20 HOLDING ON

Taehyung was being wheeled in to the hospital, straight to the operating room. Jungkook was running along the stretcher, holding his boyfriend's hand.

"Love, don't cry. Everything will be okay. Our little angel's a fighter just like you." Jungkook said.

Taehyung kept on crying as he was scared for his baby. He knows that he won't be strong enough to deal with another loss as he almost went into a downward spiral when he lost his eomma.

"I'm sorry Mr. Jeon, but we have to bring Mr. Kim inside now." One of the nurses said.

"No, no please. I need him beside me. I can't do this without him." Taehyung cried and pleaded.

"We will check you first, Taehyung and if we need to do a CS operation, we can let him inside okay?" The OB Gyne said.

Taehyung was squirming and reaching out for Jungkook.

"Taeh, love, you have to go with them. I'll just be here waiting." Jungkook said almost in tears, but he had to fight them back as he needed to be strong for Taehyung.

Hye Win went to the other side of Taehyung and held his hand.

"I'll go with you oppa. I can come in with you and then I'll come for Jungkook oppa later if possible, okay? We badly need to check on the baby now. Hmmm?" Hye Win said and finally, Taehyung hesitantly nodded.

Jungkook looked at his sister and mouthed a thank you, to which Hye Win acknowledged with a nod.

As soon as Taehyung disappeared into the big doors of the OR, that's when Jungkook collapsed on his knees and sobbed.

Jung-ah was quick to act as she went down on her knees and hugged her son.

"Be strong Jungkook and keep the faith. Taehyung and the baby will be alright." Jung-ah said.

Ji Mo leaned down as well and hugged the two.

"We can make it through this as a family, Jungkook. We're here for you and Taehyung." Ji Mo said making Jungkook cry more.

Please god, save both of them. Jungkook mentally prayed as he covered his face.

Half an hour has passed and Jungkook and the others were waiting outside of the operating room. He was silent the entire time just staring at the floor.

Jimin and Yoongi arrived later on with the former's hand casted. They were still at the hospital when Namjoon called them.

"Hyun-Joong hyung, has the doctor come out yet?" Jimin asked worriedly.

"Not yet, Jimin. Taehyung's been inside for about half an hour." Hyun- Joong said.

Yoongi sat beside Jungkook and patted his back.

"How are you holding up?" He asked the younger.

"Not too well, hyung. I'm really scared." Jungkook said.

"Hang in there. I know it would be very difficult if you need to keep a brave face for Taehyung, but you can do this, Kook. And we're all here behind you."

Yoongi said.

"Thank you, hyung." Jungkook said.

The doors to the operating area opened and Hye Win and the OB came out.

Jungkook immediately looked at Hye Win to see his sister's facial expression. However, his heart raced the moment Hye Win avoided his eyes.

"Doc, what happened? How is Taehyung and the baby?!" Jungkook asked nervously.

"Taehyung went through a rare case of what we call Amniotic Fluid Embolism which happens during labor, and apprently he was already in labor and 8 cms dilated when you brought him here.

This kind of embolism occurs when the amniotic fluid enter's the mother's bloodstream and that's what happened in Taehyung's case. It happened because he had placental abruption." The OB Gyne said.

"Doc, I don't understand the words that you're saying, can you just tell me how Taeh and the baby are now?" Jungkook said with his voice cracking. The others in the room were also anticipating the doctor's answers.

Hye Win held the doctor's shoulder asking permission if she can be the one to explain. The doctor nodded.

"Oppa, Taehyung oppa lost consciousness the moment we entered thr delivery room. Miraculously though, the baby was pushed out even in his unconscious state. The baby is healthy and fine. However, due to low blood oxygen caused by the embolism, Taeh oppa is in a coma." Hye Win said.

Jungkook felt his heart stop for a few seconds as tears finally rolled down his cheeks. He couldn't talk. He felt his heart clench and throat close.

