Prologue, Burning Desires

632 A.D ninth garde, Evergreen kingdom.

I ran closer and closer. The sun that's almost setting, paints a moment in my heart.

"You're late, Amaris." A kid beside me says.

I take a moment to breathe, "I'm sorry."

I look into the horizon to find the sun, it's beautiful. I gaze at it for a couple minutes now, not aware of what's happening.

After a few minutes then the sun has sunk into nowhere.

"Ataris, Amaris, let's go home!" The other kid beside me says.

I nodded. They are my brothers, Akaris is the older one. He has amber eyes with orange hair.

The other one, Ataris. He is similar to Akaris with slightly brighter hair close to yellowish.

And I'm Amaris, the last of them, ang difference between me and them is that I am a girl. It doesn't really matter tho…as long as we have each other, we can face anything in our way.

The way that separate our village with the place that we just watched sunset is not that far so we arrived home pretty quickly. Our village is vibrant even though its kinda small than the other garde.

This small village located near a mountain range and dense forest is cozy. As the name implies of this kingdom, Evergreen kingdom is full greenery within its land.

"Amaris, come here for a sec!" My mom shouted from the back of the home.

I ran as quickly to my garden in the back of my home as i smelled something nice. And i was right. They're having a barbeque with the deer that my brothers hunt earlier this day.

My father came up to both of my brothers, pat their heads and says "good job, both of you." Smiles light up in their faces.

"Also your birthday is tomorrow right Amaris?" My mom approached me.

I nodded. I was born in early spring five year–almost six now with the fact that tomorrow is my bithday. I smile, What present am i gonna get?. Thinking of it already makes me excited.

Few hours passed, the neighbors come to our backyard to enjoy the time being together. Talking about their daily life.

Meanwhile, me and my brothers are playing games with the other kids. Just to keep it simple, we decided to play hide and seek around the house.

And the first round i was the one that's seeking, i take a look around the house, at the living room, the kitchen, nothing. They're so good at hiding how do i find them?. I thoughts about looking in the front yard but they aren't there.

I never think of how big my house was, i step backwards, trying to see the big picture until i bump into somebody.

"Careful there." The man said to me. He looks tired, and wicked. What a strange man.

I quickly go inside again, and finally after a couple of minutes i found my brothers and the other kids. Now it's my turn to hide, but I'm too tired so i went up to sleep.

The people that came stayed until past midnight, it's common to see things like this around here. But this time they're more noisy than usual, so I'm woken up in the middle of night.

"I need to go to the bathroom."

After going to the bathroom, I'm heading to bed. It's kinda creepy having to walk from the bathroom back to bed, more so with the lights being turned off.

"Where are you going Amaris?" My father asked. I jump shocked of my fathers behavior.

I told him i was heading back to bed.

"Okay good night."

Good night, i hope tomorrow come faster. I can't wait to see my gift.

Later that night, I'm woken up again. Not to a pleasant surprise. My body feels hot, this usually never happens. Has summer come already?

I opened my eyes to see my house was burning, looking around, the only person in this house left was only me. Where did everybody go?

I rushed out from my room, calling out to everybody that i can reach.

"MOM! DAD! WHERE ARE YOU?" i screamed as hard as i could, i feel my voice cracking.

I finally went outside my house in the frontyard. Nothing there. There are nobody in sight, where did they go? How come they leave me alone burning here?

Somebody then approached me, who i am lost without my family, brothers. Akaris, Ataris, where did you guys go?

"What a pity." The man said to me.

I was six at that time, and my birthday was welcomed with an awful night.

"Do you want to come with me?"

If its takes me from this place, forget it, then please. I don't want to burn alive. I don't want to die at the age of six.

Unable to keep my breath, i fell to the floor, fainted. Mom, Dad, Akaris, Ataris, where are you now? Why did you leave me here, to burn?

3 days later

Today, i woke up with an unfamiliar ceiling above me, where am i? Do i wanna know it? It doesn't matter, how far i travel, i won't forget that night.

A few moments later, a maid came into my room. "Ah, you're awake, i need to tell master."

Then her 'master' came, from his face, he seems familiar. Is he the guy that i bumped in my frontyard a few days ago? I couldn't be.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"What's my name? My name is Amaris…Amaris Renée."
