Ch 86: The old man in dark

At the same time, deep beneath the surface of this ninja world, an old man leaned back on a massive wooden seat.

His hair was completely white, spread out behind him, and he wore a black robe, his eyes closed.

This area was shrouded in darkness.

Within the darkness, the ground seemed to twist slowly, and finally, two pure white creatures with brown hair emerged.

The old man opened his eyes, revealing eyes with rings of purple ripples. It made people unable to help but be immersed in them.

In the enormous space was a gigantic humanoid figure. This figure had nine eyes, and its color and body resembled withered wood, with ten pillar-like protrusions on its back.

Hanging above this figure were various white creatures.

Each one looked very similar to the First Hokage.

"Lord Madara, the message has been delivered," said the spiral-faced one to the old man.

"Mm," the old man nodded.

"Orochimaru delivered the message to Konoha. The Third Hokage has already sent Tsunade and Orochimaru to investigate," said another white creature.

"As I expected. Sarutobi may preach about Hashirama's benevolence, but he's quite hypocritical at heart."

"And with that insidious rat, Danzo, by his side, they certainly won't give up this gold mine," the old man said calmly.

"Lord Madara, why did you inform Konoha? Wouldn't it be better to let the Rain Village secretly mine it?" asked the spiral-faced one.

"Yes, didn't you say you hated Konoha?"

"I'm just looking for a bit of amusement. Like a small dessert after a meal," the old man replied casually.

"Lord Madara, I have a question to ask you."

The white creature suddenly turned serious.

"What is it?" Madara asked, thinking it was something important, seeing the other's earnestness.

"What is dessert? You used to be human, but now you're like me, without the need to eat or drink. So you should know what dessert is, right? Is it something that gives you the urge to defecate?"

"..."

The old man ignored the somewhat erratic clone.

He sighed softly, "Since the last Shinobi World War, the five great nations have been too peaceful, like stagnant water."

"After Hashirama died, I've been bored to death."

"Nothing excites me anymore. I just hope these so-called five great nations don't disappoint me," the old man said, curling his lip.

"Wouldn't that start a war?" the spiral-faced one said.

"You're not even human, just a clone I created. Do you speak to your master like that?" the old man snorted.

"But you said you hated war," the spiral-faced one said, somewhat aggrieved.

"..."

"I don't like war, but I'm not starting this one."

"I'm just adding some foreplay to it. This gold mine is like a lubricant, I'm just making sure everyone involved isn't too stiff, so everyone can have more fun."

"For me, this is just a game. A game to amuse me, nothing more."

Looking at the white clone before him, the old man spoke a little more than usual.

"Forget it, why am I telling you this? You wouldn't understand."

"You're not Hashirama, you're just his clone. If Hashirama were here, he would understand what I'm saying. Only with him can I get excited," the old man said with regret.

"Alas, the seeds of this war were planted long ago. They were planted when Hashirama established the one village, one country system."

"Protecting peace, this egoistic will, will cause war. To protect love, war will happen, this is cause and effect, it's impossible to separate. No one can avoid it."

"Hashirama, you can't see reality. And these eyes, born from our union, allow me to see this reality. I see that even under the new order you established, things are still unsatisfactory," the old man said, touching his eyes.

"The longer I live, the more I feel that reality is filled with nothing but anguish, pain, and loneliness."

"Without you, I'm really lonely," the old man sighed.

"Lord Madara, were you and the First Hokage close?" another white creature asked.

The spiral-faced one tried to cover his mouth, but it was too late.

"Not really. How should I put it? It was special, I guess. I feel like I knew him in a past life."

"Back then, one of my brothers had just died in battle. I was endlessly saddened by a small setback, lost in disappointment and despair," the old man recalled.

"Then I met Hashirama. He warmed me. Hashirama told me that even if we've been hurt, even if we've been disappointed, we must still persevere in our ninja way."

"But I think he's a hypocrite. The ninja way can't bring us solace. Those who were once lost are still lost."

"So later..." the old man kept talking.

"Here we go again. Whenever this old man gets into this state, it's just Hashirama, Hashirama, nonstop," the spiral-faced one said helplessly.

After half an hour, the old man finally seemed tired.

He paused, "I never thought I'd become so decrepit. If it weren't for this Gedo Statue..." The old man laughed again, but the laughter had a hint of desolation.

"How is Nagato doing?"

The old man asked, and in the darkness, he seemed to slowly close his eyes.

"Everything's normal. They've settled down in the Rain Village. The memories of that child's parents about Uzushiogakure have been sealed away."

The old man nodded.

"What about the Uchiha clan? I told you to keep monitoring the Uchiha clan, looking for interesting children. How's that going?"

"Why are you so interested in children, you old geezer? Aren't we good enough?"

The old man snorted in displeasure.

"Um, I recently found a very interesting child," the spiral-faced one said quickly, realizing the old man was angry.

"Speak."

"That child is Uchiha Kagami's son."

"Uchiha Kagami?" the old man stood up, leaning on his scythe of judgment, known as the god of death.

"Let me think."

"Kagami, I remember that child. He was indeed very talented. I even considered him as my successor. But he became that person's disciple," the old man said with a look of disgust.

"That person is Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage?" the white figure asked.

"Yes... an extremely unpleasant fellow... but he's long dead. And he died miserably." The old voice laughed, the laughter growing louder, but it seemed that because of his old age, his laughter was somewhat rushed, and he soon coughed violently.

"Lord Madara, are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

"By the way, who has Kagami's Mangekyo Sharingan..."
