Chapter 17 - The Great Heist and the (Lunatic Thief)
"Olivia, are you hungry?" Wutian asked, suddenly acting generous, trying to win her over.
Hearing Wutian, Olivia nodded and said, "I'm hungry. I want to eat."
She didn't feel embarrassed—she was truly starving. She had been enduring it because Ella had promised they would eat once they were done in the secret realm. However, Wutian didn't have much on him, only the huge leg of a Sacred Beast he had been eating while exploring.
"Here, take it," Wutian said as he pulled something from his storage bracelet. A massive cooked leg of a Sacred Beast appeared, steaming with rich aroma.
Olivia's eyes widened as she began drooling. "Really? You're so generous. I'll take it!"
Wutian nodded, and Olivia immediately snatched the food from his hands, devouring it in mere minutes. Even the bones were gone.
Wutian was stunned. This girl is really interesting... he thought to himself.
"Let's go. We need to take revenge on those guys who deceived you," Wutian said softly, trying to make Olivia feel relaxed in his presence.
Olivia, still licking her fingers, nodded without even looking at him, completely immersed in her meal.
Their journey continued, and within an hour, they found the group.
"Are they the ones who deceived you, Olivia?" Wutian asked, feigning ignorance, though he already knew they likely belonged to the same group that had framed Olivia.
Olivia lazily stared at the lesser gods and nodded.
"It's them. These bastards are still here. Can we do it now? I want to rob them," she said eagerly, full of energy after eating the Sacred Beast.
Wutian smirked and nodded.
"Wait here. I'll use a technique to steal their loot," he said.
At that moment, the group of lesser gods was gathering their treasures, preparing to split their spoils. There were various artifacts, herbs, and primal energy stones, piled up like a small mountain—a massive gain. The primal energy stones were the currency of the 18th Heaven, widely used in the lower heaven domains, though they held no value in the 30th Heaven and above. However, here in the 18th Heaven, they were invaluable for trading.
Seeing the treasure, Olivia nodded and waited.
Wutian vanished, using a concealment skill, immediately catching Olivia's attention.
"Huh? That's amazing... I think I got a gist of it," she murmured, staring intently at Wutian's movement, breathing, and aura.
It was as if he didn't exist—blending seamlessly into the surroundings.
"Amazing... I need to learn this," she whispered.
She kept watching, her eyes locked on Wutian's technique. Suddenly, she fell into a trance, her mind absorbing the technique's essence.
Then, the familiar system notification rang.
Ding!
[Skill Comprehended: Phantom Veil]
▶ Effect: Suppresses movement, breathing, and aura to the point of near-nonexistence, seamlessly blending into the surroundings. Makes detection nearly impossible unless the opponent possesses vastly superior perception.
▶ Grade: Mythic
▶ Type: Stealth/Concealment
▶ System Note: This skill allows the user to erase their presence, achieving a state where even gods may overlook their existence. However, higher-realm beings or those with specialized detection abilities may still perceive traces of the user.
But Olivia wasn't listening—she was still in a state of enlightenment, and her strength had reached perfection.
Opening her eyes, she was shocked to see herself flickering like a flame.
What is this? I feel like I can become even stronger now…
She immediately asked the system, "System, what happened to me?"
Ding!
▶ Breakthrough Imminent!
[The host is on the verge of advancing to the Inferno Realm. Your current state is flawlessly optimized, preventing any harm from the Reversion Process during the breakthrough.]
"Breakthrough? So I'm about to break through... okay," Olivia muttered.
Without hesitation, she activated Phantom Veil, completely vanishing as she merged into the surroundings. Her breathing was silent, her aura erased—she was practically invisible.
With this, she gained confidence in her plan.
Slipping through the shadows, she arrived at the group without Wutian even noticing.
Then—she began stealing everything.
Artifacts, herbs, and primal energy stones vanished into her storage ring, completely unnoticed.
Wutian, about to step forward, suddenly froze.
"What the hell happened?!" he muttered, looking around in confusion.
All the treasure had disappeared.
He was about to continue moving, but suddenly, he dropped to his knees, completely unable to move.
At the same time, his storage bracelet was snatched from his wrist.
What? Someone is robbing me?!
His mind went blank.
Looking up, he saw that the entire group of lesser gods had also fallen to their knees.
"What the hell is going on?" he said furiously.
Those lesser gods were equally enraged.
"You thief! Let us go! I will definitely tear you apart!" one of them shouted.
They had risked their lives to obtain those treasures, only for them to vanish instantly.
Seeing Wutian kneeling in front of where the treasure had been, they immediately assumed he was the culprit.
"You bastard! I will eat your penis! Let us go! Your wife—your grandmother—I will definitely f*** them!" one of them spat in rage.
Hearing this, Wutian's expression darkened.
Though he was also trapped, they kept blaming him for stealing their loot.
His face twisted in anger, and he sneered.
"You trash—kill me if you can! Do you really think you have the power? Come and do it!" he growled, tilting his head slightly, exposing his neck in defiance.
"Bastard!"
The lesser gods' faces turned ugly—they wanted to tear him apart, but they couldn't move either.
Meanwhile, Olivia had already fled far from them, not bothering to take revenge anymore.
She asked the system to locate Ella, making it easy to navigate without hindrance.
With her new concealment skill, she avoided all enemies effortlessly.
"I miss Eri…" Olivia whispered, running at full speed toward her twin sister.
Meanwhile, Ella was still hovering in the air.
Many lesser gods had passed her, but none noticed her presence.
She had already recovered 70% of her full strength but felt it wasn't enough—she wanted to be in her peak condition before leaving.
So, she remained cross-legged, continuing her recovery.
As she absorbed energy, she overheard rumors about a boy named Wutian.
Due to her sharp hearing, she could eavesdrop on distant conversations.
Apparently, Wutian was known as "the lunatic thief", someone who had repeatedly escaped impossible situations, always getting away.
"Damn, he's like a main character," Ella thought.
She didn't expect to encounter someone with an immense fate in this place.
Well, whatever… Even if he's some kind of old monster's reincarnation, I'll still kill him if he ever hurts Vivi.
With that resolve, Ella sped up her absorption, preparing to find Olivia with ease.
