"Oh, damn it, I'm really unlucky. Just when I was starting to enjoy some peace, war breaks out." Ye Qiang complained bitterly.
After the Outer Sect Grand Elder dismissed the assembly, Ye Qiang returned to his cave. His focus now was on cultivating—he had to train hard! He hoped that his strength would improve before the sect-wide battle arrived.
Thanks to Mo Xian's memories, Ye Qiang learned that the strongest of the three major sects—Shura Sword Sect, Fumo Sword Sect, and Wujian Sword Sect—was the Shura Sword Sect.
Ten years ago, during a sect war, the leader of Shura Sword Sect, Chang Shengtian, defeated the Blood Sword Sect's leader, Shangguan Hong. Afterward, Shura Sword Sect became the top sword sect, and Chang Shengtian was hailed as the Sword God.
Meanwhile, Wujian Sword Sect had recently produced a genius young man named Lan Wujian, who was rumored to have injured the new leader of the Dark Sword Sect, Yao Bo, in the Holy City. It seemed his strength had surpassed that of the current leader of Wujian Sword Sect, Ge Tian, and he had earned the title of "Sword Saint."
Looking at how impressive others were at just twenty years old, Ye Qiang couldn't help but feel it was unfair. Here he was, just an insignificant pawn in the Blood Sword Sect. He swore to himself, I will work hard, I will rise, I will surpass everyone!
With that determination, he entered his training phase.
Ye Qiang's cultivation level was currently at the first level of the Bronze Stage. In this stage, the primary focus was on refining agility, strength, and physical endurance.
The most common practice for cultivators in the Bronze Stage was meditation, which helped them absorb spiritual energy, circulating it throughout their bodies to enhance their strength.
However, being from Earth, Ye Qiang had a different mindset. So, instead of meditating, he focused on physical exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, and squats to strengthen his muscles.
After a day of these exercises, Ye Qiang could feel the flow of weak spiritual energy coursing through his body, moving in all directions, from top to bottom and left to right. The sensation was incredibly satisfying.
He knew that this spiritual energy would help him improve his cultivation.
The next day…
"Heheheheh!"
In the cave, a huge rock shattered into pieces as a blue-haired, handsome young man smashed it with a single punch.
This is awesome! My strength has improved again! Ye Qiang was thrilled.
"Mo Xian, get out here!"
"Today, if I don't break one of your legs, I, Li Zhi, will be your grandfather!" A young man with a mole on his eye stood outside Ye Qiang's cave, shouting with a group of his disciples.
Damn, how annoying! Ye Qiang muttered in his mind before walking out of the cave without hesitation.
"Oh, it's Senior Brother Li Zhi. You're here to visit your little brother this early? Such a rare show of brotherhood," Ye Qiang greeted with a smile, seeing the visibly upset Li Zhi.
Li Zhi, upon seeing Ye Qiang, immediately shouted angrily, "I warned you before to stay away from my little junior sister! How dare you ignore my words?!"
"This time, I won't let you off!" Li Zhi growled.
"Senior Brother, we're both disciples of the same sect. Why can't we get along peacefully? Why do you have to target me like this?" Ye Qiang said, feigning a tone of sadness.
"Hmph, do you still consider me your senior brother? You know how much I love junior sister, yet you dare to steal her away... Enough talk, prepare to die!"
Li Zhi's words were followed by the flash of his long sword, which pointed directly at Mo Xian's chest after he closed the distance of several steps.
Ye Qiang calmly watched as Li Zhi advanced with his sword.
Three steps.
Two steps.
One step...
Just as Li Zhi's sword was about to pierce Ye Qiang's chest, Ye Qiang's lips curled into a faint smile. He tilted his body slightly and effortlessly dodged the deadly strike with ease.
Li Zhi didn't find this surprising. He had already sensed that Mo Xian's aura was much stronger than before. He then said, "I didn't expect you to have reached the second level of the Bronze Stage so quickly. But so what? We have ten people, all with cultivation levels on par with yours. Given that we are about to face a sect-wide battle, I'm giving you a chance. If you cripple your right leg and apologize, we can let the matter go. What do you say?"
Ye Qiang maintained his relaxed expression, replying slowly, "But I think it's you guys who should cripple your right leg and apologize!"
"You... want... to die..." Li Zhi and his ten subordinates all roared in anger.
In the next moment, time seemed to freeze, and the atmosphere grew tense. What followed was an unfair battle: eleven Bronze Stage youths versus a lone youth who had just entered the second level of the Bronze Stage, with no combat experience.
At that moment, many disciples gathered around, and the murmurs grew louder.
"Isn't that Li Zhi? That despicable guy, who is he bullying this time?"
"This kid is probably in for a rough time."
Among the onlookers, some were secretly gleeful, some quietly relieved, and others felt sympathy for Ye Qiang. However, no one was willing to intervene in their personal grievances, clearly not wanting to get involved and attract trouble for themselves.
"For some people looking for death, there's nothing I can do. Come at me! Don't disappoint me," Ye Qiang said with a smile on his lips.
"Fine, this is your own doing!" Li Zhi replied.
"Stop!"
"What do you think this place is?"
"If you want to duel, go to the Life-and-Death Duel Arena! This is the outer sect of the Blood Sword Sect. No fighting is allowed here."
Just as Li Zhi and his group were about to charge at Ye Qiang, a delicate, cold voice interrupted, and the noise around them seemed to disappear.
A tall, alluring blonde young woman appeared before them. Her figure was slender and stunning, with an irresistible charm. What caught everyone's attention, though, was her half-exposed bosom. All the men present couldn't help but fantasize about her.
However, there was one thing that set her apart—this blonde beauty wore a half-blue animal skin mask that covered most of her face, giving her an air of mystery every time she was seen.
"Ah, it's Senior Sister Jin. I wonder what brings you here today, watching us brothers spar?" Li Zhi said without hesitation.
"That's quite the act..."
Some of the Blood Sword Sect disciples who sympathized with Ye Qiang couldn't help but silently mock her.
Seeing this, Ye Qiang quickly made his way over to the masked blonde woman's side.
Feigning fear, he said to her, "Senior Sister, you've arrived just in time. If you were any later, I'd be dead at the hands of these people."
As he spoke, Ye Qiang pointed at Li Zhi and his group. His expression was fragile, but inside, he was secretly pleased with himself.
"You... Senior Sister Jin, don't listen to his nonsense. You know what kind of person I, Li Zhi, am. I would never do what this guy says..."
"Enough, this matter ends here."
