Arcane Class

---

After returning home, Leo locked his doors and windows, making sure no one could interrupt him.

He sat on the bed, took a deep breath, and spoke aloud.

"System, what the hell is going on? Why do I have two classes instead of one?"

[Ding! Answering the host—User has undergone a soul merge. Both souls had different classes.]

Leo frowned. Soul merge?

[However, the two souls had polar opposite affinities, which conflicted during the merging process. To stabilize the host's soul, all affinities were erased. As a result, the host cannot awaken any elemental affinities. The host can only use pure mana-based skills.]

Leo's expression darkened.

"So unlike other mages who can throw fireballs or lightning bolts, I can't use elemental magic at all?"

The system remained silent.

"Then what's the point of being a mage? And my second class—Mechanic—it's a hidden class, but I've read about it before. They can create overpowered gadgets and items… but they have no real power of their own. Maybe they can build mechas, but what's the use if I'm weak as a chicken?"

Leo clenched his fists.

Understanding Mana and Affinities

He took a deep breath and tried to think.

Classes in this world gained skills based on their affinities or their connection to raw mana.

For example:

If someone had Space Affinity, they could unlock teleportation skills.

If someone had Fire Affinity, they could throw fireballs and summon flames.

But Leo? He had no affinities.

Mana, he learned, was a lesser version of Yin and Yang energy fusion—where Yin represented spiritual energy and Yang represented physical energy. That's why mana-based skills could affect both the mind and body, such as:

Calm Mind – A skill that stabilizes emotions and enhances focus.

Body Strengthening – A skill that temporarily enhances physical power.

Most people awakened new affinities every time they ranked up, but… Leo never would.

A bitter smile formed on his face.

"Even though I awakened a combat class, I have no potential to reach the top. At most, I'll be C-rank or B-rank. That's not what I wanted… I wanted to become the strongest."

But then, he exhaled slowly.

"At the very least… I can become strong enough to meet my parents. That's enough for now."

Just as he was about to move on, the system notification chimed again.

[Ding! Does the host want to merge both classes?]

[Both classes take different paths to level up, meaning the host requires double EXP to level up both separately.]

[There is a high chance that merging them may result in a stronger class.]

Leo's eyes widened.

"Wait… System, are you kidding me? If they could merge, why didn't you tell me earlier? I wasted all that emotional stress for nothing!"

[Ding! Answering the host—The host never asked.]

"...You son of a—"

Leo then spent half an hour cursing the system.

After calming down, he sighed. "Alright, fine. Merge them."

[Merging process started…]

[1%... 99%... 100%! Merging complete.]

[Ding! A new class has awakened—Arcane Mage.]

A rush of power filled Leo's body. He clenched his fists, feeling an odd sense of balance in his magic and mental state.

Then, another notification popped up.

[To view status, say 'Status'.]

Without hesitation, Leo said, "Status!"

Special Attributes & Class Rules

Every class has priority attributes (e.g., Warriors focus on Strength, Mages focus on Intelligence).

Every 10 points in a priority attribute increases all attributes by 1.

Hidden Attributes exist only in special classes. (For example, the Charm attribute for the Charmer Class. Without a high Charm stat, Charmers are useless, but if they max it out, they can control people with low Intelligence.)

Every 5 points in a Hidden Attribute increases all other attributes by 1.

Leo's Brain… Stops Working.

Leo sat there, staring at the screen.

His brain short-circuited.

"Isn't this too OP…?"

Before he could start celebrating, the system ruthlessly crushed his hopes.

[Ding! Host must remember—every power comes at a price.]

[Although Arcane Mages are powerful, they must create their own skills. Unlike other classes, they will not receive skills through leveling up.]

[The host has been given two initial skills, but to acquire more, the host must invent them or obtain special items.]

[Also, the host does not have affinities, meaning elemental magic is impossible unless the host acquires special items to grant elemental power.]

Leo's excitement died down.

"So I have an amazing class, but no pre-made skills or affinities? I have to create everything from scratch?"

After thinking for a moment, he grinned.

"Fine. If that's the price, I'll pay it."

"At least I have an awesome class now."

He took a deep breath, calming his racing heart.

Now that his class issue was settled, it was time to think about the Tower.

He needed to level up to unlock his initial skills.

Leo's eyes burned with determination.

"Tower… you better be ready. Because someone is coming to conquer you."
