Mrs. Wan's diary

The days before Oliver and Li Mo's wedding were full of emotions and activities. The house of the Li family had become a hotbed of energy, with relatives and friends entering and leaving while they helped with the preparations. Li Mao had decided to keep his parents for the last arrangements, enjoying family closeness before taking such a crucial step in his life.

One afternoon, while organizing an old closet to look for traditional ornaments that his mother had mentioned, Li Mao found a worn wooden box. Curious, opened it and discovered a small leather bound. He was from his mother, marked with the dates of his youth. Li Mao smiled at the idea of reading his mother's thoughts in those years.

With his mother's permission, he began reading the newspaper that same night in his room. The pages were full of memories, dreams and anecdotes of his life as an energetic young woman in the 80s. However, as he advanced, Li Mao found an entry that left her breathless:

"June 1985: today I said goodbye to Patrick, the man who stole my heart. I knew from the beginning that our story was condemned. My family would never have accepted a foreignerlike him. But even now, while I write these words, a part of me will always love. I hope that one day my daughter has the value that I did not have ... "

Li Mao felt a whirlwind of emotions. He had never imagined that her mother had lived something so like what she was experiencing. He closed the newspaper and held it against his chest, trying to process what he had read.

The next day, he confronted his mother while preparing the final details of the ceremony.

"Mom, last night I found your diary," Li Mao said, cautiously. I read about Patrick.

Li Mao's mother, Mrs. Wan, stopped what she was doing and sighed deeply. Then, the guide to the living room, where they both sat together.

-What do you want to know? He asked with a sad smile.

"Mom, why did you never talk about him?" And how does this affect how you see my relationship with Oliver? Are you happyfor us? "Mao spoke quickly, with fear and uncertainty leaking in his voice.

Mrs. Wan took her daughter's hands firmly.

"Lo Mao, Patrick was an important part of my youth." I loved it deeply, but I also understood that our relationship could never prosper due to the pressures of my family and society. At that time, I did not have the strength or independence that you have today. I always regretted not having fought for him.

Li Mao felt how a mixture of relief and sadness flooded his heart.

"Then, what do you think of my relationship with Oliver?" -asked.

Mrs. Wan smiled, with bright eyes for the tears she struggled to contain.

"I'm happy for you, my daughter." When I met Oliver, I saw how he looked at you, as if you were his entire world. And I saw the same in your eyes. My story did not have a successful conclusion, but yours can have it. That is why we support your relationship, because we want you to have the opportunity to live love without the barriers that I faced.

Li Mao hugged his mother, feeling safer than ever about his future with Oliver. That night, while sharing the story with him, Oliver hugged her and whispered:

"Li Mao, we are building something beautiful." I promise that I will always fight for us.

The discovery of the newspaper not only brought Li Mao to his mother, but also reaffirmed his determination to fully live his love with Oliver, facing together any obstacle that the future could present.
