DISCOVERY

Sunmi was furious,the destruction of the video, the only tangible evidence she had was now fried.it felt like a deliberate act by an unseen force, trying to stop her from discovering the truth .

She was more determined that ever to return to the forest and she had to be smart about it.She decided she needed more evidence, maybe something she had missed that night.

Sunmi tried the emergency exit but it was locked. A wave of frustration washed over her .it had never been locked before. The key had always been in her parents room but this time she couldn't find it. It's like the universe was conspiring against her.since she couldn't use the exit gate she had to resort to the front gate.

 She waited for her parents to leave for the party they were going to attend .when she was sure they had gone far , she left the for the front gate. But as she was about to open the gate, she heard a voice from the security post.

"Kai,small madam, where I dey go?"

A skinny tall dark man dressed in a security uniform called out as he came out of his post and approached sunmi.

"Mr Kabiru please open the gate"

Sunmi said in a very rude tone, then the man door in front of sunmi.

"Kai, small madam ,Big madam say make I no allow you commot"

Mr kabiru said in very poor English.

" Mr kabiru please open the gate, I want to buy something"

sunmi said impatiently ,

"small madam wetin I wan buy,I go buy am for you " mr kabiru said. Sunmi slapped her hand in her forehead In frustration."

Mr kabiru its not wetin I wan buy, it's what do you want to buy and besides I want to buy pad or will buy pad for me.

Mr kabiru hesitated at first, then he opened the gate.

Later that day...

Sunmi moved quickly through the forest , matching towards the burnt car with determination, hoping to find another evidence or something else.as she moved she had a shout , sharp, piercing through the night. Sunmi froze, fear gripped her. Her instincts told her to turn back and run for her life . She took a step back , ready to run , her heart pounding in her chest.

 Then the shout came again , clearer this time .she stopped in her tracks, her fear battling with an unsettling sense of familiarity.she felt a strange pull, like she'd heard this voice before. Then suddenly it hit her,the voice it was ….Emeka's. He sounded like he was in pain. She got scared the thought of a werewolf attacking Emeka fled her mind , without thinking she ran towards the direction of the voice determined to save her friend somehow.

After much running she finally reached the spot and she saw Emeka from a distance but as she ran towards him, she noticed he was in some kind of circle , and she also saw someone …the hooded figure they were chanting something which made the circle around Emeka glow.

Sunmi crouched behind a bush, her hands trembling as she watched the hooded figure chat grow louder.

Emeka's screams pierced the air as his body began to deform, his limbs twisting at unnatural angles .Sunmi breath hitched as she saw his hands elongate. His back arched grotesquely , his bones shifting beneath his ski with sickening cracks.

Sunmi couldn't take it anymore."stop it!"

she shouted coming out from her hiding spot.her voice echoed through the forest breaking the figure's focus. The glow around the circle flickered releasing a burst of energy that sent sunmi and the figure flying back a bit.

Sunmi dazed but determined, scrambled up her feet,she turned towards Emeka hoping she'd stop the horrific process.

But it was too late

Emeka had already completed the transformation.his body now stood seven feet tall, covered with pitch black fur, his eyes glowed red.

Sunmi blood ran cold as recognition stuck her, it wasn't just any werewolf. This was the werewolf -the one that had attacked her that night ,destroyed her car ,and left her life in chaos.

" Emeka" she whispered, her voice trembling .

The wolf snapped at her and took a menacing step towards her.

The hooded figure groaned from where they had landed.struggling to rise,they attached their hands toward the wolf as if trying to gain control ,but the wolf pain them no attention.

Sunmi's mind raced, she had no plan, no weapon,no idea on how to deal with a creature like this.the wolf growl grew louder as she realized she only had a second to act.the wolf prepared to lunge as sunmi frantically searched the ground for a weapon, her hands reached a branch and she raised it up as a means of defense.

"Emeka ,please!,it's me Sunmi" she cried.the hooded figure stood in front of sunmi as if to defend her but the wolf leaped over her and towards sunmi. Sunmi braced her self for the possible outcome ,the branch still lifted up in defense.but before the wolf could reach her, a sudden flask of light streaked through the forest.

A fiery projectile struck the were wolf sending it stumbling back with a howl of pain.started, sunmi spun around to see Moses standing at the other side of the forest,his hands out stretched, a faint wisp of smoke curling from his hands. He ran towards sunmi and helped her get up." Run!,I promise to explain everything later ok? , just trust me" Moses said ,his voice sounding urgent.

 Sunmi confused and terrified turned and bolted through the forest, her heart racing.as she near the edge of the forest, relief washed over her. She could see awesome lights in the distance. She pushed herself harder, desperate to escape.she was about to step out of the forest ,when she slammed into something solid.

 The impacted knocked her back, and she landed hard on the floor,dazed.she looked up and saw a faint shimmer in the air where she had collided.the barrier glowed faintly gold,it rippled like water to her touch.

"What?….."she muttered, panic rising in her chest.

She scrambled on her feet, and pounded against the invisible wall hoping it would give way. But it remained unyielding." No!,no!no" she cried , hitting it hard.

As she got the barrier, Sunmi heard the sounds of footsteps approaching .sunmi spun around , clutching the branch tightly. Her heart races as a set if glowing eyes emerged from the shadow.

The hooded figure steeped out from the shadow. But as they approached, they pulled back their hood revealing their identity.

"Tolu? What the actual f**k?" Sunmi gasped Tolu glowing eyes locked onto sunmi, filled with a strange mix of regret and determination.she raised her had slightly as if to calm sunmi." I'm sorry sunmi"she said softly.but before sunmi could respond,she whispered a single word in Yoruba ."sùn".

The word carried an unnatural weight , wrapping sunmi like a blanket. Her vision blurred,and her limbs grew weak, the branch fell from her hands.

"T…Tolu" she murmured as her eyes closed.
