"No, Briar isn't dead. She's not dead. I absolutely won't allow her to leave me like this!"
"Search, keep searching. Leave no stone unturned until you find her!"
"I want to see her alive, or I want to see her body... Not a single piece of her can be missing!"
Gentry roared out the last sentence, using every ounce of strength in his body.
Private Shaw's face turned deathly pale with fear.
He hurriedly turned to search for my "body."
Gentry followed behind. Just as he was about to take a step, a child's heart-wrenching cry came from beside him.
Vivienne quickly brought the child to Gentry's face,
"Don't cry, don't cry, sweetheart. Do you miss daddy?"
"Gentry, the baby's been crying non-stop. He must be scared by all these people. Just hold him for a bit, it'll be fine."
In the past, Gentry would have immediately taken the child into his arms, overcome with love.
But now, looking at the child, all he could see were visions of strangling our daughter with his own hands.
