CHAPTER 3:

I will give you the Job." he said. " Thank you sir," I said and jumped and celebrated with a dance.

He asked me to sit down, then he gave me a form to fill and bring it back, so I could start work the next day. I feel satisfied as I got a job and I will go back home now. I left the office.

I remembered I don't have transport to go home. I returned to the manager's office, I pushed the door open.

"What do you want gain?" the man yelled.

"I don't have money for transport," I replied. The manager put his hand in his pocket and brought out some money, handed it to me. "Thank you, sir." I said, so I walked out and went home.

I got home feeling so tired, I stood on the doorstep, I stretched my body then I opened the door and walked in slowly. My dad was sitting on a chair, he stared at me as I was looking tired.

"Are you okay?" My Dad asked, "I got a job in a restaurant," I responded. "Well, congratulations my daughter, you just made me proud of you now," my dad said and smiled.

I nodded and started working to my room, my dad was talking when I continued walking.

He paused and gazed at me as I was walking away. "you're sure everything's okay?" My dad asked.

I walked to my room and dropped the form I was holding on a desk close to my bed. I fell on the bed feeling very weak. Later I slept off.

I woke up a few hours later feeling good, I stretched and looked at the time on the wall, it was evening.

Then I stood up and went out of my room to the guest's room, I met my family seated and talking, I walked quietly, I didn't greet any of them, then I went straight to the kitchen and drank some water and exited the kitchen.

I was walking past them again on my way back to my room and my Dad called me, "Juliette, can we have a minute with you?" My Dad asked.

I went and sat next to him with a stern face, my dad cleared his throat and started. "Everything's going to be changing now that you have secured a job. If I may ask, what's your monthly salary?" My dad asked.

"It's weekly," I corrected him.

"Good, what's the weekly pay?" He asked. "Twenty-five dollars per week," I said.

"Not bad, so you should always make sure to always get to work early and be a good worker." My dad said and continued talking.

After about twenty to thirty minutes of counseling, Dad finally stopped.

Dinner was later prepared by my stepmom, and we were all invited to the table, I went to the table and served myself, then I took my food and started walking away,

"What are you doing Juliette? We're supposed to eat together, as a family," Dad yelled. He sat down crossing his arms.

"We are not families!" I responded, then I turned and walked away from them, I went to my room and slammed the door.

I sat down on my bed and ate the food. After I finished, I picked up my cell phone and called Gene on video call. I told her about my new job and how happy I was when I finally got a job. Then I ended the call.

Later, I stood up and took the form and went through it. I grabbed my pen and sat down to fill it.

I took one more glance at the paper and opened the pillow and hid it under my pillow.

Furthermore, I had already finished eating, and It was time to sleep, so I laid on my bed and continued to be busy with my phone. A few minutes later, I fell asleep.

The following day, I woke up early in the morning, I rushed to my bathroom and showered, then I dressed up and walked downstairs.

Breakfast was already served, and I quickly ate some bread and cheese and rushed out to go,

"Oh, my phone!" I shouted and rushed back to my room. I went and saw it, grabbed it and rushed out.

Furthermore, I am forgetting something, "Oh, my God, the form!" I yelled and pushed back the door, my family just sat down and watched me as I was dramatically running helter-skelter.

Reaching my room, I started checking around, trying to find it.

"Where's it?" I was yelling, but nobody in particular answered me. I searched my desk, under my bed, including my bathroom but still couldn't find it.

I opened the wardrobe and scattered all my clothes trying to find the piece of paper but still didn't find it there.

I scratched my head attempting to figure out where I kept it. "Oh, I know where it is," I said and rushed out.

I went to Natalia's room and went to her parents who were still on the dining table, "where's she? Oh, there you are. Where is my Application form?" I shouted and screamed.

I went and grabbed my stepsister by the neck.

My dad quickly dragged me away and held my hand, "calm down, fighting will not solve any solution and will not find your application form." he said and turned to Natalia.

"Natalia, did you take anything from her room?" Dad asked my stepsister. "I didn't take anything

from her room, she misplaced it, and she is now blaming me for her carelessness!"

Natalia angrily responded.

"You stupid bitch, I know you have hidden it somewhere, give me the form now, or I'll kill you!"

I yelled at the top of my voice. My father calmed me down and told me to go and check my room well, I insisted that I checked well.

My dad left and went to my room, I followed him.

He got to my room and started searching for the paper, he started turning clothes up and down. "Where was the last place you saw…wait is this it?" He asked me while holding the application form.

I nodded and slowly grabbed the paper from him, "Organize your things and find me in the dining room; you need to apologize to your sister," Dad instructed before leaving.

I looked at the time on my phone, and it was already 8:30 Am; I was meant to arrive by 8:00.

I quickly exited and left through the back door. I currently don't wish to meet Dad. I got into a taxi to the restaurant.

I inhaled deeply before I gradually walked into the restaurant.

The manager was standing outside, " You're just coming, the owner of this restaurant is here to meet all of his staff," he yelled and rushed to his office.
