**Chapter 59: Dumbledore's Test! Achievement Reward: Spell Chain!**

Dylan hadn't expected that what he truly desired was something so simple.

A gathering of people in a garden?

"Hmm?" Suddenly, Dylan noticed something dark flickering faintly in the clouds at the top of the mirror, where the sky was bright and sunny. But it vanished in an instant.

Dylan squinted. "What am I even thinking about?"

"Gurgle~"

At that moment, he felt a rumble in his stomach, and a wave of hunger washed over him.

He smacked his lips and looked at the food his parents had prepared—mostly his favorite dishes from childhood.

Of course, given England's reputation as a culinary wasteland, there were also many foods on the table that only existed in his previous life, during the era of exploding food additives. Dylan even spotted Coke and Sprite.

"I'm a bit hungry. I should go eat."

Dylan swallowed his saliva and turned to leave.

"At least it's not something strange. It seems I'll need to find some time to figure out how to recreate all those delicious foods from my past life using magic."

He could, of course, make them himself, but wouldn't it be more convenient to just wave a wand and have the food appear?

Like his milk tea, which he had concocted while experimenting with the Transfiguration spell.

Dylan pushed open the classroom door, glanced around, and, seeing no one, hurried away.

After he left, the space behind the mirror twisted, and two figures emerged.

Dumbledore gazed at the lingering scene in the mirror with a look of wonder.

Harry and the professors were chatting or laughing along to music, while Dylan moved among his family and friends, a happy smile on his face.

"This boy could never become a dark wizard. Believe me, he won't study dark magic."

Dumbledore smiled warmly. "Though I wonder what that dark liquid he served his guests was. It looked like some kind of drink."

He was touched because, in Dylan's heart, even his own figure had appeared, sitting kindly in a lounge chair, watching the children play.

Such a scene was truly rare.

As the warm images in the mirror faded, Dumbledore even wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.

Snape pursed his lips, staring at his own reflection in the mirror until it disappeared.

"I would never smile like that."

Dumbledore chuckled.

"Haha, but what if you did?"

He turned and walked toward the classroom door. "You can rest easy about this boy now, can't you?"

Snape snorted. "Based on a motionless mirror? People change."

Dumbledore shook his head, glanced back at the Mirror of Erised, and was momentarily stunned by what he saw. His eyes grew even wetter before he looked away.

"Severus, people are dynamic, but those wrapped in love, no matter how they change, will always hold onto their truest selves."

"You might not understand, but I must tell you, love has a power that transcends all, even the boundaries of life and death."

"So you must believe that a person's true self is exactly as the mirror shows."

Snape's eyes flickered, and he fell silent for a moment.

"Hmph. Given that he understood the inscription on the mirror the first time he saw it, I'll reluctantly believe that a truly intelligent person wouldn't truly fall to darkness."

Dumbledore laughed again, stopping to give Snape a once-over.

"Severus, your hair seems neater today. Your skin looks better too—more youthful and radiant. It's quite nice."

Snape's lips twitched. "Stop talking nonsense."

With that, he stepped toward the door, but Dumbledore called out to him again.

"Severus, I think you should teach the boy Occlumency and Legilimency."

"What?"

Snape froze, turning back with a furrowed brow.

"He's only a first-year! Why would he need to learn that?"

Dumbledore smiled gently. "He's a kind and diligent boy. As his headmaster and head of house, it's only fair that we compensate him for using our powers to pry into the secrets of an upright student."

With that, Dumbledore walked away.

Snape silently watched the old man's retreating figure, his eyes sunken.

After a moment, he reached up to touch his hair, then his cheek.

"That boy really knows how to come up with strange potions."

With a soft snort, Snape strode out of the classroom, his steps as brisk as ever, though perhaps a bit lighter.

Meanwhile, after arriving at the Great Hall, Dylan resisted the urge to gorge himself and instead simply piled about a dozen dishes onto his plate.

After finishing everything, he returned to his dormitory.

He cast a quick *Scourgify* on himself, then sat on his bed and checked the system notification.

——————

**Achievement**: Glimpse into the Heart

**Description**: You've seen your truest self!

**Unlock Requirement**: Gaze into the Mirror of Erised and confront your inner desires.

**Achievement Reward**: Spell Chain ×10

——————

"Oh? Spell Chain?"

Seeing the system's message, Dylan raised an eyebrow.

This time, the reward wasn't Galleons, magical talent, or herbs. Judging by the name, it seemed to allow him to cast spells in rapid succession. And the "×10"...

"Does that mean I can cast the same spell ten times in a row?"

Dylan blinked, imagining a scene where he faced off against Voldemort.

Voldemort, with an evil grin, would unleash a Fiendfyre curse, only for Dylan to counter with ten Fiendfyre spells, firing them off like fireworks straight into Voldemort's face.

"Defeating Voldemort with a pink fluffy bunny spell—I wonder what kind of achievement reward that would give."

As he thought this, Dylan pulled out his wand, ready to test it.

"*Petrificus Totalus*!"

He waved his wand at a few small objects on his bedside table, and a surge of magic burst forth.

After the first small wooden figurine turned to stone, Dylan didn't stop.

"*Petrificus Totalus*!"

His wand continued to emit magic as he tapped it lightly, again and again...

One by one, the objects on the table stiffened.

The whole process was incredibly smooth!

After casting ten *Petrificus Totalus* spells in a row, Dylan felt his mental energy waver slightly.

He shook his head, pushing down the faint sense of exhaustion.

"Whew…"

It seemed he'd need some time to get used to casting ten spells in rapid succession.