"No no, it can't be. My best friend will wake up right, Hye Win?" Jimin asked as he sobbed.

"For now, we can only hope and pray." Hye Win said, as tears welled in her eyes. "He's going through blood transfusion now as he lost a lot of blood. After that, he will be transferred to his room and will be monitored closely." Hye Win explained.

"He will wake up. He has to wake up, Win. Please, please make him wake up." Jungkook said as he started to sob.

Hye Win hugged her brother tight.

"Believe in Taehyung, Jungkook. He won't give up that easily." Namjoon said as he placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder.

"Win, I need to be with him. I want to see him." Jungkook said.

"I know, oppa. I'll let you know when he gets transferred. In the meantime, please try to stay strong for Haneul. Do you want to see her?" Hye Win asked and Jungkook nodded.

While the rest of the group went to the waiting area, Hye Win accompanied Jungkook to the NICU.

When they got there, she had Jungkook sanitize himself and then brought him inside a room where all the incubated babies were.

"Oppa, meet your daughter." Hye Win said as she stood beside one of the incubators.

Jungkook smiled while crying as he placed his hands inside to touch his daughter for the first time.

"Hey little kicker. It's appa. Can you recognize my voice, my little princess?" Jungkook said. "Your eomma will be so happy when he sees you, Hannie. You will meet him soon." He added.

He looked at the baby closely and noticed that he had moles on his nose and lower lip. He chuckled.

"You're just like me and your eomma." Jungkook said as he touched the baby's nose and lower lip.

"She actually looks more like Taehyung oppa. Don't you think so?" Hye Win said.

"Very much so. Lucky girl." Jungkook said before looking at Hye Win.

"Hye Win. She needs her eomma. We both do." Jungkook said.

Hye Win looked at her brother and felt his pain. Though he was smiling, she could see the pain in his eyes.

"We will do everything we can, oppa. I promise you that." Hye Win said.

Hours later, Jungkook and the rest of the family and friends were advised that Taehyung was already in a private room so they all headed there.

When they went in, Jungkook's eyes immediately fell on Taehyung who looked like he was sleeping soundly. A tear fell from the older's eyes as he couldn't bear seeing his boyfriend in a hospital bed with tubes and wires attached to him.

Jungkook went closer to Taehyung's bed while everyone watched. He held Taehyung's dextrosed hand and kissed his fingers.

"Hi, love. I know you can hear me. You're still so pretty even in a situation like this. But, I want to hear your beautiful voice too, so please wake up love. Haneul and I are waiting for you." Jungkook said.

"Speaking of Haneul..." Jung-ah said, as a nurse came in pushing a baby cot with baby Haneul in it.

The nurse placed Haneul on one corner of the room, near Taehyung's bed.

"Love, Hannie's here. You should see her Taeh, she looks just like you." Jungkook paused. "God, please wake up." He pleaded as he closed his eyes and covered his face.

Just then, the baby cried.

"Jungkook, you might want to try carrying Haneul. It might make her stop crying." Jung-ah said.

"But, eomma, I might drop her." Jungkook said.

"Aish, Jungkook. If you can carry Taehyung you can carry Haneul." Jung-ah said.

Jimin laughed and Yoongi nudged him on his side.

Jungkook walked towards Haneul and when he looked at her, she had a onesie on with the words, "Daddy, will you marry mommy?"

Jungkook's breathe hitched.

"What?" Jungkook mumbled before turning around seeing Taehyung sitting down on the hospital bed without the mouth tube and the wires attached to him, looking at him with a wide grin. He was holding out a small box with two rings.

"Hi, Love. I'm sorry....really sorry for scaring you. But, after all the surprises and wonderful moments you've planned out for me, I wanted to do something memorable for you too. So, I asked Hye Win to help me execute this in less than two hours. So, what do you say? Capt. and CEO Jeon Jungkook, will you marry me?" Taehyung rambled.

Jungkook shook his head and mentally counted from 1 to 10. He was so mad and hurt at the moment, but so touched at the same time.

