"The Affinity of this Child is water. Take him away, he might be useful in a magic tower, but I doubt that because he has a low Affinity" The announcer spoke Nonchalantly as he told the mother, leaving her in tears.
It was simple. The child touched the transparent crystal dial and the colour it turned to showed the elemental affinity of the child.
Red - Fire
Blue - water
Green - Earth
Yellow - Air
The brightness of the light glowed was what alerted them on the level of affinity one had with the element.
"So I guess it's my turn huh" Charles scratched his hair, his hands were in his pockets, he wasn't nervous at all because he didn't care about the evaluation, he wasn't nervous because he didn't feel any pressure, he wasn't sure of the outcome of the Evaluation, but his mind was sure of one thing;
'my hard work won't fail me.'
"Give way to thw Young Master of the house of Flameworth. Charles Flameworth, come and Evaluate your Affinity." The announcer called unto Charles with a commanding voice.
Charles stepped slowly, his every step carrying the grace of a noble, his every step carried with dignity, he didn't walk like a child, he walked like a man, a man who knew the secrets of the world, a man who has seen death face to face.
"That's the young master? Seriously?" A man pointed out, he mocked Charles openly.
"His hair is black, are you sure he's not a fake?" A mother who was holding her child said.
"I guess the Flameworth have degraded in worth huh, even calli-"
It was fast, almost untraceable, the only way people knew that three people were instantly burnt to death was by the smell of the charred flesh. The fire ball that the Announcer had thew at each of the three people that dared slander the Flameworth family had burnt them to ashes.
'Noce flame ball, although I could see it, it was pretty predictable too, they were slandering the Flameworth's.' A smile going ear to ear ford om Charles face as he walked up, not stopping to look back at the sight of the people burning to death.
He reached the area where the crystal Dial was kept. It was huge.
'so this Is it huh?' Charles removed one hand from his pocket.
"Go ahead young master." The announcer urged him.
Charles glanced at him and nodded his head slightly to tell him that he's doing it.
He touched the Dial.
There was no immediate reaction like the others.
'what's going on? Why isn't it working?' The announcer thought to himself, he was shocked by the phenomenon that he had never seen before.
'give it time. I'm trying to reduce my mana output.' Charles already figured out how it worked. It read the mana in ones body and figured out the affinity from there. Charles didn't want to risk it, his quiet life and the ability to run away from the household to Ludia when he needed to, he didn't want to become someone important so he tweaked his mana input and made it smaller.
The crystal finally started shining, but something was wrong.
"Wh-what is happening? This can't be real!"
The announcer was in disbelief, he had a shocked expression on his face, his jaw slacked at the sight of the crystal.
Charles's hand was still at the crystal, he looked at it non chalantly. It changed colour rapidly, from Red to Yellow, to blue to green.
And then an ominous black, it was happening very fast.
It finally settled and showed a mixture of all the colours, red, yellow, green, blue and one colour that couldn't be explained, they just couldn't understand it, it had never happened in history before. It was the black colour.
The light from all the colours shined so bright that it was almost blinding, the different colors of light all blended together in harmony as it danced round the training hall.
Everybody present there was shocked, so shocked that they couldn't say another word. The beautiful light emitted from the crystal left a heavy remark on all of them.
'The young master. Just what is he?' The announcer thought to himself as he looked at Charles slowly walking out of the Training grounds with his hands in his pocket like he didn't care about anything, or as if he wasn't the cause of the commotion.
'So... What the hell was that? I was supposed to tone it down? But what? I have an affinity for every element? How is that possible? And I'm highly proficient in all the affinities too, the light was dazzling.' Charles scratched his hair as he made his way to his bed.
"Ugh!!" He yelped said as he squeezed his hair, he was frustrated that things didn't go as he planned.
He had planned to get a mediocre evaluation, making his plans smoother and being hated on, just like in those Webnovels where the main character acts like a loser and conceals their strength.
"What's done is done." He stood up from his bed and started bouncing up and down on it. It was a habit that he had developed to help himself think faster.
"So, I just need to start the training tomorrow, it's like the first day of school." He resisted the urge to stroke his beardless chin as he said In a low, nostalgic tone.
'what am I feeling nostalgic for? It's not as if I ever liked school or anything.' He stopped bouncing and sat in a lotus position.
'i have to get stronger, strong enough to be able to see my love, that's my only goal in this life. So for that, I'll go through anything, I'll do this training and come out stronger. Just you wait Marcelle.' Charles said to himself as he started Absorbing mama and increasing his control and skill usage, he had unlocked base level magic already, almost peering into the realm of a first circle mage.
~knock knock
It was morning and he heard a knock on his door.
He opened his eyes groggily as he scratched it.
"Who is it?" Charles asked, his voice filled with annoyance, they had disrupted his sweet sleep.
"Pardon the disturbance young master. But you are late for your first day of training." The male voice behind the door said. It was a voice that sounded strict like that of a butler.
Charles's sleep immediately ran off as hi eyes widened.
"What??!!" He stood up immediately, getting his training outfit and rushing out to begin his fist day of training.
