Senior Sister, Live On

Chapter 79

"Junior Brother, I'm back!"

"I think I've also gained some insight into the Dao."

"Junior Brother?"

After days of struggling to comprehend the Dao, Chang Fei finally felt a faint connection to the power of the Dao during her breathing. If she could grasp this connection, she might be able to comprehend the Dao of Strength.

But when she returned to the cave, eager to share the news with her junior brother, she was met with a horrifying sight.

Inside the cave, Zhao Ming's body was emaciated, his limbs thin as sticks, but his stomach was grotesquely swollen, as if it were about to burst.

"Senior Sister, you're back. The tumor... it really helps with comprehending the Dao! My cultivation speed is so fast now!"

His sunken, withered face showed no expression, and his voice was hoarse and grating.

"What are you saying? Didn't I tell you not to... I'll go find Spring Drinking True Lord. He must have a way to fix this!"

Chang Fei's face paled, and she turned to leave, but she was immediately blocked.

"No need. He has already succeeded in comprehending the Dao. Moreover, he has gained the favor of the Deity."

The one who spoke was none other than Spring Drinking True Lord. As he looked at Zhao Ming, there was a hint of envy in his eyes for the power Zhao Ming had gained from the Deity.

"Is this what success in comprehending the Dao looks like? Spring Drinking True Lord, I beg you, save my junior brother!"

Chang Fei fell to her knees. Back in the outer sect, she had been ostracized due to her unusual physique. It wasn't until she entered Prayer Immortal Mountain that she experienced the camaraderie of fellow disciples.

Especially Zhao Ming. Though he lacked initiative and talent, he had always obeyed her without question. As they planned their escape, their bond had grown even stronger.

By now, they were as close as siblings.

Facing Chang Fei's pleas, Spring Drinking True Lord shook his head. "Save him? I envy him! This is the descent of a divine body. To be chosen by the Deity is an immense honor."

At this point, Spring Drinking True Lord no longer needed to maintain his facade. His words revealed his true feelings without reservation.

"The Deity? Spring Drinking True Lord, what are you talking about? I don't understand..."

In that instant, a strange feeling crept into Chang Fei's heart.

Soon, a low, muffled voice, as if someone were speaking from inside a sealed jar, echoed through the cave: "The Deity he speaks of is, of course, me."

The voice, though altered, was one Chang Fei would never forget.

"Li Youhe!"

It was the voice of the man who had brought them into the mountain, their master, Li Youhe.

And the voice was coming from Zhao Ming's grotesquely swollen stomach.

Chang Fei glanced back at Spring Drinking True Lord, whose face was now filled with reverence.

She realized that she and her junior brother had never truly escaped Li Youhe's grasp.

The man standing behind her might not even be Spring Drinking True Lord.

"What do you want?! Li Youhe, was bringing us to Prayer Immortal Mountain just to torment us?"

Chang Fei's body went limp, and she could only half-kneel as she shouted. She couldn't understand why they were being treated this way.

The Clear Mist Sect was a righteous sect. Though there might be some corruption, why torment them like this, forcing them to live in pain and fear?

"What do I want? It's simple—I want to become an immortal! Don't you want to become an immortal? Isn't that what everyone strives for?

Torment you? You overestimate yourselves. I simply chose a few people at random. Besides, I never lied to you. With your talents, you would never have reached Foundation Establishment in this lifetime.

I merely used you to test my techniques and cultivation methods. So, what do I want? I only want what I desire. Your life doesn't interest me. If you want to leave, then leave."

From Zhao Ming's stomach, the voice grew clearer. Finally, the stomach split open, and a damp, bloodied figure emerged—Li Changmeng.

By absorbing the power of faith and comprehending the Dao of Flesh and Blood, he could be reborn through others!

His hypothesis had been correct, and Zhao Ming had proven it.

Though he still didn't understand how his soul was generated within the tumor, there was no doubt that the version of him born from the tumor was Li Changmeng, no different from the other clones created by his endless bodies.

Chang Fei stared at the man who had emerged from her junior brother's stomach. Though his appearance differed from her memory of her master, she knew it was him.

"Possession? Rebirth? So this is your goal. We were all just stepping stones for you!"

In the next moment, flames erupted around Chang Fei as she charged at Li Changmeng.

Her thoughts were simple: he had just possessed or been reborn, so this was his most vulnerable moment. It was her only chance for revenge.

Spring Drinking True Lord immediately released his aura, suppressing Chang Fei's outburst.

"Spring Drinking, be gentle. Don't kill her."

Li Changmeng frowned slightly. It would be a shame if Chang Fei died now.

Suppressed by the aura, Chang Fei could only lie on the ground, her eyes filled with venomous hatred as she glared at Li Changmeng.

"I'll give you two choices. Return to Prayer Immortal Mountain and continue as my disciple. The sect's resources will be倾斜 toward you, and you won't need to sacrifice anything. Just keep cultivating.

The second choice is to leave now. My goal has been achieved, and you no longer have any value to me. The world is vast, and you can go wherever you wish. If you want revenge, I'll be waiting for you at the Clear Mist Sect."

Li Changmeng presented her with two options.

Faced with the choices, Chang Fei remained silent, her eyes locked on Li Changmeng.

"It seems you've made your choice. Spring Drinking, let's go."

Li Changmeng walked out of the cave, with Spring Drinking True Lord following closely behind.

"Deity, she showed you such disrespect. Why not kill her?"

"Kill her? That would be a waste. Her desire for revenge will keep her cultivating. Moreover, she has begun to walk her own path of Dao comprehension, which is a pleasant surprise for me. Make sure the Yuhua faction doesn't touch her."

"Understood, Deity."

Spring Drinking True Lord nodded. Though he didn't fully understand the Deity's intentions, he knew that following the Deity's plans was all that mattered.

To Li Changmeng, the body born from Zhao Ming was no different from his other bodies.

He could have chosen not to descend, and Zhao Ming wouldn't have died.

But he needed to verify that he could be reborn through the tumor.

As for Chang Fei, she had begun to comprehend her own Dao. Li Changmeng wanted to see—

If she didn't comprehend the Dao of Flesh and Blood, would the tumor continue to grow during her cultivation, eventually allowing him to be reborn within her?

Moreover, he had already cast the "Divine Fire Mutation Technique" on her, so he wasn't worried about her escaping his control.

Inside the cave, Chang Fei held Zhao Ming's lifeless body, tears streaming down her face.

Zhao Ming had only one breath left. His eyes could no longer see, but he could feel someone holding him.

"Is it... Senior Sister? I think I'm about to die. Let's not seek revenge. Just... live on, Senior Sister—"

His breath ceased, and his body went still.

Now, she was alone.

"Li Youhe, I will have my revenge!"

As she looked at her junior brother's body, flames began to rise from Chang Fei. Moments later, only ashes remained.

Finally, Chang Fei walked out of the cave alone, her face a mix of laughter and tears.

Her dantian was burning. The tumor was undoubtedly Li Youhe's doing.

But the tumor's growth rate far exceeded her expectations. Even as the flames continued to burn, the tumor showed no signs of being destroyed. Instead, its growth rate matched the speed of the flames.

The pain of her burning dantian was excruciating, but Chang Fei remained unmoved. She would let it burn until either she or the tumor was destroyed.

For the sake of revenge, she could endure anything. It was the only thing keeping her alive.
