(力量的低语 - Lìliàng de dīyǔ)
Raiko sat in the dimly lit dormitory of Azure Sky Academy, staring at his right hand. His fingers trembled slightly, as if the power within them was restless, eager to be unleashed. But he couldn't not yet.
The words of his father echoed in his mind:
"The world does not understand power like ours. If they see it, they will fear it. And fear leads to destruction."
He exhaled, clenching his fist.
A knock at the door broke his thoughts.
"Raiko! Are you awake?"
It was Lian Mei, her voice sharp yet controlled.
Raiko sighed, pulling himself up. "Come in."
The door creaked open, and Lian Mei stepped inside, her violet eyes scanning the small room. She leaned against the wall, arms crossed.
"What happened last night?" she asked.
Raiko hesitated. He knew exactly what she meant his fight with Bai Zhen.
"Nothing special," he said, looking away. "Just a normal sparring match."
Lian Mei's expression darkened. "Don't lie to me. I was watching."
Raiko's jaw tightened. He should've known she'd be observing. Lian Mei wasn't just any student; she was one of the sharpest minds in the academy.
She took a step closer. "You're hiding something."
Raiko didn't respond.
But then, she said something that sent a chill down his spine.
"…You fight like someone who's suppressing their own strength."
Silence filled the room.
Raiko forced a smirk. "And what if I am?"
Lian Mei studied him carefully. "Then you're either very smart… or very stupid."
He chuckled. "I'll take that as a compliment."
She shook her head. "Be careful, Raiko. If the wrong people notice, they won't let you stay in the School of Losers. They'll drag you into something bigger."
Raiko's expression darkened. He already knew that. The world wasn't kind to those who had power.
And he wasn't ready to reveal just how much power he truly had.
Later that evening, as Raiko walked through the training grounds, he felt a presence behind him.
"You fought well yesterday," a voice said.
Raiko turned to see Wu Jiang, a senior student known for his brutal combat style. Unlike Bai Zhen, Wu Jiang wasn't the kind to fight for fun he fought to dominate.
Raiko narrowed his eyes. "And?"
Wu Jiang smirked. "And I'd like to see it for myself."
Raiko's muscles tensed. Another fight? He had just finished dealing with Bai Zhen.
"I'm not interested," he said, walking past him.
But Wu Jiang wasn't the type to take 'no' for an answer.
He stepped in front of Raiko, blocking his path. "I wasn't asking."
Raiko sighed. He could already see where this was going.
The other students started gathering, sensing a fight about to break out.
Lian Mei stood in the distance, shaking her head.
Another test?
Raiko didn't want to fight.
But as Wu Jiang's crimson aura flared, Raiko knew he might not have a choice.
