Frost Eye hadn't hung up yet. Instead, his voice turned sly.
"Oh, before you celebrate too much, I have something interesting to share," he said smoothly.
Mist folded her arms. "This better not be a waste of my time."
Frost Eye chuckled. "Oh, trust me. You're going to love this. Remember that brainless girl you kicked?"
Mist scowled. "What about her?"
"Well, she and I have been running a little… business venture with Rainbow Solutions."
Mack narrowed his eyes. "What kind of business?"
Frost Eye sighed dramatically. "They think they're so smart, but they don't even realize how much they're playing into my hands. You see, Rainbow Solutions is hoarding everything—gold, rare items, inventory stocks—inside a private warehouse."
Mist raised an eyebrow. "A private warehouse? And they're storing everything there?"
Frost Eye hummed. "Oh, yes. And they're treating it like a bank, expecting to access their loot whenever they want."
Mack muttered, "This is going to end horribly."
Frost Eye laughed. "Oh, but that's where it gets fun. You see, Mist… I don't think you expected this particular private warehouse."
Mist narrowed her eyes. "What are you saying?"
A beat of silence. Then, Frost Eye's voice dripped with amusement.
"I own it."
Mist and Mack froze.
Mack blinked. "You're joking."
Mist's lips slowly curled into a wicked grin. "You're telling me… Rainbow Solutions is stuffing all their loot into your warehouse?"
Frost Eye's chuckle was pure delight. "I am. And they have no idea."
Mack ran a hand down his face. "This is insane."
Mist smirked. "This is perfect."
Frost Eye's voice turned teasing. "So, what do you want to do? You could expose them and turn the entire player base against them… or we could take everything for ourselves."
Mist cracked her knuckles. "Oh, we're taking it."
DING!
> [New Message from Frost Eye: Private Warehouse Location Attached]
"Well," Frost Eye said cheerfully, "try not to disappoint me."
The call ended.
Mist stretched, her grin widening. "Looks like we're robbing a warehouse."
Mack groaned. "Why do I still hang out with you?"
As Mist and Mack walked toward the private warehouse, Frost Eye's voice crackled through the party call one last time.
"Oh, and one more thing," he said lazily.
Mist rolled her eyes. "What now?"
"I'm busy. Just go to the warehouse, tell my name to the NPC, and they'll take you to Brainless Girl. She'll explain everything in detail."
Mack sighed. "You're really just making us do all the work, huh?"
Frost Eye chuckled. "Of course. Have fun~"
Click. The call ended.
Mist stuffed her hands in her pockets. "I swear, one day I'm going to punch him."
Mack smirked. "You'd have to catch him first."
Mist groaned. "Ugh. Let's just get this over with."
They reached the warehouse entrance, stepping inside to face a cold-eyed NPC standing behind a desk.
"State your business."
Mist gave a lazy wave. "Frost Eye sent us."
The NPC studied them for a moment, then nodded toward a back door. "Follow me."
Mack muttered, "Creepy customer service."
They followed through a series of dimly lit hallways until they stepped into a larger chamber.
There, reclining in a cushioned chair, was Brainless Girl.
She perked up immediately. "Oh, you actually came! That's a surprise."
Mist scowled. "Trust me, I'm regretting it already."
Brainless Girl pouted. "So mean. But whatever, I'll keep it simple. We have a lot of stuff here. And now, we're going to move it. Quickly, quietly, and without alerting Rainbow Solutions."
Mack crossed his arms. "And where exactly are we moving it to?"
Brainless Girl giggled. "That's the fun part! You'll see soon enough."
Warehouse Confrontation
As soon as Mist and Mack stepped into the chamber, Brainless Girl was already grinning like she had won some grand prize.
"Ohhh, look who it is," she drawled, stretching her arms as if she had just woken up from a nap. "Cute Mist!" She clapped her hands dramatically. "What an honor! I didn't think you'd actually show your face here so soon."
Mist's eyes narrowed. "Don't make me regret it."
Brainless Girl gasped, placing a hand over her chest in exaggerated shock. "Awww, you wound me! And here I thought we could be besties!"
Mack muttered, "I already regret this."
Brainless Girl wasn't done. Her eyes gleamed with mischief as she tilted her head. "Wait, wait, wait. You got kicked too, huh? Now that is hilarious!" She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands, her voice turning mocking.
"Wow, what a great vice leader! You must be so proud. Tell me, what does an ex-vice leader do these days? Wander around like a sad little puppy?"
Mist's fingers twitched.
Mack stifled a laugh, only for Brainless Girl to continue, her voice dripping with playful malice. "I mean, if you got kicked just like me, doesn't that mean we're the same? A noob like me, huh? What can you even do now?"
She put on a theatrical thinking pose, tapping her chin with exaggerated slowness. Then, in a singsong tone, she hummed:
"Noob vice leader, noob vice leader, what are we gonna do~?"
Mist snapped.
Instead of hitting Brainless Girl, she turned and punched Mack instead.
WHAM!
Mack barely had time to react before Mist's fist slammed into his arm, sending him stumbling back a step.
"OW!" Mack yelped, clutching his arm. "WHY ME?!"
Mist rolled her shoulder, flexing her fingers like she had just cracked her knuckles. "I needed to hit something."
Brainless Girl burst out laughing, kicking her feet in the air like a child. "Ohhhh, I like you. You're fun!"
Mack sighed, rubbing his sore arm. "I hate this job."
Warehouse Chaos: Mist's Rage & Mack's Breakdown
Mack was still clutching his arm, his face twisted in pain. "What the hell was that for?!" he snapped, glaring at Mist.
Mist scowled, crossing her arms in frustration. "I paid five million credits for you, and this is what I get? A useless idiot who can't even take a hit properly?!"
Mack's eyes widened in pure disbelief. "I—I what?!"
Brainless Girl practically choked on her laughter, nearly tipping over in her chair. "Wait, five million credits? You paid actual money for this guy?" She wiped away fake tears of joy. "Ohhh, that's rich!"
Mack looked genuinely wounded. "You make it sound like I'm some defective product!"
Mist jabbed a finger at him, her tone sharp. "You are! At least be a decent punching bag, you idiot!"
Mack took a step back, dramatically placing a hand over his heart. "I'm sorry—what part of my contract said I had to be physically assaulted on demand?!"
Brainless Girl gasped between giggles. "Hold on, hold on—Mist, you bought him? Like, paid real credits? Oh, I love this." She turned to Mack, eyes twinkling. "You're basically a premium subscription service now."
Mack gritted his teeth. "I AM NOT A SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE."
Mist ignored him, throwing up her hands in exasperation. "I invested in you! Five million credits down the drain! At this point, I should be allowed to hit you whenever I want!"
Mack sniffled, lower lip trembling. "This is abuse… I deserve better…"
Brainless Girl cackled, slapping her knee. "Oh, no, no, this is perfect. I was having such a boring day, but now? This is prime entertainment."
Mack wiped at his eyes dramatically. "You're all monsters…"
Mist rolled her eyes. "Shut up and follow me."
Brainless Girl hummed. "Yeah, yeah, go do whatever Frost Eye sent you for. But hey, Mist—if you ever decide to upgrade to a better punching bag, I know a guy."
Mack groaned. "I hate this job."