Taehyung pouted. "What? You don't want to marry me?"

"Of course I'll marry you, but I'm just so mad right now. How can you do this to me? I was so scared Taeh. The moment Win told us that you were in a coma, I wanted to run off and find the next flight I can fly just to calm down. I thought I was going to lose you." Jungkook said tears comtinuously falling as he hugged Haneul close to his chest as she kept on crying. "See, even Haneul isn't too pleased right now." He added.

"Just come closer please? I can't stand up and walk towards you. I can't even kneel down on one knee." Taehyung said with grabby hands.

"So, everything was for show?" Jungkook asked as he looked at Taehyung and the others in the room.

"Oppa, everything was real until after our visit to the NICU. When you left and I went back to the recovery room to check on Taehyung oppa, I found him awake. I was so happy and I wanted to run outside and tell everyone, but Taeh oppa stopped me." Hye Win said in her defense.

"I was supposed to propose to you after dinner since everyone was already there. The rings were already in my pocket and the nursery was set. That was why Jung-ah EOMMA (Taehyung emphasized and smiled at his mother-in-law who smiled back at him) was at our place earlier as she helped me set up Haneul's room. We were the only ones who knew about it, plus Jimin of course. So, I had to quickly change the plan. Win asked Jackson for help in getting that onesie from the baby store we went to once as that's where I saw it.

Everything really happened love, I just woke up from the coma earlier than they've expected. So, please don't be mad. I just really wanted to propose to you today."

Jungkook quickly moved towards Taehyung, held his nape gently with one hand and connected their lips together. He pulled away and let the younger slip the engagement ring on his ring finger. Jungkook did the same on Taehyung.

Everyone in the room cheered and congratulated the couple, which made Haneul cry louder.

"Omo, we are so sorry my Hannie. Come to eomma. You must be hungry now." Taehyung said as he took Hannie from Jungkook.

"Okay, everyone, shows over. Let's leave the mama bear to feed her cub." Hye Win said.

"Not so fast, Win." Jungkook said as he approached his sister, making the latter gulp.

The next thing that happened made Ji Mo and Jung-Ah smile. Jungkook hugged his sister tight.

"Thank you, yeodongsaeng (younger sister)" Jungkook said.

"You're most welcome, oppa." Hye Win said with happy tears welling in her eyes before leaving with the others.

Jungkook locked the door to give Taehyung privacy.

"Okay, coast is clear." Jungkook said and with that, Taehyung loosened his hospital gown, revealing his enlarged breasts.

"Whoa. They suddenly look bigger." Jungkook exclaimed as he climbed on the hospital bed to sit beside Taehyung.

"My chest feels heavier today." Taehyung said as he guided Haneul's mouth to his left nipple.

"You seem to know what you're doing already." Jungkook said.

Taehyung giggled. "I fed her earlier way before I was transferred here. One of the senior nurses taught me how to breastfeed."

Jungkook playfully glared at Taehyung.

"You were so mean to me today, love. I think I have every right to ask to be recompensed. You really did give me quite a scare."

"I'm really sorry, Kook. I'll do anything you ask for since you also said yes to marrying me. I just really wanted to throw the best surprise ever." Taehyung said giving Jungkook a peck on the lips.

"But, meeting you was already the best surprise for me. Nothing can top that. On being memorable, I'll give you points for that. It will definitely haunt me for the rest of my life." Jungkook chuckled.

"Okay, how can I make amends for what I did then?" Taehyung asked.

"I already have a suggestion but, I'll save it for later. I don't want Haneul running out of milk." Jungkook said.

Tarhyung elbowed Jungkook on the side. "You're so perverted. I just gave birth."

"That's why I said I'll save it for later." Jungkook said kissing Taehyung's bare shoulder as he peeked over it to look at Haneul. "She's so beautiful love. And look at those big round — "

"Kookie!" Taehyung said.

