REACH FOR THE STARS - EPISODE - 01 : Second Chance

"We are in an island far, far away from civilization. Hello, my name is Boba Tea! And this is my assistant Brownie!", said Boba Tea. "Hey ya'll!", said Brownie. 

"This is where the magic happens, 18 selected contestants from all around the globe, will compete here to win a million dollars!" "They will have to endure dangerous challenges, nature life and food, that is made by me!", said Brownie. "That's right gal. Once all our players get here, they will be separated into 2 teams of 9, each episode they will have to face a challenge to secure their safety throught the game", said Boba Tea. "Once a team loses a challenge they will face the elimination where they will have to vote off a player of the team", said Brownie. "So, sit back, relax and enjoy -" 

"REACH FOR THE STARS!", said Brownie.

"Seriously", said Boba Tea.

After that, the players have already arrived to the island on a wooden boat.

"Finally! It is getting cramp around there", said Blueberry Muffin.

"I know right. Can't the host just get a better boat next time?", said Floppy Disk.

"Here are the 18 players who are competing for the million dollars!"

"Apple, Banana, Bandana, Mango Sago, Blueberry Muffin, Floppy Disk,

Cocoa, Matcha, Briefcase, Vanilla Latte, Lotus, Perfume,

Tie, Herbal Tea, Lamp, Sword, Rose Milk and lastly my old co-host, Nightfall Pattern…"

"Wait. Nightfall Pattern? What are you doing here?", said Breifcase.

"Well, since I have the experience as a co-host, why not try having an experience as a contestant," said Nightfall Pattern.

"Ok, then. But if you get eliminated, just try not to cry," said Briefcase.

"That was actually mean BF," Boba Tea cut Briefcase off.

"Wow. I have never been into a competition show before this", said Bandana.

"Well, since this is your first time here and everyone else is here too, let me explain the rules of this game", said Boba Tea. "But first we need to get you 18 into 2 teams of 9."

"Everyone stand infront of me and Brownie, please."

Everyone stand infront of Boba Tea and Brownie

"So, I will separate you 18 into 2 teams of 9. The players who are called first must go and stand near the pink mat and-"

"Ewww. If I get the colour pink, I SWEAR TO-", interrupted by Sword.

"Sword you better calm down, we haven't started yet," said Brownie.

"Or else what?"

"OR ELSE I am going to DISQUALIFIED YOU from the competition!", shouted Boba Tea.

Sword goes in silence after that.

"As I was saying, the players who I called will stand on the pink mat while the other players whom I did not call must stand on the purple mat," said Boba Tea.

"So, on the Pink team will have, Apple, Banana, Mango Sago, Blueberry Muffin, Cocoa, Matcha, Rose Milk, Herbal Tea and Vanilla Latte. Please go stand on the pink mat."

"No! VL-", said Briefcase.

"It's ok Briefcase. I am sure we can meet each other during the merge," said Vanilla Latte.

Sword gave a stare at Briefcase.

"And now the rest - Bandana, Floppy Disk, Briefcase, Lotus, Perfume, Tie, Lamp, Sword and Nightfall Pattern, you are the Purple Team, please go stand on the purple mat," said Brownie.

"Now, all of you are put into teams, I am going to give you an hour for you guys to do introductions among your teammates and if you all are wondering where you guys will be sleeping, to my right will be Team Pink's cabin while to my left is where Team Purple's cabin," said Boba Tea.

"Get to your cabins! Chop Chop!" said Brownie.

All of the players went to their team's respective cabins.

-Team Pink's Cabin-

"I can't believe that Boba Tea put all food and drinks on one team while the other's who are not food and drinks like us are put on the other team," said Rose Milk.

"We will dominate this competition for sure! But we should do introductions first," said Herbal Tea.

"What about we start you muffin?", said Banana.

Blueberry looks to them and shyfully responds.

"H-Hi, my name is B-Blueberry Muffin and I-uhm…uhm."

"Uhmmm… Please we don't have time for you stammering", said Banana.

"She is just shy that's all", said Vanilla Latte.

"And how you know that?'', said Rose Milk.

"Before this, Boba Tea hosted a show where it took place in the city. Me and 9 other people competed for a million dollars. Sadly, the show is cancelled due to the budget cuts", said Vanilla Latte.

"Me, Vanilla Latte, Blueberry Muffin, Mango Sago and Cocoa competed in that show before", said Matcha.

