qing's despair. All eyes were now on Qin Yun.

Serena's Reaction
A soft smile crossed Serena's lips.
"As expected of Qin Yun… he's still amazing."
She had briefly worried that he might lose confidence if he were to be defeated, but she should have known better. Qin Yun was still the same as ever unshakable.

Norman's Interest
"What an interesting young man."
Norman's sharp gaze assessed Qin Yun carefully.
Most people only saw the battle's outcome, but Norman had observed the finer details the flawless coordination between Qin Yun and Ralts, the precise timing of his attacks, and the calm decisiveness in his strategy.
"Norman, that student Qin Yun he comes from an ordinary family," the old principal remarked.
Norman was slightly surprised.
"An ordinary family?"
"Yes. No special background, no financial support. Everything he's accomplished has been through sheer talent."
The old principal's voice carried pride.
"This boy… he's just as talented as you were back then, if not more. If you're considering recruiting him, he might be a future Elite-level trainer for your Petalburg Gym."
Norman's heart skipped a beat.
Elite-level combat strength a rank that only the top-tier trainers achieved. Even among Gym Leaders, few had Pokémon at that level.
Hearing such a bold statement from the old principal made Norman truly take notice.
"But he seems… strong-willed. I doubt he'll be easy to recruit."
"That's fine. The most talented trainers are always a little arrogant. Just take your time getting to know him."
Norman chuckled. "Fair enough."
With that, he stepped forward toward Qin Yun.

Qin Yun's Shock
As Qin Yun prepared to leave with Ralts who disliked crowds he suddenly noticed a tall figure approaching.
His pupils contracted.
"The Petalburg Gym Leader… Norman?!"
Norman was the strongest Gym Leader in all of Petalburg Province. His reputation extended across the entire region, and he was regarded as one of the toughest challenges for aspiring Pokémon trainers.
Qin Yun wasn't the only one who noticed.
"Lord Norman!"
The crowd erupted in awe and respect.
In Petalburg Province, Norman's influence was unmatched. He wasn't just a Gym Leader he was a symbol of power, someone capable of shaking nations with his strength.
And now, he was standing before Qin Yun.