"What?! I was referring to her cheeks. What did you think I was referring to? Who's perverted now?" Jungkook laughed.

Taehyung rolled his eyes and diverted his attention again on Haneul. He turned her around so that she can now latch onto his other nipple.

"Gosh, she's a sucker alright." Taehyung said.

"Just like what I said earlier, she's just like you." Jungkook teased again.

"Your perversion is hopeless." Taehyung said, shaking his head while laughing.

"Okay okay, I'll stop now." Jungkook said as he sat closer to Taehyung and placed his arm around him. "Seriously love, thank you for this little munchkin and for putting a ring on my finger. Can't wait to be a Kim." Jungkook said and Taehyung looked at him.

"But, love, I want to be a Jeon. Jeon Taehyung makes my name badass sounding." Taehyung said making Jungkook laugh.

"What if we do it like this, we change our surnames to Kim Jeon Jungkook and Kim Jeon Taehyung." Jungkook said.

"But that makes Hannie, Kim Jeon Haneul." Taehyung said.

"So?" Jungkook asked with furrowed brows.

"I find it too long. Please let's just make it Jeon. Besides, you're the CEO of JJM now, so let's just keep your name as is. That way, when we have a boy one day, he will be a Jeon too." Taehyung said.

"Oh, about that, I haven't told you yet, but JJM will be under Cypher soon. We're merging the two companies together to grow the business. Cypher has a strong international network and JJM, on the other hand, has local and cargo expertise so it just makes a lot of sense to merge the two. So, I think Kim Jeon would be perfect." Jungkook said.

"Wait, but what about your CEO position?" Taehyung asked.

"I'm keeping it. Hyun-Joong hyung will be the Chairman now. My father has decided to retire. He and his wife decided to finally divorce so that both of them can marry the real love of their lives. Apparently, Mrs. Jeon also has another significant other but they really kept it a secret as she has a long-time girlfriend. But, now that both of my grandparents have passed, they are free." Jungkook said.

"Wow. Now that is what I call true love. I should make a book about our lives. It's so colorful." Taehyung said.

Jungkook chuckled. "Whatever you want, Mr. Kim Jeon Taehyung. Now, hand Hannie over to me, her head's been hanging and she's been like that open-mouthed for awhile."

"Aish! Why didn't you tell me?!" Taehyung said.

"She looks like a mini-Taehyung. I was enjoying watching her sleep like that." Jungkook said before getting Haneul.

Once Haneul was in his arms, Jungkook placed her a little over his shoulder and patted her back. And in just a few seconds later, she burped.

"Now, where did you learn that?" Taehyung asked, amused at his fiance.

"Been reading about pregnancy and newborns for the past couple of months, you know." Jungkook said.

"I'm so lucky to have you." Taehyung said while looking at Jungkook fondly.

"The feeling is mutual, love." Jungkook said, kissing Taehyung's forehead before walking over to the cot to put down Hanuel. He then pushed the cot beside Taehyung's bed so the latter can easily reach her.

"Now, it's time for you to sleep love. I'll just take a quick shower and then lay on the couch." Jungkook said.

"No you're not sleeping on the couch. I'll wait for you and then go sleep beside me. I need cuddles." Taehyung said.

"Okay love, I'll be quick." Jungkook said before tucking Taehyung in and going to the bathroom.

Jungkook was done in just ten minutes and when he got out, he saw Taehyung sleeping soundly. He smiled and shook his head as he walked towards the bed.

He then went beside Taehyung and watched him sleep.

"You'll wait for me, huh?" Jungkook chuckled and kissed Taehyung on the cheek.

Taehyung snuggled closer to him and buried his face on Jungkook's neck.

"'M sorry, Kook. So tired." Taehyung whispered.

"It's okay love. Sleep tight. I love you so much." Jungkook said.

"I wuv you too." Taehyung mumbled before completely falling asleep.

Jungkook dozed off peacefully, thanking the heavens for the gift of love and family.