"That's wonderful! Now, without wasting any precious time, let's continue our introductions", said Herbal Tea.

"Well. Ok. My name is-" 

"No. Cocoa. How about we continue with Rose Milk."

"Oh, It's fine Herbal Tea. Cocoa, you can-"

"I said YOU Rose Milk! Not some beverage from Starbucks", said Herbal Tea angrily.

"Hi, I am Rose Milk and I am glad to be on an all desserts team!", said Rose Milk.

"It's nice to meet you Rosey-" , said Cocoa

"What did you call me, Cocoa?", questioned Rose Milk.

There was a moment of silence between Rose Milk and Cocoa until Herbal Tea interrupted.

"Anyways, who wants to introduce next?"

"I am sorry Rose Milk for telling you that nickna-"

"Its fine…Cocoa. You can tell me that name."

"Wait. Seriously?", surprised Cocoa.

"Yes. You can."

"Ok then…Rosey."

-Team Purple's Cabin-

Floppy Disk spotted Briefcase sitting by the window feeling sad. 

"Briefcase?"

Briefcase turned around and saw Floppy Disk and said

"Yes, FD?"

"What happened to you?"

Breifcase was silent upon hearing that question

"You know you can tell me. After all, we competed in the same show."

"It's just that-"

"It's about Vanilla Latte isn't it?"

"Y-Yeah…"

"Don't be sad Briefcase. I am sure you will meet Vanilla Latte once we have free time."

"It's not about meeting her during leisure time. It's just that-"

"Just about what?", Nightfall Pattern

Briefcase and Floppy Disk are staring at Nightfall Pattern.

"Oops. Sorry to disturb you both."

"It's alright", said Briefcase.

"Anyways, Perfume asks us to the catering tent to discuss our strategies or something."

"Oh. Ok", said Floppy Disk.

Nightfall Pattern and Floppy Disk are walking out from the room. Floppy Disk stopped and turned behind to see that Briefcase is still looking gloomy.

"Hey, bud. Do turn that frown upside down, please."

Briefcase looks up and a little smile is shown on his face.

"Sure."

Briefcase and Floppy Disk are both walking out from the room together.

"Alright is everyone here?" , said Perfume.

"I think so. We are just waiting for 2 more," said Nightfall Pattern.

"Here they are!", shouted Bandana.

Briefcase and Floppy Disk walks into the catering tent and took a seat.

"Okay. Now that everyone is hare, we can start by thinking of strategies throught the game," said Perfume while taking a sip of her coffee.

"How about this?", said Bandana. "But, this is going to be a bit tricky.''

"Spill it out," said Perfume with interest.

"Okay, why not we try to ruin the opposing team's trust among their teammates?"

"Isn't it a bit early for drama?", questioned Tie.

"Oh darling, it is always to have drama in shows like these," said Perfume.

"Don't call me that," said Tie.

Perfume went silence for a while.

"But, how are we going to make their trust breakable?", said Sword.

"It's simple, we just try to blame a team member that "purposely" did something from the other team that do the challenge. We will trick that person into doing it, obviously," said Bandana.

"But, we don't even-"

"Enough with the questions Sword," said Bandana.

Sword went silence.

"Well. It is perfect," said Lotus.

"Thank you, ma'am."

Lotus chuckled.

"I don't think so this is a good idea", said Briefcase looking down at the floor.

Everyone was eyeing at him.

"What makes you say so?", questioned Lotus.

"I don't want to ruin the opposing team's trust."

"Listen here. This show is not all about friendships, okay? It is all about betrayal!" , said Bandana.

"Bandana, calm dow-" 

"Don't tell me to calm down you piece of METAL!"

"Oh-ho it is on, piece of cloth!"

"Boys, please don't start a fight", said Lotus.

 But, it was too late. Sword and Bandana are fighting on the table. 

"Huffs….Ok…I think that's enough Sw-"

Without dilly-dally, Sword jumped onto Bandana and impaled him.

"Sword! Why would you do that!", said Lamp with anger.

"Relax bro. There is a nearby recovery centre. I am sure he will be recovered in no time", said Sword with calm.

"But, that doesn't mean you could kill our own teammate", said Nightfall Pattern.

"He is the one who started it", said Sword.

"Well but-"

Ding…Ding…Ding…Ding…

"Alright contestants! Meet me and Brownie near the dock! It is time to start the first challenge!", exclaimed Boba Tea.

 ***

"Wait. Where is Bandana?"

