**Chapter 70: Trait: Instantaneous Transformation!**

"Actually, this isn't exactly absolute wandless magic. After all, I can't do this with other spells yet."

"It's just that I'm more familiar with the Summoning Charm. I've practiced it over a thousand times, that's all."

He casually offered this explanation, not particularly concerned whether Hermione and the others believed him or not.

After all, who could really verify whether he had practiced a spell thousands of times to achieve wandless casting for that specific charm?

If he said he had, then he had!

"A thousand times?" Hermione blinked, quietly filing this information away in her mind.

She decided she would go back and try practicing a spell a thousand times too!

Maybe she could be like Dylan and perform wandless magic!

Wandless magic!

Many adult wizards couldn't even do that!

"But Neville, you really should be braver and stand up to Malfoy," Ron said, turning to Neville.

"Yeah, if Dylan hadn't happened to pass by today, you would've been bullied by him again!" Seamus nodded in agreement.

Harry glanced at the two, then at Neville, and blinked a couple of times. "They're right."

Neville puffed out his cheeks. "Hmph, I've almost finished growing the Fire Thorn. Once I'm done, I'll give it back to Professor Sprout and ask for a Mandrake seed!"

Hermione raised an eyebrow, her mouth slightly open. "What are you planning, Neville? Even if you're a young wizard, the Ministry will still punish you for murder!"

Neville shot Hermione a look. "I won't let the Mandrake fully mature. When it's just sprouting and the toxicity is weak, I'll cut off a piece of its stem and sneak it into Malfoy's bread!"

"He'll be vomiting all day!"

Harry, Ron, and the others were taken aback by Neville's words.

Since when had Neville become so fierce?

Dylan's eyelid twitched. "Neville, if the professors find out, you'll be punished too. So, you should really think this through…"

Neville seemed to listen to Dylan.

He nodded. "Alright, Dylan, I'll listen to you. But if Malfoy bothers me again—like trying to steal the Remembrall my grandma sent me—I'll make him regret it!"

Dylan gave a slight nod and didn't say anything more.

After spending so much time studying Herbology and being influenced by Dylan, Neville had grown a lot. Dylan trusted that Neville would know his limits.

After dinner, Dylan didn't head to the library.

Instead, he went straight back to the dormitory.

Neville went to tend to his Fire Thorn, Seamus went off to hang out with Dean, and Harry and Ron headed to the Quidditch pitch.

Though it wasn't very late, Dylan found himself alone in the dorm.

But that was exactly what he wanted.

He took off his robes, cast a quick *Scourgify* on himself, and sat down on his bed. Coal, his pet, immediately hopped over.

"Moo~"

Dylan patted its little head and rubbed its chin, making it purr contentedly.

After sleeping in Dylan's arms for so long, it had lost its initial aloofness and had become much more affectionate.

"You've grown a lot," Dylan said, holding Coal in his arms. Though the dorm was warm, he still felt a bit chilly without his robes.

"I guess I'll need to buy a few more robes. Even though the aesthetic effects of wizard robes can't be permanently fixed, I can just transform them into the clothes I want to wear. That way, I won't need to change them back into robes."

When he wanted to wear them, he could simply pull them out, and when he didn't, he could store them back in the system's inventory.

"Not a bad idea. Why didn't I think of this earlier?"

After jotting this down, Dylan turned his attention to the system panel.

After all this time, he finally had a chance to check whether the spell refinement task was complete.

**[Message]:** You have completed the Transfiguration refinement task!

**[Message]:** You have unlocked a new trait for Transfiguration—Instantaneous Transformation!

Seeing the system notification, Dylan's eyes lit up.

He quickly checked the details of this new trait.

---

**[Instantaneous Transformation]:** When using Transfiguration, you can instantly complete the transformation without any delay. The moment you think of the spell, the target will transform into the desired form!

**[Note]:** The success of the transformation depends on your spell proficiency and the target's magical resistance.

---

"This is incredible! Such a powerful trait!"

After reading the description on the system panel, a look of joy spread across Dylan's face.

Even with a maxed-out Transfiguration skill, achieving instantaneous transformation with just a thought would be nearly impossible, right?

And casting directly from his mind to achieve the transformation—wasn't that essentially another form of wandless magic?

Dylan couldn't wait to test out the effects of this Instantaneous Transformation trait.

The dormitory was noisy outside, but the room itself was quiet.

Dylan didn't raise his wand. Instead, he focused on an ink bottle on the table.

Taking a deep breath, an image of a majestic eagle statue flashed vividly in his mind.

As soon as the thought formed, Dylan could feel the magic within him being channeled. As he silently recited the incantation in his mind, a brilliant light burst from the ink bottle almost simultaneously!

When the light faded, the ink bottle was gone, replaced by a lifelike eagle statue, standing tall with its wings slightly spread, as if ready to take flight.

"Hmm! It looks just like the eagle statue I saw in the hallway when I first arrived here!"

Dylan narrowed his eyes at the eagle statue and cast Transfiguration again, this time incorporating his newly acquired magical trait.

In an instant, Dylan's mind rapidly conjured images of ten different objects.

"Whoosh!"

Magic surged into the eagle statue.

A blinding light enveloped the statue.

In the blink of an eye, the eagle transformed into a lively, hopping hare.

But that was just the beginning. Before the hare could even take a few steps, a second burst of light erupted.

The hare turned into a thick, ancient spellbook, its pages flipping rapidly on their own.

Then came the third, fourth, fifth transformations…

Until the final burst of light shone on a rose, which had just transformed from the previous object.

The vibrant rose turned into a white dove, flapping its wings as it flew onto the table.

With a thought from Dylan, the dove transformed back into the ink bottle.

"Not bad! Even with just a Level 7 Transfiguration skill, I can hold my own against many adult wizards now!"
