Chapter 25: Equipment for Every Body Part: Lion’s Bracers

With his attributes now bolstered and the number of zombies reduced to a pitiful few, Yazī wasted no time. He strode out from the corridor and charged at the remaining huddled group of zombies. These were all clustered together—a scenario that denied them the chance to engage him one-on-one. But that only made it easier for him.

Darting into the midst of the horde, his figure blurred as he weaved among the undead. Each graceful swing of his Tang Blade was executed with such precision that a zombie fell with every strike.

Now, on the third day of the apocalypse, many zombies had begun to reach Level 3. Meanwhile, Yazī was already at Level 6—double their level—and he sported a set of equipment that, during the early days of the apocalypse, was nothing short of luxurious. His refined swordsmanship, fluid movement, and razor‑sharp instincts—honed over ten years—demanded nothing less than a massacre.

After his final decisive swing, the last standing zombie collapsed onto a pile of corpses. At that moment, the front half of the corridor was littered with zombie bodies, blocking every inch of space.

Yazī then checked his "One Against a Hundred" task progress: he had killed 62 zombies. Only 38 more were needed before he could witness the true power of the normal cheat. Stowing away his Tang Blade, he began to scour the battlefield. Under each fallen zombie, he rummaged until he collected two items that glowed with a cyan hue. Most of the other drops were merely supply cards. One of the cyan items was his familiar [Super Flashbang]—though he already had one—while the other was the bronze‑grade equipment he had long awaited: a set of bracers emblazoned with a vivid lion.

[Lion's Bracers] (Bronze‑Grade):  A set of bracers imbued with the power of the lion, designed in sleek black with a lifelike lion motif.  Attributes: +1 Strength, +1 Constitution; on attack there is a 10% chance to stun the enemy for 1 second.  Stun effect: Reduces the target's coordination; if they are in the middle of releasing a skill, it will be interrupted.

This equipment was exactly what Yazī had hoped for—not only did it boost his stats, but its special stun effect reminded him of a similar ability he'd once possessed. Although the 10% chance was uncertain, when triggered it would be enough to disrupt an enemy long enough for him to finish them off. Equipping the Lion's Bracers immediately raised his Strength to 20. Feeling the surge of power within him, Yazī quickly reviewed his new attribute panel.

On the second floor of the sports center, there were also separate venues like the badminton court. Though their doors were all closed, Yazī wasn't interested in searching for zombies inside; he instead made his way straight through the main hall and into the safety corridor he'd entered the previous night. After slowly opening the safety door, he confirmed that it remained empty. Stepping into the corridor, Yazī ascended to the third floor. Before pushing open the third‑floor safety corridor door, he paused—adjusting his state, taking a small sip of "pearl milk tea" to quench his thirst—and mentally reviewed the layout he had long memorized.

He knew that a tough battle lay ahead. Unlike the first and second floors, the third floor wasn't filled with sports venues but served as the headquarters for Modu's sports administration. The corridor here was long, flanked on both sides by offices and meeting rooms. Once battle commenced, he would have to charge from the safety corridor all the way to the warehouse at the far end with little opportunity for rest. Retreat would mean causing a commotion that might alert hundreds of zombies on the first floor. With that in mind, Yazī unsheathed his Tang Blade, pushed open the third‑floor safety door, and stepped out. "Since I'm going to fight, I might as well give it my all!" he declared.