Team members from Team Purple are eyeing on Sword. 

Sword, with proud, said "He is the one who started it."

"But, you shouldn't do that-"

"Shut up you nightlight!"

"I am not a-"

Boba Tea with a snap of his fingers made Bandana alive.

"How did you-"

"We are out of topic. Anyways, welcome to the first challenge of the season!"

"This challenge will be a simple dodgeball game", said Brownie.

"Oh. How fun…", said Sword.

"Well, I mean this is your first challenge of the season. So, me and Boba Tea decided to make it simple."

"So, your goal is to knock all of the players from your opposing team", said Boba Tea.

"If you managed to knock off a player from the opposing team, that player is out. If you throw a dodgeball to one of your teammates in your own team, that player will be also out. If your opposing team throw the ball and you catch it, the opposing team member is also out. "

"Then, if you throw on yourself, you are also out, right?", questioned Mango Sago.

"Since when did you become stupid'', asked Banana.

Mango Sago didn't respond to the compliment.

"Yes MS", said Boba Tea.

"Anyways, the team that have all the players knocked off will face elimination tonight. 

"Wait. Why elimination on the first episode? This is our first day here. Some shows like this have the elimination on the next episode after the challenge.

"But majority of the shows like this have the elimination tonight, even the first episode itself. Oh right, one more thing, did everyone bring their own identification cards because I am going to fill out some paperwork for the new season. Tomorrow morning, I will give you back your ICs.

Everyone nods their heads.

"Alright, I am going to teleport you all to the field to start the game."

Once everyone was teleported to the field, Boba Tea announced :

"Alright, challenge starts NOW!"

"First things first."

Herbal Tea throws the ball towards Cocoa.

"Herbal Tea, what the-"

"And it looks like Cocoa is out from the Pink Team. So, sad. 17 remained."

"Rose Milk, why would you eliminate our team member?", questioned Rose Milk.

"Meet me at the catering tent later after the challenge. I will tell you why."

"Ok. Then."

Matcha was watching Rose Milk and Herbal Tea from afar and then shift her look to Cocoa who was sitting on the bench.

"Ok team. The other team is finally doing a good job making one of their team member's out. Now, plan time", said Bandana.

"How about this?"

Sword throws 2 balls directly to both Vanilla Latte and Rose Milk. Rose Milk caught the ball. The ball went straight towards Vanilla Latte's face.

"Ow. Hey!"

"Well, it looks like both Vanilla Latte and Sword are out."

"Wait. Why am I out!?"

"Because Rose Milk catch the ball, Sword."

Sword with anger walks away from the field.

"Well, now the Pink team have 7 members while the Purple team have 8."

"Correction. Purple team will have 8 members as well."

As soon as the sentence is said, Herbal Tea threw the ball to Briefcase.

"Enjoy your "daughter", BF", said Herbal Tea.

Vanilla Latte at the bench looks at Herbal Tea with fury.

Briefcase left the field sadly and sat on the bench next to Vanilla Latte and Cocoa.

"You know, I don't know what is going on with Herbal Tea's attitude", said Vanilla Latte break the silence between the three of them.

"When we were all in our cabins, she told me that I am a beverage from Starbucks with fury in her eyes", said Cocoa. "She also doesn't let me to introduce myself as well."

"I think we should keep an eye on her throught the competition", said Briefcase.

"Are you thinking what I am thinking VL?", questioned Cocoa.

"Are you sure about this?", said Vanilla Latte.

"I am sure. Oh, Briefcase."

"Yes, what is it?"

"I am-"

Vanilla Latte clears her throat.

"I mean, Me and Vanilla Latte are planning to form an alliance with you, alongside with Matcha."

Cocoa then shifts his look to Matcha getting hit by Tie.

Then, Apple throw the ball using his head and it was caught by Perfume.

Herbal Tea and Rose Milk throw the ball towards Perfume and shatters.

Boba Tea sighs and recovers Perfume with a snap of his fingers.

"I seriously don't know how did he have acquired the power to recover objects like us with a snap of his finger", said Matcha while sitting beside Cocoa.

"Don't know sis, but me, Briefcase and Vanilla Latte are planning to form an alliance and of course, including you as well."

"Oh, really? That's sounds cool. I am in."

"Great! Our first meeting is at the catering tent once the challenge is over, ok?"

"Ok'', said everyone.

"And it looks like it's 5 vs 6. Who is gonna win?"

