Ch 171: The safest place in Naruto world

This place is generally considered the safest area in the entire Naruto world. Whether in times of peace or war, its security far exceeds that of the villages of the Five Great Nations.

So, in a sense, if you transmigrate here dreaming of a safe and stable life—congratulations. The Daimyo Residence welcomes you.

In fact, it makes perfect sense. Konoha, the strongest of the five major villages, has been attacked multiple times in succession.

The Nine-Tailed Fox incident, Orochimaru's invasion, Pain's assault—there's always something catastrophic brewing.

The Sand Village? Even worse. The environment is borderline uninhabitable. The Fourth Kazekage has a habit of "testing" his son, which leads to Shukaku going berserk regularly. Add in Deidara's surprise airstrike, and the danger index sits at a solid four stars.

Live in Cloud Village? Congrats again. There, you'll frequently witness a two-meter-tall muscle beast wrestling a giant octopus. Entertaining? Maybe. Safe? Absolutely not.

As for the Blood Mist Village—do we even need to talk about that? You stay there long enough, you'll either be dead or a certified psycho. Hands down the most dangerous of the Five Great Nations.

Stone Village isn't as eventful, but the terrain is brutal. It's like living in the ninja version of a remote mountain village. What transmigrator would willingly pick that?

So, in conclusion: if comfort and safety are your KPIs, the Daimyo Residence is your optimal deployment zone.

However, while the Daimyo Residence is secure, it's still the seat of the Land of Fire's ruler. The place is crawling with nobles, and the feudal system is alive and well. If you're not careful, you might get swept up by one of these Celestial Dragon-types and end up a glorified house pet.

Due to its complexity, Orochimaru initially considered handling this mission himself—but quickly backed off. His identity is too high-profile for this kind of operation. Same goes for Tsunade and Sakumo Hatake. Their every move could be interpreted as a signal from Konoha.

So, this mission had to fall to someone like Uchiha Tatsumi—a strong "unknown pawn."

Although the title of Konoha's Lightning Flash rings loud through the ninja world, very few people actually know what he looks like.

At this moment, hidden deep within a dense forest, there's an ancient tree—indistinguishable from the others on the outside, but hollow on the inside.

It serves as a covert stronghold. Inside, three Konoha ninjas are resting.

It's been three days since Uchiha Tatsumi and his team arrived outside the Daimyo Residence.

Following the confidential mission orders from Orochimaru, he brought Minato, Mikoto, and Nawaki and separated from the main Konoha force, heading toward the capital of the Land of Fire.

Nawaki had been to the capital once long ago. He didn't remember the exact route, but he still had a decent sense of direction.

Orochimaru, ever the meticulous planner, included a detailed forest map in the mission scroll, with the shortest route to the capital clearly marked—just in case the team got lost in the embrace of Mother Forest.

Thanks to that, their travel speed was exceptional.

Ninja mobility really is something else.

Just then, the camouflage covering the tree hole was pulled back, and a fourth ninja entered. It was Minato.

"Another grain transport is heading toward the Land of Wind," he reported, stepping inside and quickly re-camouflaging the entrance.

In his hand was a fat gray hare, freshly caught on his way back. Tonight's meal was looking promising.

The tree hollow was surprisingly spacious and well-hidden. It had become their fallback base of operations.

It was stocked with essential supplies—food, medicine, ninja tools. After each recon sweep, the team would return here to rest and resupply.

Multiple strongholds were distributed across their scouting zone. Supplies were stored in batches to prevent total loss if one site was compromised.

At that moment, a small fire crackled inside the tree. It had been specially treated to emit minimal smoke, which drifted through the tree's natural gaps—undetectable unless someone was practically on top of it.

And if someone did get that close, Uchiha Tatsumi's perimeter alarms or Dabai sensory abilities would pick them up immediately.

So the team felt fairly secure. After all, it was just a B-rank mission.

But Uchiha Tatsumi sighed quietly to himself.

Too naive. With Nawaki involved, how could this possibly be a simple B-rank mission? Still, he kept his thoughts to himself. Crushing Nawaki's confidence wouldn't help anyone.

"Check your equipment, put out the fire—we're moving out soon."

After reiterating the critical safety protocols, the four quickly cleaned up their meal and began prepping.

They had been reconning the area for days, and now they had enough intel to move forward.

After applying minimal disguises, Uchiha Tatsumi led the team out of the stronghold, moving toward the Daimyo Residence.

Even the most novice ninja can handle the Transformation Technique. As long as their cover identities weren't completely absurd, the risk of exposure was minimal.

The capital of the Land of Fire still looked vibrant and bustling—untouched by war.

Guided by Nawaki's hazy memories of the capital, they finally located a respectable inn.

Their operation, meticulously planned over several days, was about to begin.
