Arc 2 Chapter 12

Chapter 12: The Rising Storm

The Sects Begin to Move

The air in Murim was tense. Whispers of Haneul's return had spread like wildfire, and the power balance was beginning to shift. The Three Great Powers—the Heavenly Sect, the Demonic Sect, and the Golden Sect—were all forced to acknowledge that a storm was coming.

Inside the Golden Sect's hidden council chamber, an emergency meeting was being held. The sect elders sat in a circular formation, their expressions dark. Elder Jinhai tapped his fingers on the table, irritation evident in his sharp gaze.

"It's him, isn't it?" one of the elders muttered.

"Haneul. The one we failed to kill twenty years ago."

Jinhai nodded grimly. "There's no doubt. And if he's back, that means he's not the same boy we tried to erase."

A chilling silence followed. They had underestimated him once. They could not afford to do so again.

"We must act before he gathers more strength," another elder said.

Jinhai exhaled slowly, a knowing smirk forming. "Let the Demonic Sect make the first move. They won't be able to resist the chance to test him."

The Demonic Sect's Decision

Meanwhile, deep in the Black Abyss, where the Demonic Sect resided, a different kind of meeting was taking place. Lord Baek Mu-Sung, the leader of the Demonic Sect, leaned forward on his throne.

"Interesting. The ghost of the past has returned." His voice carried a mix of amusement and intrigue.

Standing before him was Elder Kael, a ruthless warrior known for his ability to sniff out weakness.

"Shall we move against him?" Kael asked, eyes glinting with hunger.

Mu-Sung chuckled. "Not yet. I want to see him for myself first." He leaned back, rubbing his chin. "Send an observer. If he truly is a threat… we'll either kill him or recruit him."

Kael bowed, vanishing into the shadows. The Demonic Sect would make their move soon.

Haneul's Journey Continues

Far from the political games, Haneul stood on a mountain ridge, gazing at the lands below. He could feel it—the world was shifting, forces were aligning.

A faint smirk played on his lips. "They're watching. Good. Let them."

With a final glance at the horizon, he turned, vanishing into the mist.

The storm had only just begun.
