chapter 148 slowing falling

The bell jingled as Mirsha stomped into Viles Private Vaults, her inventory overloaded to the point that she could barely move.

She was tired. She was annoyed. But most of all—she was rich.

Or at least, she would be, once she safely stored her entire fortune here.

As she finally dragged herself to the counter, Nathaniel, the banker NPC, immediately straightened his posture.

His eyes gleamed with admiration.

"Ah… Lady Mirsha."

He bowed deeply, his voice filled with reverence.

"It is truly an honor to serve a person of your greatness."

Mirsha blinked. "Huh?"

Nathaniel lifted his head, looking at her with absolute admiration.

"You are a rare and brilliant individual, my lady. Your wisdom and power outshine all others."

Mirsha grinned. "Well, yeah. That's obvious."

Nathaniel nodded in agreement.

"Of course. And for that reason… I have been instructed to bestow upon you a VIP privilege."

Mirsha's eyes widened. "VIP?!"

Nathaniel smiled, reaching into the drawer and pulling out a golden card—engraved with the words:

> VILES PRIVATE VAULTS – VIP MEMBER

Mirsha snatched it up instantly.

"This… This is mine?!"

Nathaniel bowed again.

"It is a token of our deepest respect. Only the greatest players receive this honor."

Mirsha puffed up with pride.

"I knew it! I knew people would recognize my talent!"

Nathaniel nodded seriously.

"We live to serve you, my lady. Your presence alone elevates this establishment."

Mirsha beamed.

"Well, since I'm so amazing, I guess I'll be storing all my stuff here."

Nathaniel clasped his hands together.

"A wise choice, Lady Mirsha. Your belongings will be guarded with the utmost care."

Without hesitation, Mirsha dumped her entire inventory into the vault.

Gold. Rare gear. Alchemy ingredients. Her backup staff. Even her emergency stash of potions.

Nathaniel handled each item with care, bowing deeply as he locked them away.

Then he gestured to the VIP card in her hands.

"As a VIP, you have special privileges, my lady."

Mirsha's eyes sparkled.

"Like what?"

Nathaniel smiled warmly.

"You may access your belongings at any time… during our VIP operating hours."

Mirsha paused.

"Wait. VIP hours?"

Nathaniel nodded.

"Yes, my lady. Unlike regular customers, who must wait until morning, VIP members may withdraw items starting at 11 PM."

Mirsha grinned.

"Ha! Losers have to wait, but I get special treatment? This is why I'm better than everyone else."

Nathaniel bowed. "Indeed, my lady. You are truly one of a kind."

Mirsha smirked, flipping her VIP card between her fingers.

"Alright, I'll come back later to grab what I need."

She turned on her heel, her posture radiating confidence.

She felt unstoppable.

Brainless Girl & Frost Eye – Watching from Above

From the rooftop, Brainless Girl and Frost Eye watched the entire exchange.

Frost Eye let out a low whistle.

"You actually made her feel like a queen."

Brainless Girl grinned.

"She's brainless. All I had to do was tell Nathaniel to praise her non-stop, and she'd believe anything."

Frost Eye flipped his coin.

"She really thinks that VIP card is real?"

Brainless Girl laughed.

"Not only does she think it's real, but she trusts us more than the actual bank."

Frost Eye smirked.

"And she just emptied her entire storage."

Brainless Girl leaned forward, watching Mirsha strut out of the vault.

"She's gonna realize the truth soon enough."

Frost Eye grinned.

"But by then…"

Brainless Girl chuckled.

"By then, we'll already be gone."

Mirsha strutted back into Viles Private Vaults just before midnight, flipping her so-called VIP card between her fingers. She loved the way it shimmered in the light. A true symbol of her superiority.

Nathaniel, ever the perfect servant, bowed deeply the moment she stepped in.

"Ah, Lady Mirsha," he greeted with unwavering reverence. "It is always an honor to serve you."

Mirsha smirked. "Of course it is. Now, I'm here to withdraw some items."

Nathaniel straightened, his expression suddenly turning solemn.

"Before that, my lady… A gift."

Mirsha blinked. "A gift?"

Nathaniel reached into the vault's ornate drawers and carefully pulled out a small, intricately designed vial. The glass shimmered with a faint green hue, and the liquid inside pulsed with an almost hypnotic glow. He presented it with both hands, as if handling a divine relic.

"This," he announced, "is a Supreme Poison Resistance Potion. A rare and invaluable treasure."

Mirsha's eyes widened. "Wait… like THE Poison Resistance Potion? The one no one's selling?"

Nathaniel nodded.

"Indeed, my lady. As you may know, the market price for this potion has skyrocketed to 100,000 credits. A fortune in the hands of any merchant… yet, not a single one is available for purchase."

Mirsha's hands trembled as she reached for it. "Why? Why is no one selling it?"

Nathaniel's lips curled into a subtle smile.

"Because, my lady, the one who once supplied them—Frost Eye—has ceased production entirely."

Mirsha froze. "Frost Eye? That thief? That backstabbing rat?"

Nathaniel bowed his head slightly. "Yes, my lady. It is said that he once flooded the market with these potions, but now… he has deliberately stopped. Some believe he hoards them. Others suspect he destroyed his recipe. Regardless, the result remains the same—his monopoly has left the entire world struggling for even a single bottle."

Mirsha tightened her grip around the vial, her mind racing.

If she sold this, she'd be swimming in money. 100,000 credits. She could buy top-tier gear. She could dominate the battlefield. She could—

No.

A slow grin spread across her face.

This was more than just money. This was power.

No one else had this. No one else could get it.

Which meant…

She could make demands.

She could leverage this potion for anything she wanted.

She looked up at Nathaniel, her eyes gleaming. "And you're just… giving this to me? For free?"

Nathaniel bowed. "A VIP such as yourself deserves nothing but the finest gifts."

Mirsha puffed up with pride. "You know what? You're right."

She carefully pocketed the potion. "I'll be back to withdraw my stuff later. For now… I have some business to attend to."

She turned on her heel, practically floating with excitement as she exited the vault.

Nathaniel, still bowing, watched her leave.

The moment she disappeared from sight, his lips curled into a small smirk.

Frost Eye and Brainless Girl – Watching Again

From the same rooftop, Frost Eye flicked his silver coin, catching it between his fingers.

Brainless Girl grinned, resting her chin on her hand. "Think she suspects anything yet?"

Frost Eye snorted. "Not a chance."

Brainless Girl's grin widened. "She really thinks she got the last poison resistance potion in the game."

Frost Eye nodded. "She'll protect it like a dragon hoarding gold. She'll refuse to use it. She'll flaunt it. And most importantly…"

He flipped the coin again.

"She'll make enemies."

Brainless Girl chuckled. "Enemies with money."

Frost Eye smirked. "Exactly."

The two sat in silence for a moment, watching Mirsha disappear into the distance, oblivious to the tangled web she had just stepped into.

By the time she realized the truth…

It would already be too late.