"Oh, that is so it! Hey you 3! Don't just stand there! Help out here!", ordered Herbal Tea.

"How are we going to play? We don't even have ar-"

A dodgeball just hit Mango Sago and sent him flying across the court and shattered.

"We are doomed."

Rose Milk threw 2 balls and hit both Lotus and Tie.

"Great job, Rose Milk!", shouted Herbal Tea.

"And it looks like it is tied. 4v4."

"Well not for much longer," said Lamp smirkingly.

Lamp threw 2 more dodgeballs at Banana and Blueberry Muffin.

"Uh oh."

"What do you mean by Uh oh? They are a burden to this team and never contribute anything towards the challenge," said Herbal Tea.

Rose Milk stared at Herbal Tea.

"What are you looking at sis. Just throw the balls to them for pete's sake! We are almost gonna win if we both throw 2 balls to them!", exclaimed Herbal Tea.

Both of them throw 2 dodgeballs and are managed to hit Bandana, Floppy Disk and Nightfall Pattern.

"Meh. I guess I should do this."

"LAMP NO!", shouted Sword.

Lamp throw a ball at himself which make him automatically out.

"And it looks like Team Pink wins the first challenge! Team Purple, you are going to face elimination in an hour. Meet Brownie at the elimination ceremony where one of you will be the first object to be eliminated from RFTS," said Boba Tea.

"Oh. And I need everyone's identification cards right now."

Everyone gives their identification cards to Boba Tea.

"Lamp. what was that!", shouted Sword with full of rage.

"What it was 1v2. I can't win this and I don't even feel competing in this challenge anyways. It is literally boring."

"Well, the goal for us is to win and not loosing!", exclaimed Sword.

"Whatever."

Lamp walks away from the team.

"Well, we already know who is the first boot," said Nightfall Pattern.

-Catering Tent-

"So, how do you guys think about Herbal Tea?", questioned Briefcase.

"For starters, she doesn't like old contestants like us," said Matcha.

"And she is sometimes mean to the armless. I mean she literally tell both Blueberry Muffin and Banana that they are a burden to the team,'' said Vanilla Latte with pity.

"What can we do about it?", questioned Cocoa.

"Well, we could just vote her if our team is up for elimination, just the 4 of us,'' said Matcha.

"But if she turned nice, maybe we no need to vote her?", questioned Vanilla Latte.

"Dear, I don't think she will ever turn nice anytime soon,'' said Briefcase.

The scene then shifts to the elimination ceremony.

"Welcome to the first elimination of the season, Team Purple! You all have casted your votes on the player who you want to be eliminated. The player with the most votes will have to ride the boat to Elimination Island to be never seen again, if there is a rejoin," said Brownie.

"We know who is getting out anyways,'' said Sword.

"I don't think you should get your hopes up, Sword,'' said Lamp.

Sword ignore Lamp's words.

"So, I am going to read out the votes one by 0ne. First vote…Sword."

"What. Why me?"

"Second vote…Lamp."

"Oh, come on! It was only a 1v2. I can't surely win with Rose Milk and Herbal Tea during that stupid and original dodgeball challenge."

Brownie gives a death stare to Lamp and then spoke, "Well, Lamp, the next 2 votes are for you and another 2 for Sword. So, it is a tie with 3 votes each. Next vote…Briefcase."

Briefcase looks up and is afraid.

"So, it looks like that's 3 votes for Sword and Lamp while a vote for Briefcase."

"The eighth vote goes to…Sword."

"Really, You can't be that serious guys…right?" questioned Sword.

Everyone didn't look at Sword.

"The first contestant eliminated from Reach For The Stars is…Sword…"

"WHAT!"

"That was revenge for killing me just now before the challenge was ever begun, doofus!", said Bandana.

"Oh. You little-"

"Alright, Sword. We are on a tight schedule. So, any last words before you bid goodbye."

Sword inhale and exhales and spoke, "You all have made a big grave mistake of voting me out, it should've been Lamp instead of me. This team won't even function properly. And I swear that once I've rejoined back! I will take revenge on all of-"

Brownie sends in 2 bodyguards to drag Lamp and put him on the Boat Of Losers.

"I WILL TAKE REVENGE! MUAHAHAHA!", screamed Lamp while he was drifting far away from the island.

"And that is it for Day 1. With Lamp gone, we are down to the final 17. Will Team Purple ever win the next time or will Lamp's curse be with them? Find out in the next episode of…
